 + -1 moreI am very satisfied with the work that this company did for me. I would definitely hire them again for yard work or pruning projects.
Description of Work: SBS Tree Service provided a new, thick layer of bark dust to my yard. Sina gave a good quote for the job and then worked as hard as the rest of the crew applying the bark dust. She was concerned about the best way to handle some of the ground level plants and made good suggestions on how to best apply the mulch. Originally Sina had said the job would take a day and a half. The crew arrived, worked hard and completed the job in one day. The final price was higher than the original estimate but I agreed to a thicker coat of the mulch. It was worth the extra expense and should last longer than a thin coat of mulch. My choice was to have the bark dust applied by hand. It is more expensive, but definitely worth the added cost.

 + -1 moreI wasn't impressed. She said something, and then he said something (in their language), and they gave us a quote. They said they wanted to top it, and I was the one who said, "No, you don't top that type of tree." I asked him how he was going to get up there and he said he was going to climb it, and I said, "With spikes?" He said, "How else?" and I had to tell him that you don't climb an oak tree with spikes. It doesn't say on their website if they're licensed or bonded, and I don't want the tree to be butchered.
Description of Work: We had an estimate for an oak tree trimming because there were lots of dead branches and limbs from the wind storm that we can't reach.

Description of Work: I had SBS come out and bid on two large trees that needed to be removed and stumps ground. She told me that it was a big job and that the usual price would be $3,000 per tree ($6,000 total) but she would make me a deal - $2,000 per tree ($4,000 total) - because she works with families, etc. When I didn't seem really excited and willing to make the deal on the spot she asked what I wanted to spend. I told her that someone else just bid around $1,400 for both -she immediately dropped the price to $1,350 to cut the trees and leave the wood - $50 lease than the other bid. They may do great work and be great folks but the shady negotiating made me feel a bit uncomfortable and unwilling to use them.

 + -1 moreFELETI (THE BUSINESS OWNER) WAS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD PROVIDING SERVICE FOR SOME NEIGHBORS. HE CAME TO THE FRONT DOOR AND ASKED IF WE WANTED LIMBS TRIMMED, SO THAT THEY WERE NOT TOUCHING AND OVERHANGING THE ROOF. I ASKED HIM TO COME INTO THE BACK YARD AND GIVE ME A QUOTE ON A GREATER AMOUNT OF WORK. HE VIEWED THE THREE TREES THAT NEEDED TO COME DOWN, PLUS THE MAPLE LIMBS THAT NEEDED TRIMMING. (SOME 25 FEET OFF OF THE GROUND) HE SAID THAT THE NORMAL PRICE WOULD BE $1,200 TO $1,500 (WHICH I WOULD AGREE WITH BASED ON PAST QUOTES), BUT SINCE THERE WAS SOME TIME OPEN IN HIS SCHEDULE, HE WOULD DISCOUNT THE JOB TO $900. TWENTY-FOUR HOURS LATER THE WORK WAS DONE. FELETI CAME BY, I WALKED THE BACK YARD WITH HIM, WE TALKED ABOUT FUTURE WORK THAT MAY BE NEEDED, THEN I PAID HIM. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH HIS FAST, PROFESSIONAL SERVICE.
Description of Work: THREE LARGE TREES WERE REMOVED. (TWO COTTONWOOD, ONE MAPLE) ONE MATURE MAPLE HAD LARGE (HIGH) LIMBS REMOVED. LARGE LOGS WERE CUT INTO FIREPLACE-SIZED PIECES AND STACKED. ALL SMALL DEBRIS WAS REMOVED.
