The office staff is superb! The movers were good, although moody when the job took longer than anticipated, even though they were paid for the extra time.

Steve from Rose City came over to give us a quote. He explained what parts of the quote were regulated costs (no other company did that) and was very friendly. The guys who did the packing were good-natured, nice to have around, and made every effort to use all the random packing boxes and paper we had around to reduce our costs. They did miss a few things, like a drawer, a shelf in a cabinet, and another whole cabinet, that we had to pack ourselves later. We had been told they would wrap up large furniture on packing day (cheaper than on moving day when the truck is also being paid for), but they didn’t. On moving day, they got the job done very quickly and there was no damage or missing items. There didn’t end up being enough space in the truck and when they were getting low on space, they asked what should go vs. what could we take ourselves later. They got the job done in half a day, much faster than expected.

I recently moved within Portland.  Rose City Moving sent an excellent crew.  They arrive at the expected time, and set to work.  They were efficient and hard working. All were friendly and cheerful throughout loading and unloading.  No problems at all!

All furniture was moved with care.  They carried large pieces upstairs, with a right angle to navigate.  All furniture was wrapped and floors protected.
Response from ROSE CITY MOVING
"Thanks for the comments and favorable review, glad we could help."

From estimate to the last item brought into the new house things went well.  Rose City did a great job in caring for our items and rose to the challenge of an unexpected late springtime snow (4 inches).    Our items were carefully wrapped and protected from the elements and brought into the new home carefully and placed according to our instructions.  There was a small minor scratch to our wood floors - Rose City immediately sent out someone to fix it and you cannot tell where the scratch was -- the floor looks as good as new.

We are so grateful to Rose City for numerous reasons.  Starting with their professionalism and skill.  When moving in and out, they put down rugs so are not walking on our floors or carpets.  They covered stair banisters with blankets to protect them from getting banged up.  All were courteous and kind.
They worked with us up front to help us determine the most cost effective way to make the move -- and really helped us.  For instance, by having the movers load the truck with items from storage on one day, then deliver and unload into our house the next day - it avoided a long day with overtime charges.  They gave us an estimate and the price came in exactly as quoted.
And here is where we really appreciated them - we had to cancel and reschedule our move FIVE times!  It was incredibly stressful for us at the time.  Each time Rose City worked with us to reschedule as efficiently as possible and they were so kind and understanding of the situation and stress involved.
We had used them once before (10+ years prior) and between then and now also used another team - that was a big mistake, we will never use anyone else again!!

Pretty seamless from start to finish.  Packing crew showed up dead on time and actually finished about an hour early.  They staged most of the larger items in the garage to facilitate easier loading of the trucks.  The moving crew also showed up right on schedule and in spite of the necessity to change the crew lead due to a death in the family, the entire thing went pretty smoothly.   There were some unexpected hitches due to a very large item which simply didn't fit into the unit (and is now in storage), however, there is no fault on Rose City's part and in fact they went out of the way to store the item for us until we are able to disposition it.  The move took a bit longer than expected, mostly due to the very long haul and limit of only a single elevator for the move.

The two movers showed up right on time.  They were completely professional and efficient in their conduct.  The guys asked me the right questions at the right moments, making sure they were doing things the way that I wanted them to.  It was, admittedly, a very simple moving job, as such things go; yet I appreciated their speed, competence, and politeness.  The movers were incredibly nice at the end, when I realized I needed to make a 10-minute round trip to the bank to make sure I could pay them the full amount due, which I did. They just waited patiently and were very reassuring about that being okay with them.  Nice job, guys!

They were really nice very professional, not creepy at all.  They were great and I liked everything about them.  I had looked for movers, and some of them were creepy and very rude, and this company from start to finish was just fantastic!  I will use them in the future if necessary.

Myself (office manager) and one of my staff thought the move went extremely well.  The movers arrived on time at 12 pm and while we expected everything to take at least close to 4 hours (1 hour per office that was moving), they had 3 of the 4 done within 1 hour.  The last office ended up taking longer due to the large desk that had to be first disassembled with parts going to our basement and other parts reconfigured in the new space, but the lead mover figured out the desk was actually put together improperly the first time and fixed all the problems with it, removing extra random pieces of wood that were on the bottom of the desk that were supposedly there to help balance it but really not needed.  Overall, we were very impressed with how quickly it all went - 2.5 hours in total for moving all 4 offices.  The guys were friendly and efficient.  Though 1 of the 5 people involved with this move was dissatisfied with their service (due to personal belief that things happened differently than the other 4 people all agreed it did), the rest of us would use them again and recommend them to anyone.

Two trucks and five guys arrived on time at 8 AM.  Sebastian was the crew chief and all of the Rose City Moving guys were friendly, professional, and efficient.  These guys were FAST!  The move was complete and their trucks were leaving after only 4 1/2 hours.  These was no damage to any of our belonging, nor was there any damage to either house.  A job very well done! We will definitely use Rose City Moving & Storage for our next move and recommend them to friends without any reservations.

The movers did arrive late, due to the wonderful Vancouver Police department.  :)  I did have to pay for the delay in time, which I didn't like.  However, when the movers arrived.  They went right to work.   We moved into a storage facilty, where one of the movers noticed that there was a leak in my storage unit.  Great, my storage unit comes with a water feature.  They even fetched the property manager, released the water in the unit and stayed until everything was under control.  This experience was crazy, but was overall very well played.    Nothing was broken, we had Anthrax on my stereo and laughs were had.

Thank you!

The movers were efficient, personable, hard-working, and they did a good job. They were gentle with a treasured tansu.  They disassembled a table in order to get it up a flight of steep and narrow stairs and reassembled it perfectly once in place.  And they came in under bid!  In short, we were very pleased.
