Nice people and we have had them do repair and service work in the past with great satisfaction, but this job was just quoted way too high in comparison to others with like equipment.
I would recommend people to contact them for their needs as they are a reputable company.
Then we called Honke for a second opinion. They were prompt and professional. They inspected the unit and told us it was just a blown fuse. They fixed it right away. They were honest and fair. They didn't try to take advantage of us like the other Gresham heating and air conditioning company we called. Honke is the best! Just call them, skip all headaches. These are good people!
He did warn us that once the condensate lines are removed that they could crack and should we see any leaking to call him back. Over the next couple days we saw some leaking called him back and he sent someone over to install a new condensate trap and adapter fittings for $229.
approximately 20 years old, and we felt it was probably at the end of it's useful life. What expedited our decision to replace the heat pump was a major problem that occurred with the air handler unit. We discovered the problem after having a Honke HVAC service technician come out to initially evaluate the viable life of the original Ruud heat pump. Before the heat pump was looked at, though, we asked the technician to evaluate a loud noise we were noticing in the air handler. This is when we discovered the old air handler was needing immediate and expensive repairs. Because of this, we opted to replace both the air handler and the heat pump with Ruud equipment; one of the system options carried by Honke. The salesman, Rick Coleman, was very courteous, spending much time with us, explaining options. On May 30, 2013 the Honke installer came promptly at a predetermined time, and efficiently removed and replaced all the old equipment, with the new system. The installation took the better part of a day and a half. As part of the process an electrician from Bullseye Electric, hired by Honke, came to wire the new unit into our home's electrical system. All in all, Honke sales, service and office staff, and the electrician from Bullseye Electric, did a professional and gratifying job. I would highly recommend both Honke Heating and Air Conditioning and Bullseye Eye electric from my experience with both companies.
