First, Nick ask me all kinds of questions from our flow of customer traffic to color and styles we liked. Nick than came back with an outstanding plan and scope of work to build a ski boot service loft to take advantage of our high ceilings, but limited floor space. Consequently, he added, we could comfortably build out our rental area and have room for a new service counter to handle an over flow of customers. He then redesigned our Kids Department, adding better lighting and wall space. To top it all off, he discovered the original tongue and groove wood floors in our rental area, which he sanded and refinished. When all was said and done, his remodel gave us the best interior look of any ski shop in town. He incorporated wonderful upgrades which tied in perfectly with our original, cozy ski lodge look.
Aside from the quality of the finished product, Nick gets high marks for his outstanding professionalism. He was always on time, paid great attention to detail, and truly operated as a craftsman. When I told Nick that I had always wanted nice ski boot fitting benches and showed him some industry examples, he thought outside the box and built me two cedar benches of the highest quality that have drawn the envy of my industry peers (not to mention the customers!).
Nick was also very respectful of trying to work around our hours of operation and numerous times worked after store hours as to not disrupt our ability to conduct business. Also, very importantly, Nick's work was all done extremely cost effectively and completed on time.
I take great pleasure in recommending Nick Slade at SladeBuilt NW and will certainly seek him out on any future remodelling or building needs.
