The contractor requested us to have our payment in full to be considered for start date. I have attempted to get a hold of the contractor starting 1/14/25 and have not been able to make contact. The last response I got from them was 12/29/24. I've sent 2 text messages, made 2 phone calls(from different phones), sent 2 emails, and outreached through your messaging system. There has been no attempt on their end to get a hold of me or James, my husband, who signed the contract. They informed us upon signing that we would be contacted within 30 days for scheduling of the project with guaranteed start date within 60 days of signing the contract

We signed a contract and made a pretty big good faith deposit in August with a hopeful, tenetative start date of October. We texted for check ins and very rarely received a response. Dohn scheduled times to come out to meet with us TWICE to help measure but no called/no showed. All our texts are left on read. After requesting to cancel the contract he asked for more time stating that he was having a hard time maintaing workers and was doing most of the work himself. He gave us a guaranteed start date of 11/25, we were out of town that week for thanksgiving and asked for 11/29 instead. On 11/30, we texted for a check in and eta of project start and never heard back. We lost faith due to his lack of communication and respect to our concerns and emailed our request to cancel contract and receive our deposit back. Still no reply. It appears he’s taken our money and ran. Proceed with caution.

Dohn & crew are excellent craftsmen. They were able to complete the job quickly & to a high level of quality. Dohn worked patiently with us to ensure we had the outcome we wanted, kindly providing options to us & informing us along the way. We are very impressed & happy!

Dohn’s bid was accurate and fair. His crew was always in time, were easy to communicate with, and cleaned up at the end of everyday. They worked through snow, rain and cold! We would hire Dohn again!

Dohn came right away and sent me a bid in two days. He and he competent workmen were a pleasure to work with, answered all my questions and the front of my house is beautiful I have received many favorable complements from my neighbors.

We contacted Cowles Custom Remodel when we noticed water damage under our soffit. Turns out the part of the roof lacked proper support and Dohn was able to remediate the situation. Dohn and his crew were great to work with. Very easy to talk to, easy to schedule, punctual and methodical. Dohn stayed in contact through the entire process and was able to finish the work before the rain came and the new beam looks great!

Fantastic! Dohn and his crew were very professional, clean, efficient and expert craftsmen. We were offered A+ choices of materials and the end result of our bathroom remodel exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely hire them again in the future and highly recommend them for anyone exploring a remodeling project!

Dohn and team did excellent work. They were able to replace major sections of Fascia without needing to replace gutter. Very complete and quality work and recommended material. Very knowledgeable about water damage and what to look for, including fixing to prevent in the future. Addressed other areas around siding that had signs of, or potential for, further water damage. Handled followup work with no problem. Work looks really good. So glad to not see signs of dry rot anymore. Their work just looks like it is part of the house.

We were extremely pleased with the job. They were honest and straightforward about what did and did not need to be done, did an exceptional job, and the price quoted was reasonable. They came on time each day, cleaned everything up at the end of the day, and explained everything they did as they went along. Very professional overall and we can highly recommend.

We first hired them after my sister had been so pleased with the work they had done for her on her roof repairs. We knew our siding MIGHT need to be replaced, but needed a professional to check it out. He was incredibly HONEST and told us that our siding had at least 8-10 more years in it. Now, Dohn could have easily told us that it needed to be replaced, we would never have known. But instead he was honest and suggested what he could do to repair the areas that had the most sun exposure etc. That saved us thousands and thousands of dollars, and cost him in lost business. We were so impressed with the job they did on repair and painting that we hired them again this year to remodel most of our kitchen. We are do it yourselfers in many areas and he was again so honest. Told us that he would do whatever we did not feel comfortable doing. This again, saved us a lot of money and cost him days of work. I would highly recommend this company. The owner, Dohn, also knew my husband was recovering from cancer and made sure to make every possible accommodation as far as cleanliness, safety etc. We will hire them again in the future, without a doubt.

Dohn was great to work with. There were a few delays due to special order siding and employees not showing up but all in all the project turned out great. We did spend more than anticipated as a result of hourly charges for the dry rot and siding repair/replacement but figured if we were going to fix the exterior it needed to be done right. It looks like a totally different house with many compliments from passersby.

It went great! My old fence blew down in a storm. Cowles was on it immediately providing an estimate in one day and then getting started three days later. The high quality work exceeded my expectations. Dohn Cowles was always punctual, got the job done when he said he would, and even offered to work over Thanksgiving (I said no thanks).

It turned out very well. It looks beautiful! They came out on time and were done when they promised. They did the desired task and cleaned up well. They were not the cheapest bid, but they did not change the bid once they started and went above and beyond. We are thinking of hiring them again.
