Jason was a delight to work with. I was involved in the project before and after (I did the demolition work on the windows and removed siding, and installed new siding after the doors and windows were in). He has good ideas and is straightforward about construction choices, alternatives, and costs. He is very knowledgeable, and his work is of high quality. He isn't cheap, but I believe it's worth it to pay for good quality, and there is no question about his honesty and integrity, as well as his workmanship.
There were a number of issues that arose in working on our house, which was built in the 20s and the 40s, and there were some unforeseen issues that had to be dealt with (such as a complete lack of sheathing underneath the siding below the windows--he had to install plywood onto the framing). These issues increased the time and the cost, but they were resolved in a way that made the best of a previously bad situation, and improved the state of our old house.
Jason is generally busy, so one needs to be flexible. about scheduling. But once he got to the job, he was focused on our project and gave it the time it needed.
I will definitely use Siri Construction again for our next job. The windows he installed are great and made a real difference to our bedroom. The French doors are beautiful and work smoothly: they are still one of the most beautifully functioning things in our house. (Some credit is due for this to Dan at Truax who helped us through the purchase process and supplied Jason with the materials.)

A few years after the remodel, we called him back in for a couple of things and he was perfectly happy to promptly take care of issues and deal with the City of Portland as well.

Working with them was great. They were timely, fairly priced and knowledgeable. The quality of the work was excellent and he does work with the city for a program and knows the inspectors and so was able to get things passed that needed to be passed through knowledge of the city, the codes and construction.

This work was done a while ago, but since then I have had several other contractors doing unrelated work comment on the high quality of the construction of this deck. There was a little confusion about the cost estimate Jason emailed us initially. However, he was quick to correct the inconsistencies in the estimate and offered to forgo a few of the costs. After settling on terms, he and his team completed the work in a few days. I had provided him with a sketch of a deck design I had. He followed this very closely and built a very good looking and very sturdy deck. He created a hatch that blends perfectly into the side so it is next to impossible to notice unless you look very closely. I was very pleased with the attention to detail and craftsmanship. The sliding glass doors and dog door also look and work great.

Other contractors said, “Tear it down.” Jason delivered superbly, making an old house new and eco-friendly. Remodeling, especially a house the age of this one, requires vastly greater skill than new construction and Siri Construction has that skill. No other contractor could have done such a superb and thorough job with this challenging remodel. There is a beautiful balance in the house between comprehensive systems and attention to detail and exemplary integration of the fundamentals of construction with 21st century technology. Through all this year-long remodel, estimates and costs were right on the mark!
