Description of Work: I called Robben and son to inspect and repair our gas fireplace. When the technician (Chris) arrived and checked out the fireplace he determined it needed a new part. He had the part with him but when he attempted to install it he broke the pilot light. He said he would order parts and get back to us. Supposedly the parts came in broken, so Chris said he would try to reorder and get back to us He did not, so I called and was then told the parts were no longer available but they would try other suppliers . I have tried several times to find out the status and all I get is the run around. Right now (several weeks after the initial service call) We still do not have a working fireplace. I would not recommend this company at all. Very disappointed.

Description of Work: They are my regular HVAC service provider. I had a frozen motor on an aged system so got quote on new furnace, heat pump & water heater. They did what they said, when they said and checked up on me later too.

Description of Work: Annual tune up of my furnace. I have use the services of this provider for 20 plus years and with one exception (years ago) have been extremely satisfied with their care. I bought my furnace through their company and they have maintained it in excellent condition for many years. Although they offer additional "bells and whistles" when they come for the annual service it is never forced or pushy, just offered and we move on when I refuse.

Description of Work: I'm a Realtor working on a transaction with some buyers. We needed a last minute service/inspection on a furnace in the home my clients are trying to purchase. I called Robben & Sons on the recommendation of another agent and have to say they well exceeded expectations! Johnna was great to deal with on the phone and was able to get me SAME DAY service! Initially I was given a window of a couple of hours for the appointment and I let her know about my potential scheduling conflict with picking up my son at school. Johnna called me back shortly thereafter and told me she had a tech on his way. It was just over an hour from the time of my initial call until the service tech came out. Outstanding!!

Description of Work: My family recently moved into a house with 2 gas fireplaces. One is operational, one is not. A few days ago I called NW Natural Gas to inspect the fireplaces. The inspector came on Tuesday, told me what part was missing and gave me a number to call for part replacement. I was put in touch with Robben and Sons Heating. I told them I needed a burner for our gas fireplace. They informed me there is an $86 - $89 service charge, which I agreed to pay and set up an appointment for the burner to be replaced today. The technician arrived on time and was very polite. However, he said he was sent out to perform a repair, not a part replacement. He called the office from his truck and came back in and told me we would have to buy an entire burner log package and someone else would have to come to the house to give me an estimate. I then showed him our other fireplace that has the same set up and what part I needed. He left and called the office again. He came back and told me it couldn't be done and that the office wanted to charge me the service charge, but he wasn't going to charge me since there seemed to be a mix-up over the nature of the call. Less than 20 minutes later I received a call from NW Gas wanting to resolve my refusal to pay for the service call. I explained that I didn't refuse I was told I wasn't being charged. I explained the entire transaction and said I would pay. I was connected to Robben and Sons on a 3-way call where I was rudely accused of not paying. Again I explained the situation and never said I refused to pay. I was told they would call me back. The NW Natural Gas representative called me back and told me Robben and Sons told her they had tried to collect service charge payment ahead of time via credit card, but I had refused saying I was not comfortable with that. I was never asked for payment, only told there was a charge, which I agreed to. The NW Gas rep told me she would split payment. I said no I would pay the entire $89 but file this on Angie's list and call Better Business Bureau. She said she would call me back. She did and said that NW would pay Robben and Sons the entire amount, but she didn't know what to think because they were still saying I refused payment. I said AGAIN that I was still willing (and again NEVER refused) to pay the full amount, but that I was very angry. I have never been treated so badly by any company and do not understand why it took 2 hours 3 phone calls and a multitude of bad feelings to resolve an issue that shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

Description of Work: This involved a radiant heat boiler with a gas burner conversion unit. The burner unit was leaking natural gas & carbon monoxide. After numerous service calls by a company called First Call, & after being told by the First Call technician that the leak was stopped & there was no detectable gas or CO, NW Natural twice "red-tagged" the system. First Call also told us there were no "specs" for adjusting the burner unit. None of this turned out to be true. Finally, we called Robben & Son Heating. The technician showed up on time, read the unit manual, made adjustments, stopped the leak, brought the appropriate detection equipment, & explained the problem & the fix to us. The cost was 1/3 what had been charged by First Call. We were very pleased with Robben & Son.

Description of Work: CALLED ROBBEN AND SONS OUT TO REPAIR MY AIR CONDITIONER BUT ENDED UP HAVING THEM INSTALL A NEW ONE BECAUSE THE OLD ONE WAS UNREPAIRABLE. AS PART OF THIS SERVICE CALL, THEY ALSO INSPECTED AND SERVICED MY GAS FURNACE.
