I have always had good service for my sewing machine, while making purchases and during classes. It's a very inviting store.
Description of Work: I had a basic sewing machine maintenance done on my Bernina - oiled, cleaned and minor adjustments. This was a "special offer" done by the store. I have also had burrs taken off my bottom tension hook at no charge, which were discovered while attending a class and having a tension issue.

Very efficient process for dropping machine off and picking it up. Service was performed within the timeframe they quoted. No issues here. Will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Cleaned and serviced machine and fixed an issue it had with going in reverse

While attending a quilting class, my machine had tension issues, so I borrowed one of the stores machines while they tried to fix mine. They made it worse, so much so that I couldn't use it at all! They said that it was because it was a Singer and they don't recommend them at all. To top it off, they were generally rude and dismissive. I won't be going back for classes or any other reason.

The next day I returned the pattern for a full refund. I was too embarrassed to admit that at the time of purchase I did not know it was a pattern; I thought it was a sewn purse insert. I showed my receipt to a sales clerk. She informed me that they do not refund returned patterns. This policy is printed on the bottom of the cash register receipt. The reason given is that in the past customers would buy a pattern, photocopy it and return it for a refund. I told them I did not photocopy the pattern. I told them my word is as good as the next person. I pleaded with them as a new customer and beginning sewer to refund my money. The clerk informed me that "even bookstores do not accept returned books." I told her I disagreed. Two more clerks chimed in against me. One handed me the owner's business card and suggested I call her in three days. I went home feeling humiliated and my personal integrity questioned. I filed a complaint with the BBB.
Description of Work: I am a beginning sewer and a new customer. I purchased what I thought was a sewn purse insert. The sales clerk did not inform me of sales return policies. I took it home and realized it was a sewing pattern. The pattern is too complicated for me. The word "pattern" does not appear on the package. I bought it as a gift.

This was the worst experience I've ever had with a vacuum repair shop. I called ahead of time to ask them how much it would be to replace the belt. The man on the phone told me $12.00. He also said I could bring the vacuum in anytime. I brought my vacuum in and told him that I only wanted the belt replaced. He said OK and told me to come back in later to pick it up. When I went to pick up the vacuum, the man was no longer there. A woman retrieved my vacuum and told me that it would be $45.00. She said that the man had replaced the roller brush and that it was going to cost and additional $33, so that my new total was $45. I told her that I did not want that service and never requested it. She argued with me and refused to correct the bill. I told her to remove the new brush and put my old roller brush back in. She said that they would not do that. We argued further. Finally she went to look for my old roller brush. She then went into the back for a long time and left me waiting. Eventually she returned and said that they had switched the brush back to the old one. I paid and took my vacuum out to the car. The woman then came out the the parking lot and handed me several plastic pieces saying that they came from my vacuum, but she did not know where they went. I was furious and left. P.S. There new address is: 15230 SW Sequoia Parkway Portland, OR 97224. This is the same company that used to be on 65th on Lake Oswego. My experience was at their new address.
Description of Work: I needed to replace a belt on my vacuum cleaner - a simple job that I've had done many times and runs me between $10-$15.

I HAVE A MIELE VACUUM AND THEY HAVE TAKEN CARE OF ME ALWAYS. THE SERVICE IS GREAT AND THEY ALWAYS CALL ME AND TELL ME WHAT IS HAPPENING AND HOW MUCH LONGER IT WILL BE TO GET MY VACUUM DONE. THEY ALSO LET ME BORROW A VACUUM UNTIL MINE WAS FIXED. THEY ARE REALLY GREAT PEOPLE AND THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF.
Description of Work: I HAVE HAD MY VACUUMS REPAIRED THERE FOR YEARS AND THEY ARE A GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE.
