JR was very intelligent, processional, prompt, and the price was reasonable. I was impressed with his abilities at finding the problem, and was relieved the issue was easily resolved. He did not try to sell me unnecessary work, parts, or try to sell me a new washer. JR has been added to my address book, and will be hired again.

After failing to get convenient appointments with two larger services, we called JR after hours. He came the next morning, efficiently diagnosed and explained the problem. He then disassembled the machine, completely repaired it and meticulously cleaned up all in half an hour! We highly recommend him.

The repair was made but as it turned out, the machine was just clogged with a small sock. I felt like I was kind of set up that this was an industry standard. The initial $90 to come out for diagnosis wasn't applied to the repair cost as expected. The final cost was $275. I feel I was overcharged for the service. I'm happy to have the clog fixed but I feel I was gouged with the price.

James has, once again, completed a repair in an exemplary manner. He is punctual and well organized. He carefully listens to the customer and thoroughly explains the repair process and options. He doesn't consider the job finished until a complete testing of the appliance. As far as I'm concerned, James sets the standard that other repair services should aspire to.

James is always prompt, courteous and very professional. When he came out earlier this year to fix my dryer and couldn't (it was a very tricky brand - a top loading) he didn't charge me anything. I trust JR to be honest and professional. He is my go to guy for appliance repair.

We were relatively pleased. We had him come out to repair a refrigerator, and he was unable to repair it. He suggested another company, so we got them. He did repair our dryer and washer successfully.

Repairman came same day I phoned. Installed part next day. Refrigerator cools to low temperatures now. Great service. I had him come for a clothes dryer service in January 2010 and was satisfied also.

Prompt, courteous, responsive (came that very day--before we lost any food due to defrost), described what he was going to do in detail and then did it. Left the area cleaner than it was before he started work! Left his contact info on the freezer (in the form of a magnet) and urged us to let him know if something was not done to our satisfaction. Before calling James Richardson, I briefly did a bit of comparison shopping for house calls for freezer repairs, and found his charges to be within $5.00 of the standard cost. (Mr. Richardson was actually $5.00 cheaper than the others.) James Richardson will be the first person we call whenever we have a need for any kind of household repair!

To JR Repairs and Installs: My wife was referred to you by angieslist.com. You were at my house Thursday, June 15, 2006, to repair our dryer and reinstall our dishwasher. You were here for approximately one hour. Your fee was $220, and I paid you with a check. Your service was unsatisfactory and your fee was excessive. You also were not forthright in the explanation of your fees when we spoke on the phone a day or so prior to your service call. An appropriate and reasonable fee for your services is $120 if the service was done well. Please refund at least $100 of the amount I paid you. I actually think I am due a full refund since the dryer still does not work and the screws you install for the dishwasher promptly fell out. J. Michael Burke

He was prompt, friendly, and thorough. During our chat he mentioned he does repairs and installations. I would definitely consider him for future installation work.

James was on time (a little early), very polite and professional, and this was a good price at $85/hr plus some materials. I had a contractor estimate it at double this amount for labor. His focus (from his card) is installation and repair of appliances, both large and small.
