Western Sun Landscaping

We had an excellent experience with Western Sun, and would hire hire them again any day. Tom Chandler was my contact, and he was very quick to get back to me, was flexible with timing, and listened carefully to our needs, as well as suggesting work that could be done to more effectively compete the job. Additionally, he was very up front about work we wanted to have done for which they were not our best choice of service provider. The work done was professional, done promptly and completely, and with no hassles. The people who did the work were personable and pleasant, and were responsive to questions or additional needs that arose. Excellent service provider. Hire them!

Terrific! Tom was very responsive in coming out to assess our mess and provide an estimate. He was right on time for the scheduled date and he and Gustavo worked long and **** ** getting things back in shape. Tom even noted a few loose boards in our fence that my bad back and knees have kept me from repairing -- and on his own, did it for us! He's great to work with and we'll definitely be continuing to work with Western Star and recommend them highly.

This is the 2nd time I’ve used them and 2nd A review. Like last time, very timely in responses and scheduling. What I forgot to mention last time is that the work is well performed. In addition, unlike many other contractors I’ve worked with, their employees work hard all day long. Show up in the morning, take a reasonable lunch break, stay late, and never sit down. With very vague instructions from me, Gus did everything on the entire property that I could have asked for and more. I would have anticipated 2 days of work, but it was done in one.

After several years of letting blackberry brambles go untouched, they took over both my front and back yards. Western Sun Landscaping did a great job at cleaning up both yards and is now doing monthly yard maintenance. Although I cannot speak to the competitiveness of their pricing, I found the amounts charged to be reasonable and well worth the freedom of knowing someone else is now doing the maintenance.

Everything went great from requesting the quote to having the work done. Tom was very thorough and answered all my questions and made recommendations for care of our trees and shrubs. He even told us what we didn't need done (pruning the arborvitae). He was very responsive, and he and his team did a fantastic job! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them- will definitely use them again for any future landscaping needs.

Extremely responsive - all calls and emails returned same day. Price was competitive or less than other quotes.

I elected to not use this company because they insisted on being hired on an hourly basis ($50/worker/hr + travel time) followed by a formal quote. Beyond the fact that the hourly rate is excessively high, but to expect to be paid for travel time is ridiculous.

The work began on time and apart from one fractured soaker line, it was done without complications.

They were diligent and thorough in both instances. They worked through a rainy week to complete the job in the back and returned for extra work to make sure we were satisfied. In the front, they came out as soon as we contracted them and killed our old decayed lawn, then returned about six weeks later to till and put in sod. Then when a few bare spots developed they came right out and repaired things. The lawn looks great now.

I searched Angie's List for a reputable provider to address my landscaping concerns. I came across Western Sun Landscaping and immediately called them to get information on pricing and availability. Within a few rings I got a response and was told I would receive a call back later in the day with their availability but Tom immediately took note of the details of my request. Just as promised, he called later that day to let me know when they would be able to come and take care of the lawn. I need not even be there if I did not want to be there, that would be no problem. I was out of town and the crew came, mowed the lawn at the right height, not too short to kill the grass and not too high to not look properly trimmed and my entire yard was done just as committed to do. In a world where we are always busy and always on the run and always going from here to there and everywhere, it is so nice to run into a service provider that delivers the work with quality, does what he commits to do and does not charge an arm and a leg for a job well done. When a provider works with integrity, I do take the time to write a review. If we have this kind of information available, we can always pick the correct provider for our needs and have the peace of mind that we are not getting scammed.

I called Western Sun after business hours on a Wednesday and left a message. Tom called me back promptly Thursday morning. We discussed that I need an estimate for yard cleanup and a maintenance package. He said he could visit Thursday or Friday without me having to be present and send me a quote over the weekend. On Saturday, I received an email saying he was unable to visit earlier and would visit on Monday. He did visit on Monday and sent the quote by email on Tuesday. I appreciate Tom's professionalism during our interactions and to notify me that the estimate would be late. He sent an itemized quote for the proposed work. The quote was on the high side of the range and, thus, is not the one I selected. However, based on my experience I would definitely contact Western Sun again when the need arises.

Tom arrived on time prepared to work on a cold and rainy day. We did a quick tour of what we had agreed needed work. He began and worked steadily for 2 1/2 days. When he was done, everything was as promised, the clean up was complete and I was greatly pleased. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing similar service.

I found them 4 or 5 years ago. They've been doing a great job all this time. Always do the weeding and keep the detritus picked up. Each year I have a clean up of overgrown stuff - not always the same thing: Sometimes trees, sometimes rhodies & azaleas, sometimes lilacs, etc. They are always on time, never leave a mess, and just great to work with

They came and took out all of the weeds and pruned all of my gigantic trees in the front yard. They did everything that needed to be done. I think they actually charged me less than I should have been charged. The work ended up taking a couple more days than expected, but they still didn't charge me extra. Tom was a pleasure to work with!

They are always on time, take good care of our yard, and make sure we are happy with the end result. Tom comes to walk through the job - make suggestions and find out what we want. Then he writes up a bid. Scheduling is very easy. They have always been on time and done a great job.

I pay $300 a month for their services. I think they do a very good job. They are very thorough, they respond to what I tell them, they are easy to talk to, and they follow through on what they say they are going to do. Their price is a little higher than some of the others but they are ranked very highly on Angie?s List. They just come so punctuality is not an issue. We will continue to use them to maintain the property.

They were quick and efficient. They are thorough and professional. They knew their plants. Although I thought they were a little expensive, when I checked around they are the middle to high end of the road, but for their price you get their plant expertise. They actually fixed what another provider butchered.

We've used them for a couple of years. Tom and all other employees are courteous, prompt, and responsive. They've certainly made our yard nicer and our lives easier!!! We feel they are worth the price and would defintely recommend them.

Tom is the gentleman that came out and I am not happy with the outcome of the work they did. I would never have him back. I have no issues with Jeff who owns the company.

They did a great job. They did come out and give me a price for the removal of the trees.

They cleaned up and I did give them a dollar amount of what I wanted to spend and they did a good job.
