They are so honest. They told me nothing needed to be done right now and I should wait for one year.

I got them through Angie's List and it was terrific. They gave us a 10% discount for using Angie's List. They came out and even cleaned my entire yard. I would call them back again. They are a family owned business and they are really good. I liked their technical expertise. They used a pulley system and climbing gear to make sure the tree's didn't fall onto the other persons house and boat. It was pretty good. I thought the price was average. I have them ready for another project and I would highly recommend them.

I won't use them again because they don't accept credit cards and I wasn't told upfront. We set up the appointment for the work and he was getting in his truck to leave and I said I will have a credit card ready to pay when the work was done. THAT'S when he told me no credit cards accepted! His employee told me some customers don't know this and get very upset when told only cash or checks ! He says fees are too high...... Will use another service next time.

They did an excellent job. They were very professional and cleaned everything up. In fact, they even took away some brush that wasn’t ours. I called up the guy and he said that he would be here in about half an hour and he showed up probably within 15 minutes.

Great! Their telephone was answered immediately. Someone came out within the hour to look at the damage, then scheduled a time for the crew to arrive. The crew arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. NOTE: This was the day after the strong windstorm here in Portland. I called five other tree services, three would not answer their telephones, one answered and said they would call back. There must have been nine or ten trees down in my neighbor hood alone! I was the first one to get service from anyone. I have since recommended J & R to a friend, and she was very happy with their advice and work.

David came out to do the work. The price seemed a little high for the work that was done. However, they did the work extremely fast, cleaned up very well, and he used all new equipment. He also came on the same day that I requested it and he was very pleasant.

Everything went well, and they did a wonderful job. They came out the day after we called, they gave us a good deal in terms of price, and they did a decent job of removing the tree and debris.

Dan went out to give me a bid for a tree removal which came in at $2700.00 a real shock to me. I asked him politely if he could do better on the price, and he said he could do it for $2200.00 if he left the wood. I asked him about doing the tree removal for $1000.00, and he responded with "no i wouldn't be interested", in an arrogant tone. This was NOT an emergency job, however i think he was quoting me emergency rates or something!!? I called another tree service a high profile tree service on Angies list also, who used a crane / boom truck and took all the wood for $1080.00 the same day!! THAT IS LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE!!. J and F is very expensive, and there is NO NEED to pay these rates to get your tree services done. Sorry to say I was disappointed with J and F. Ironically I was referred to them with high recommendations by a friend, however he did warn me about their prices, which is more than true, and he now knows about my experience with J and F as well. It really pays to shop around and get bids, this is a lot of money for the two hours it took two men with a crane truck and chipper to removal all the debris and take away the tree debris. I received an excellent job from another tree service company for less than half the cost, and will use that company again in the future!!.

They were really great. They were thorough, harworking, very reasonably priced, did a great job and cleaned up all the debris. The stump that we needed removed was too close to our foundation so they had to dig it out by hand! I really appreciated them taking the time to do it by hand so as not to damage our foundation. They also cut all the larger limbs that were trimmed into firewood for us! I would highly recommend them.

I can't say enough about how understanding J & F was of our situation. My wife and I first contacted John on Tuesday to see if we could get someone from his crew out to our new property to take a look at some problem trees that were overhanging our home's roof, and also very close to the electric service for the home. It was a special situation because we were running out of time on our inspection period the next day! I was very impressed that John called us back that evening, and even returned several calls quite late into the evening as we worked to set up a good time for his crew to visit the property. Even though it was short timing, they were able to visit the property as promised the next day (the last day of our inspection period). My wife was able to meet them on-site, and paid for the estimate so we could get a fast report to submit with our addendum. They were able to give us a nice write-up on the spot, and also promised a more formal write up to include in our paperwork. It was very very helpful to have Dan quote this work for us. It was a very unusual, late notice, tight timeline call, and John and Dan did everything they could to help us. We very much appreciate them being able to help us, and would recommend them highly to anyone that needs tree care.

Prompt service, excellent price ($450 versus $3,050 from another bid) and job well done. Christy from the office was nice as well.

This is the second time I have used J and F Tree Service. The first time was last year, they removed some trees from our property. Last year we reviewed excellent service and I did not hesitate calling them back again this year. John and Kristi run a top notch business. The crew worked hard and made sure to ask me if they trimmed all the branches obstructing our view. Next time I need a tree service I will be calling J and F.

They showed up on time, answered all of our questions, cleaned up after working, and cleaned up our neighbor's yard as well.

The project went very well, crew very professional and fast. We thought the price was fair for the work that was needed. We would recommend their services.

Called J&F for a quote, response time was VERY FAST. They called me back and had a person come out and quote within 30 minutes of me calling. They had the tree trimmed within 2 hours of me calling them for the quote. Very good response time, and fair price. I would def. use them again if I need other tree services performed.

We have used J & F a few years ago, and decided to try them again for a rental property we bought. John met us there on-time for a estimate which he gave to us after he looked around. We asked him when they could start, and he said the following week. He called the next Monday and said they were getting started. After they finished we found out the neighbors had used them before and were quite happy with there work. They removed 3 trees and trimmed 20 other trees, and cleaned up. The place looks like a beautiful park now. We would hire them again.

I was very pleased with their service. They did extensive pruning in our yard. They brought 5 workers out and got every tree in our yard taken care of, which is a lot of trees. They also took care of our gardens by not stepping through any of them and being very careful. They did everything exactly as I asked them to do, and had no problem working in the pouring rain. They cleaned everything up after they were done, and we were so happy with the results.

They came out to give me a free estimate and then showed up for work the next day. They were on time and worked very efficiently. They did a great job avoiding the traffic, including a bus, that came while they were completing the work. I wanted them to trim the tops of the tree only but they advised if I were to do so the tree would need maintenance again within the year. They trimmed the lower half of the tree to ensure that I wouldn't need any significant maintenance for three years. They made sure to remove all the debris as well. When I called to set up the appointment, Kristy the receptionist was pleasant to speak with. They were extremely informative with the job details as well as routine maintenance. They have come out to my home before and I believe their price was fair especially considering they had to deal with traffic hazards while working.

The whole process could not have gone better. They answered all my questions and made sure I had all the needed info for the process. They were friendly, quick, and the job was done EXACTLY as promised. I wish all services were this efficient!

This is a well run company! From the very first contact I was impressed by the professionalism and responsiveness of the people I spoke with on the phone. I was told that the estimator would be at my house between 3 and 5 PM. Sure enough, close to 4 PM not one but two people were on site - one being the owner. The lady answering the phone called to say they were on their way - Great communication. We walked the property and 20 minutes later I had a firm bid and an indication that if accepted, they could do the work two days later ( Today). I had gotten two other quotes and J & F was right in the middle. I never pick a a low bid and usually discard the high one. Their price was very fair for the work involved. They were very concerned that I was an Angie's list customer and that they would live up to expectations. They said they would arrive at 7:30 AM this morning. 7:35 AM, they were on site and the work commenced. Safe, efficient, courteous to neighbors, respectful of the property - I couldn't ask for more. By 10:30 AM they were completely finished. No debris, no mess no problems. You can't ask for more!

A storm knocked the tree down, called got a quote and they came out an hour later. Had the the job done in an hour an a half. Great guys. Highly recommend and will use their services again!

A tree crashed in my yard and they cut it up and removed all the debris. They came out fast and did a good job.

Went Great. The team was very polite, effiecient and profressionsional. I got two other estimates from similar companies and they were all competitive, but their knowledge and feedback is what sealed the deal with them. Only nit-pick is that the team didn't put the outdoor furniture back in place. Beyond spending the $, it was a great experience!
