WELDON'S CLEANING CENTERS

When I went to pick up the cleaned clothing at the Ashland branch, I noticed the navy blue Italian wool slacks had a faded, lighter spot on the back rear pocket. This was where my husband had backed into a butter knife and was pointed out to the cleaner at the time of drop off. I pointed this out to the clerk who noticed the cleaning tag stated "spot cleaning was not successful in removing the stain." The clerk stated she would return the pants to the main store (Medford) to be looked at. I refused to pay for the cleaning as the pants were basically ruined with the very noticeable faded spot and was not willing to pay for the cleaning that ruined the garment. I was given a receipt and the card that accompanied the pants with notes about the spot treatment. My husband then began a 9-10 month campaign to get the manager/owner of Weldon's Cleaners to acknowledge or rectify the situation. The manager at the Medford store stated it was impossible that Weldons would spot clean a butter stain as dry cleaning was a natural grease remover. My husband then provided a copy of the notation about the spot cleaning and was told the owner would have to deal with the issue. My husband phoned weekly for 12 weeks and then monthly for 9 months but never received even a return call from the owner of the company. He lost a pair of very high quality slacks purchased at Nordstroms as well as time and energy pursuing justice for the debacle. Weldons will never touch another of our garments and we tell everyone about the horrible way we were treated by their business.
