If you care about the quality of the job over pinching every last penny, Richard is the guy for you. We had full trust in his experience, work ethic and professionalism. Every aspect of what he did came out just perfectly! He was easy to communicate with, showed up on time, left the work site perfectly clean and gave us the kind of paint job we would done for ourselves if we could have. The kind of paint job you'd carefully do on your own beloved home.

Things were overlooked and balls were dropped. That's my fault and I'm sorry. I tell myself "I'll get back to that person" then a dozen things come up and It's a month later. I will make an effort to stay organized in the future so this doesn't happed to another home owner. I'm very sorry it happened to you. Rick and his partner did a very professional job. He was very detailed oriented while getting the job done ahead of schedule. This two story 3300 sq. ft. home was long over due so it required a lot of extra work. Rick handled the job with thoroughness and expertise. We are very satisfied with the finished product!! We will be having him back to paint the interior.

Communication problems. Initial visit was for estimate inspection. He explained what he would do as he inspected outside of house. He gave verbal estimate and we accepted expecting written estimate in followup. Due to rains job understandably delayed. Had to contact him for updates. Requested a written estimate several times. Finally told written estimate not given until start date. First time experience. Most companies give written estimate within days of initial visit. At unannounced visit in followup seemed to forget some actions to be taken. Then a few days later another communication difference over the phone. Finally stated if we were not satisfied we could cancel. Believe problem due to lack of written estimate which would have contained agreed upon actions to be done and any instructions. Would not have had to rely on faulty memories of both parties over time. Was not a good experience and caused subsequent unnecessary delay.

Once I was able to pin Rick down and get job scheduled, it went extremely well. He and his crew were very personable, communicative and worked very hard. They finished the job in less than a week. And my house is pretty big. I would recommend Rick for any painting job, he did great work and is a good person.

It went great, couldn't be happier. Highly recommend it was really a pleasant experience. Am going to hire Rick again next year to do my interior, can't wait. The house that is brown was the before picture which was very depressing colors, now it is so bright and cheerful I just love it. Rick and Chuck did a wonderful job, thanks guys!

Richard and his crew were very professional, on time and had great attitudes overall. We have 4 dogs and two love to bark! They handled that all in stride. The paint job overall came out fabulously! They even paid attention to even the smallest details. They gave us detailed information to make good decisions in getting a professional finish. We were EXTREMELY happy with Richard and his team and the finished job! We highly recommend Richard Shier Painting!

EXCELLENT! Richard and his crew did an excellent job on our home. He was very prompt when we called for an estimate and gave a very competitive bid. He explained everything he would do as far as prepping our home for paint including pressure washing and priming certain areas that needed additional care and how long the job would take. He covered up all area's once the painting began and let us know each day what would be done. He's very professional and we'd definitely recommend him to everyone. We'll be call him again when we need more painting done! Thanks for all your hard work Richard!

Our home was in dire need of paint, but a lot of prep work had to be done before that could happen due to poor previous work and it's age. We've had a lot of house painting accomplished on homes over the years and this was, by far, some of the best, most professional work done. He was the only person who gave us extensive detailed information during the estimate as to what he would do to fix problems, types of paint, and made us comfortable the job would be a good one. Just the prep work alone took two of them a couple of days. There was a lot of detail work involved in the painting that included a huge 12 x 30 ft screened in porch with wide sills all the way around, wood trim on all the huge screens and carpeted with carpet squares. Not only the trim wood was painted, inside and out on those screens, but also the porch house wall, the half walls and the ceiling. Not one drop of paint was left on either the screens or the carpet. That was amazing. They also take off all the gutters, light fixtures, and anything else affixed to the home, then re-affix them when done. We have a lot of floral and bushes around the base of the home, They took great care not to disturb those any more than needed. They covered everything. We highly recommend Richard. His personality, professionalism and punctuality were wonderful. Plus....... he plays great tunes while he works and he sings pretty darn good too! Richard and his crew are really nice guys.

"Thank you for taking the time to leave me a review. I appreciate your positive words and if there was overspray or drips on the plants I apologize. That is not the level of quality we strive for. I'd like you to give me a call and if I can do something to make that right I am happy to do so. As for the screens, We mask all windows with plastic (you may remember seeing that) so paint, whether drip or over spray, never comes in contact with a home owner's windows or screens. However, I did some touch up after the masking was removed, so if there are drips that may be when that happened. I apologize. That is not consistent with our high standards for quality. Please call me so we can get that taken care of to your satisfaction Rick"

The job went great. Rick was accommodating under the time constraints we were under and was very communicative during the entire process. He is easy to work with and very professional. It was a great experience loved the crew their very hard workers one day they were here from 10:00 A.M. till 8:30 P.M. Got done a day ahead of schedule.They power washed the house and scraped the old paint off. I have to say I'm hooked on "Miller Paint" it went on nice and smooth and really made our old house restored to it's original beauty. Jason & Justin and their good friend Travis were the crew here and they did everything we asked of them. It's really hard these days to find someone who pays attention to details and what the customer wants these guys did just that. I would tell anyone who needs painters to hire them. We called three other painters and either they didn't get back to us or their bid was just to outrageous. They cleaned up the mess afterwards and hug up a few things they had to take down while painting. .

Went well, blessed by weather, and was completed despite one day of rain, neighbor requested Richard's business card and in discussion with me was surprised about low price. Five bids ranged from $5,000, $8,000, and $14,500 with one not submitting a bid.). House had been painted ten or more years ago and it was weathered with some loose siding, frayed laminated doors--along with rotted fascia--and damaged garage door. Preparation included masking of all surfaces needing protection (windows, meters, decks, walks, etc). Not an accidental drop any where.

Richard Shier (Rick) and his son's Jason and Justin just completed the interior paint work on our house. Words are not enough to express the fantastic professional job done. They arrived every morning with a smile and got right to work. As each room was completed, we could not believe the attention to detail having to caulk and paint all base boards, removing all electrical covers, ceiling fans, curtains, cable tv equipment, door handles, doors and anything else I didn't mention, then reinstalling everything back correctly. The quality of the painting to the walls, doors, base boards and caulking was perfect. Rick is a true artist in his field. He help us with making decisions on some changes he brought to our attention that was the right choices. They had to clean up someone else's poor work, and what a difference! Finding a true professional was a blessing for us. Rick and his son's are very caring people and take pride in their work. Look no further for a quality painting contractor!! AMAZING!! There are absolutely no words to describe how pleased I am with Richard and his sons, Justin and Jason, and our experience with their business in painting our home. Richard provided a fast and clear estimate to paint our home, (which was very dark brown with even darker brown trim) - to a beautiful white with black shutters. This of course took extra care to ensure coverage and quality. Honestly, I have never seen such care taken by any prior contractor I have ever dealt with. The quality of their work is unsurpassed!
Richard, Justin and Jason were not only professional and thorough they went above and beyond the scope of work including caulking at the doors, nailing down some loose boards, power washing our back deck when they power washed the house...honestly I probably cannot remember half of them right now!!!
I will definitely use Richard Shier again and have already gotten a quote for some interior painting - I honestly and wholeheartedly recommend them!
