Portland Homes managed a rental property of mine for almost four years, as I lived out of town. They started out as very responsive and performed quality management work for the first 2 1/2 to 3 years, with only one turnover in tenants and no other issues to deal with. When I needed a contractor to clean the roof and trim bushes and a tree in the yard, I was unhappy with the work of the contractor. I contacted the management company, as a few of the bushes that were stated to be trimmed were never trimmed, yet I paid for the service; the tree was butchered on one side and is now dieing, and I will now have to have the added expense of the tree being removed; and the roof started leaking at the next rain because the staples that were holding down the shingles were pulled out. When I brought this to the attention of Portland Homes, I received an unprofessional response. The contractors were contacted with my questions but Portland Homes never resolved these issues with the contractors. Next thing I knew, I was getting a notice from Portland Homes that they would no longer manage my property. As soon as I needed a management company to help me, they dropped me. Afterwards my tenant told me he called the management company a number of times when he needed something and he could not get them to respond. I would not recommend this company!
