The young man they sent out had no knowledge or experience and had to keep iming someone to ask what to do. I wanted him to leave, but he wouldn't. I seriously could not get this guy out of my house. I even signed up for a service I didn't want and planned to cancel just to try to get him to leave. Finally let him go check out my VOIP issue even though I knew he would do nothing just to try to get him to leave. Once he had ensured he was going to make a ton of money by charging an exorbitant amount for doing absolutely nothing, he finally left my house. The person who answers their phone is hostile and very unprofessional and will also not do anything. Just avoid these guys totally.

Hello!
Have used Nerds On Call a number of times in the last several months.
Nerds On Call set up a new computer and transferred data from the old computer. The fee for that was $229 which included a house call and three months free troubleshooting.
They have worked on various issues which came up over the three months. If the problem was not solved right away they would work until it was fixed.
I called yesterday (04-22-13) because the computer was not running well. It had some malware and/or a virus. After extending the service contract for one year for a flat fee of $250 they fixed the problems remotely.
Now I can call them whenever there is a problem and know that they will work until it's ok. They have also been patient with questions or when I did not understand. They have given tips and advice on computer use. Everyone, from the schedulers to the techs, has been courteous and professional.

They are not fixing this, or even acknoledging that this has happened. When I contacted them, the gatekeeper on the phone told me I should hang up and they will call me back. They did fix the problem back in September, but this is just unacceptable now.

Tyler came at the beginning of the half-hour window for the appointment. He was very professional and pleasant. To my pleasant surprise, when I turned on my computer, which had been off for days, it worked fine. I asked him if he wanted to reinstall the program I mentioned earlier, which I had deleted. Tyler was very honest with me, suggesting I install it myself in his presence, bcause if he did any work on my computer, I would be charged over $100 the minute he started. We decided, after I reinstalled the program and saw that it worked, that my computed warranted no further attention right now, so I should wait and see, which is what Tyler said he would do if this was his own computer. This was considered one of their free estimates. The visit lasted about 20 minutes, max. I definitely would call them again, as they were prompt, professional and, most of all, honest.

The guy sat down with me and straightened everything out. He did an excellent job. They charged me flat fee of $99 to come out to the house. For that $99 they sat down with me and answered all of my questions until I was satisfied. They are available 24 hours a day and also available via the internet, so I decided to purchase a subscription for $25 a month for continued service, if needed. I currently do not have the subscription but if I had any other issues I would not hesitate to call them again.

Without repeating what I just reported above, our repairman arrived on time, eliminated the unnecessary garbage that had accumulated in our computer and informed us of what we could expect in the near future. He offered several alternatives from adding new hardware to our existing equipment, or to purchasing a new computer, quoting prices for desk top and laptop models. They evidently have an arrangement with DELL and while they were good deals, I believe that similar equipment could be had for less at Fry's.
