RV Sales & Service, Auto Service
Indio spent less than 1 hour tinkering with the cooling unit. He disconnected and cut wires trying to bypass the propane connection leaving only the electric connection to see if that would work. We were instructed to turn the unit on and leave it on for 24 hours to see if it would begin to cool. It did not. He came back out and told us that we were just going to have to buy a new refrigerator because the one we had was not fixable. We were not able to afford that purchase at that time..He billed us $130.00 for less than 2 hours of mostly chatting with my husband about their respective military service....
Six months later we contacted a RV repair shop in Florence, OR about possibly a used refrigerator. We were then told that they could replace our cooling unit instead of the whole refrigerator. We were quoted a price of $1600.00 for the job.. We set up an appointment time to do just that. We were told that the job would be finished in one business day. Which was great as we live fulltime in our motorhome. It took two entire business days to get the job done because Indio of Alpha RV Repair had disconnected and cut wires totally into many pieces. It took several hours longer for the Florence repairman to replace the cut and missing wires and parts. The mechanic at Florence RV was absolutely stunned at the mess that he found when he took the refrigerator out. The total cost of installing the new cooling unit was $2121.03 not to mention that we had to spend a nite in a motel and two days of sitting in the car waiting to get our home back. Then we also had the added expense of having to buy three meals at resturants because we could not get back into our home for an extra 24 hours.
Under NO circumstance would my husband and I recommend this business or this man to do any job on anything we own.....
