Michael gave us a bid along with 2 other companies. Michael was the only one that guaranteed to be on the job site everyday and either do the work himself or oversee the work. He has one other full-time employee; they did most of the work themselves. Michael is a designer, architect, and contractor. We had a relatively small kitchen and Michael opened up the wall between the kitchen and dining room to join the two rooms together. It of course turned out to be a much bigger job than we anticipated. The wall we took down required him to calculate the load and submit it for approval, and he had to tear out the ceiling in our basement to add load bearing beams. The quality of work is outstanding; he even added some touches to make the remodel look vintage and handcrafted. In addition he built a seat in our mudroom just off the kitchen to add to the charm of the kitchen and add storage space. He started by showing us the design he came up with on the computer and gave us a timeline and detailed estimate. We raised the costs by going over our allowance for certain expenditures (glass tile, appliances, etc). The whole kitchen took about 2 months, exactly the amount of time we expected. We couldn't be more happy with out kitchen. It is a thousand times better than it was before the remodel and I'm thrilled to recommend him for any remodeling job.
