Jeff was great! He returned our call the same day. We explained the problem we were having and gave him the imformation for our big screen TV. He gave us an estimate for the repairs right then, over the phone. He was on time for the appointment and after a little more than an hour, our TV was up and running. He had also replaced some old cables and checked the TV to make sure everything else was working well. We will definitely call him the next time we need any kind of TV repair. Thank you Jeff for your geat servicve.

Geoff was very pleasant, punctual and professional. Always told me ahead of time what was going to happen next. Would definitely refer him in the future. Very good experience.
UPDATE 4/22/15: Repaired TV only worked for 4 days then went out again. Geoff scheduling another appointment to hopefully fix completely this time.
UPDATE 5/4/15: Geoff replaced a few more circuit boards repairing HDMI connectors (at no extra cost), delivered TV to me, and now it works perfectly. Very satisfied customer. Excellent service.

First I want to say thank you Jeff! I appreciate your great service and reasonable pricing very much!! Your clearly very knowledgeable and efficient! I highly recommend Already There Repair, and you will be the first person I call if I have any other home appliance/electronics repair needs!
After researching possible issues with my 2 yr old 55" LCD HD television, I realized it was an issue outside my ability to fix. Initially I called for a quote to a nearby "big name" business. Overall experience . . .left me looking elsewhere.
I looked on Angie's List and saw the great recommendations for Already There Repair. I called on a Sunday and got voice mail - no surprise, I left a message. The surprise was that I got a call back that day! I spoke with Jeff, and explained the issue I was experiencing. Based on their database of repairs, Jeff was able to give me a best guess on the issue and a very reasonable quote for repair if that was the problem all within 5 minutes of being on the phone with him. He did explain that once he knew which board my television needed, it would take about 10 days for the part to be delivered and for him to complete the repair. I agreed to his terms.
Jeff came to my house, took my television off the wall mount for me, did some testing and confirmed his suspicions. He took my television with him so he could install the new board when it came in and do testing where he had the equipment to do so.
A week later Jeff called back to say all done, the board arrived faster than expected and he'd completed the repair. He was out the next day. re-mounted the TV, made sure all my peripheral devices were connected and working (PC, Wii, DVD, sound, etc) and re-tuned the channels.
His quote for service & repair was exactly what he told me, no after the fact or unexpected additional expenses.
Jeff gave me times he'd be at my home for both appointments, and was really prompt! He was polite, professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and he makes house calls! I appreciated Already There Repairs service, and will use them again if I have any other home appliance issues arise.

Response from ALREADY THERE REPAIR
"[member name removed] Thank you again for choosing my company. I am very sorry you were not satisfied with our charges. The lamp was $141.50 which included 2nd day air shipping. DLP lamps are not stocked widely like they used to be and we purchased the original lamp for you not some knock off that would only last 6 months. As I had shown to your friend the TV itself was very dirty inside and the young man that beat on the TV caused some other minor problems that we corrected. We spent close to two hours including a second trip back to you to install the lamp and complete the cleaning of your television. You were only charged $95 for the 2 trips and 2 hours labor. I thought you had felt these charges were fair and had been discussed with you prior to authorizing repair. I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this. I hope you will still consider us for any future needs. I will always be up front about parts and labor charges. Being in this industry for over 30 years I remain very competitive and stand behind my work. Foremost thank you again for choosing us and I hope we can service your electronic needs in the future. Our ViewSonic Model # VS10848-1W, 33"(?) would NOT turn on easily. We'd have to keep the button pressed down 3 to 8 minutes, while the indicator light flickered over & over. After months of this, we couldn't stand it any more. Apparently it's a common problem since I could read online about the parts failing. Otherwise, once on, the TV worked fine.
Jeff replied promptly to my message, offering to do the repair right away. I missed the message yesterday, found it this morning and called. Pleasantly surprised to learn he could still make the repair today and was here within a couple hours. He has a traveling brace that unfolds and he could set our large, thin screen tv on it - much like a canvas on an easel.
I really appreciate that he could come to our house. It spared me wrangling the lg TV up & down 17 steps / into & out of the car / and traveling to a shop. Instead, he was here promptly. Very pleasant, amiable fellow. Not too chatty, not too quiet. Just right. I kept busy nearby and enjoyed the bit of conversation but mostly let his concentrate on his work.
He did show me the electronic panels with several parts having bulgy-not-flat-tops, indicative of failure. Well...the TV is 9 or 10 years old. Anyhow, I wasn't inclined to just go shop for a replacement tv. I figure this company just gave us years more of TV life from our Viewsonic.
I'd call them again.

I called Already There because I had nothing on TV but green screen. They gave me best and worst estimate on the spot and were at my home within an hr. of when I said okay. Jeff Mathia arrived, said he wanted to check out a couple things before taking the TV, and within 15 minutes had determined the problem wasn't the TV, but the DVR and was able to reset that and have me up and running again! Only charged for the reasonably priced service call and made my day! Obviously I was more than pleased and they will be my first call for any future problems. Thanks again, Jeff.

I've had Geoff out twice in about a year to do some maintenance on my plasma big screen. There was a wide black line, approx. 2 inches wide, running vertically through my screen. I'd called a couple places that would provided tv repair service, got a variety of quotes. I had given all the shops the make and model of my tv, they had quoted me prices between $130 and > $300 to replace a board, worse case. Geoff had told me over the phone that if the problem was with one particular board/connection that it was not replaceable by manufacturer design as it was integrated to the screen.
One place quoted me a $50 diagnostics charge (applicable towards repair charge) but it would be 0 charge if he couldn't fix my tv (even though he would have to come from east of Portland out to the western suburbs to pick up/deliver my tv). I almost went with that guy but decided to take a chance on Geoff as he'd do the diagnostics and, if possible, the repair at my place.
Geoff resolved the problem by cleaning up connections - the problem was with the board/cable integrated to the screen. The black line went away. We could still see a light outline where the edges of the line had been but it was very faint.
That lasted for about 5-6 months before the we started seeing the greenish tinted thick line begin to come back periodically (that is how the problem first manifested). At about the 7 month mark the line came back solid black again intermittently. After about 3 days of that I didn't hesitate to call Geoff back. He told me he would be happy to come back and clean the line again but could not guarantee that it would work. He came out, gave it quick clean (I think it took longer for us to move the tv and him to remove/replace the screws than it did for him to clean the connections). We're black line free again.
I appreciate his integrity and professionalism. Others less ethical might've taken my tv to their shop, cleaned the connection, verified the line was gone and then charged me for "board replacement" with a 30 or 90 day guarantee and I would have been none the wiser.
He's earned my trust and repeat business.

We were having a problem with an older VCR where the picture was very grainy and we were unable to resolve it ourselves.
We called Already There Repair and they came out to our house to look it over. Not too many places even do this anymore. He quickly found the heads were very sticky (kids!) and cleaned them, which resolved the problem. He also suggested what we could buy (one use cleaners) so we wouldn't have to call someone in the future - that advice was very nice to get. Very fast & professional service.

We couldn't have been more pleased with Jeff's professionalism, efficiency, speed, and his price, and would definitely use him again if needed for TV repair. Thank you Angie's List!
