+ -1 moreI needed to get the annual maintenance check on my furnace, humidfier and water heater. My initial email received a quick return email and phone call. The technician showed up on time and went right to work checking the furnace and cleaning the humidifier. He took one look at the water heater and said there wasn't anything he need to do there, so I wouldn't be charged for it. He also found a problem with the gas valve, which he demonstrated to me, and suggested that repairing it was probably covered by the furnace warranty (it was). So... quick turnaround on setting the appointment, showed up on time, got his work done with no fuss, and charged a fair price. A good experience; I will call them again when needed.

+ -1 moreI paid for the inspection of my furnace which was accomplished satisfactorily, but in addition the technician went out of his way to answer a lot of questions for me. This was a new house and I didn't understand the basics about my system. Also, he made a small alteration to help me install and hold my furnace filter more effectively. I will definitely call them again when I need heating service.

+ -1 moreCalled just after 8am and was told they could be out right away but would call 30 minutes prior. Was called back just before 9am and Chris arrived with my part in about 15 minutes. He checked over the furnace which had been serviced/repaired by another company for fan and electrical issues in August related to cooling. He replaced the thermocouple as requested. He also cautioned me on the age of my furnace (I know, it's the original so it's 41 years old now), needing regular safety checks and carbon monoxide monitoring as well as advising me to keep the vents open to avoid a fan limit tripping during heating. I'd closed off vents during air conditioning months to avoid the lower floors being too cold so this was good advice I'd not received before. I'll likely call them when we're able to afford replacing the furnace.
Description of Work: Knew my thermocouple needed replacing after having to relight pilot light in increasing frequency including three times in the prior 2 days.

From the first phone discussion to the end-of-work walk out the door everyone at Comfort Solutions was friendly and professional. Chris came in, analyzed the issue as the converter, then replaced it and voila! Appreciated the thorough testing of the furnace functionality afterward. The house is warm again - thanks!

+ -1 moreThe furnace was in good shape to begin with so there wasn't alot to do, but the technician cleaned the innards and made sure everything was working in top shape. It's good to get tune-ups on a regular basis to keep things working well and to give peace of mind for the heating season. He was delayed in showing up because earlier jobs took longer than expected, but that's the nature of the business.

When the Tec came he was very professional and quite personable. He was happy to take his time when explaining how to program the thermostat. I will call them again if I have any other heating and cooling needs.

+ -1 moreSince I paid a coupon price I expected the service to be somewhat regimented. When they diagnosed my problem and fixed it they were willing to come back out at no charge to make sure I was happy. I will use this company in the future if I have an air conditioning or heating problem.
Description of Work: This is my first experience with Angie's list. I had an older gas heater and air conditioning unit and needed a tune up. I saw the coupon price for "Comfort Solutions Heating & Cooling," at $69 for a 24 point A/C and or Furnace Tune-up. My air conditioning unit wasn't working well and upon the inspection the service technician determined I was low on freon. That problem was resolved by adding the necessary freon. After this was done the air conditioning unit ran 100% better. After this I had noticed the air conditioning unit was running without stopping set at 70 degrees during the hot months. When I called them back about the problem someone came back out at no charge and determined I needed a new thermostat. Amazingly enough they came back out and didn't charge me for the service call and I paid for a new digital thermostat and that resolved the problem. I have saved so much money after I replaced the thermostat. I had the chance to have 2 of the service technicians out that work at this company and they were both experts in this field. They were both so experienced and caring. I have to add that the office staff were so professional and caring and made this experience over the top.

They worked closely with the tenant for scheduling, diagnosed the problem promptly, and replaced the defective part. Susan was especially helpful, professional and friendly.

Description of Work: We had a gas furnace that had not been professionally serviced for over a decade other than putting in new filters every year. Since Angie's list had the $79 special for a 12 point furnace service by Comfort Solutions, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to do this. The service personnel opened up the furnace and found in the first 5 minutes that we had a cracked heat exchanger and the furnace must be shut down for safety reasons. We would need to purchase a new furnace. This diagnosis prevented us from a possible fire or carbon dioxide poisoning due to the now defective gas furnace. They showed us the crack with a camera photo to confirm the defect. The serviceman seemed knowledgeable and explained in detail what he had found.
