James was easy to work with and did a good job in documenting our agreements of work to be done, always prompt for meetings.  Helped with suggestions on layout, design and colors.  Enjoyed working with him and he delivered what he promised.

I called James to look at two bathroom remodeling projects.  He came as scheduled and said he would get back to me with a price. I never heard from him again.  After a few weeks, I emailed him through Angie's List to find out what happened.  Still no response.  What a way to do business.

it went okay, the schedule was always changed, and this took longer to finish then first esitmate.
Response from TSG Renovations
"I apologize things didn't go as planned. We always strive to do our best with being accurate on our timeframes/scheduling. Since we had to reschedule per your request we tried to work you in much shorter notice than normal, this caused scheduling conflicts with other jobs. There is no excuse for this, the job did take longer than said. I am sorry for the way things turned out but I hope you'll let us make it up to you in the future."

We were generally pleased with the work.  James Lambert and his employees were easy to deal with.  The paint on the porch trim began peeling off after a few weeks and James quickly sent someone out to fix the problem with no hassles.  That impressed me more than the problem upset me.  We would use The Service Guy again.

He did an excellent job.  The rooms were completed in the time promised and we were happy with the finished projects.  James seemed interested in making sure the work was done correctly and that we were pleased with each step of the remodeling.  His employees were friendly, hard workers and cleaned up the areas after each day's work.  James purchased equipment to minimize the dust during the "demo" part of the job.  We love our bathrooms and highly reccommend The Service Guy.

Excellent is the best word to describe our experience. We went on vacation and returned home to a gorgeous, new guest bath. I love that bathroom. James was patient with us, always answered our texts or phone calls while we were trying to pick out product. We had no worries about leaving our house key with him while we were on vacation. He is an honest, reputable man. His crew did such great work that we had them repaint our master bedroom and install crown molding, new trim, and a new ceiling fan while we were on vacation in December. We're looking forward to having him remodel our master bath.

The tile looks excellent. We have a raised wood floor so they put half inch cement board for a base and we used 18 square tile. They  didn’t have to pull up the old  Linoleum so he cut some of the labor charge that was in the estimate. He showed me the layout  before he started and explained why he was starting at a certain place and if it was alright with me. They worked with me when I thought about going with a diamond pattern at the last minuet, but I didn’t have enough tile. Glad we went with the bullnose for the baseboard trim. We ran into some problems with having raised the floor up one inch. (½ baseboard mortar plus tile). There was lack of clearance under the back door and a one inch step from the living room carpet to kitchen tile that creates a stumbling hazard until you get used to it. Overall we are very satisfied with the work. Would like to have them to do our countertops when we get ready.

James was able to give us a quote on the spot and immediately begin work. Eventually, he charged us less than his estimate because he finished much quicker than he had anticipated. We will be using The Service Guy to finish the plumbing in our kitchen remodel as well.

James came out the day after we called him and gave us an estimate the very next morning.  No waiting around for a week like we've seen with other contractors.

These big projects are always a hassle, but James did all he could to minimize the pain.  He communicated very well and we talked to him every day about "this and that."  We encountered some issues along the way, as expected, but all were addressed and we are very happy.  The phone is always answered, and emails are always returned.  This is the way in which contractors should be expected to conduct business.

James was very gracious about the issues we raised during the process and never made us feel like we were annoying him with our little changes and requests, and that means a lot.  His crew was friendly and respectful.

For what it's worth, we're remodeling our next bathroom a lot earlier than we expected solely because of our positive experience with The Service Guy.

James and his crew started on September 26th and demo'd our master bath.  They installed tile that was chosen and purchased by us.  James installed or coordinated (sometimes helped us coordinate) the installation of custom cabinetry, mirrors, electrician (along with moving outlets and fixtures), granite, resurfacing of the bath tub, and painting of our master bath.

James also demo'd our kitchen counter tops and installed granite.  He demo'd and replaced all of the window sills throughout our home with granite sills.

There were 3 projects all together and they took approximately 4 weeks to complete and would have been completed sooner had it not been for the wait on the mirror contractor.

We recommend The Service Guy very highly and hope he will be available for our next project.

We were not pleased. The price was only for the labor. There is a crack in one of the tiles and one of the tiles is sticking up higher than the other ones so they are not even. I stubbed my toe on it. They were nice. He just tiled right over the concrete. We are not pleased at all.
Response from TSG Renovations
"First let me say that I am sorry that you are unhappy with the tile, please give us a chance to make it up to you. I would be glad to come out personally to fix any problems you may have. We do our best to make every customer happy and every job look good for a lifetime, our job is to make your home beautiful. I hope we get the chance to make you happy James Lambert"

We had very less communication. The job took two weeks, when it could have been done in probably three days. Some of the materials which we went to purchase weren’t the ones which they wanted to use. They did not give us the guideline on what to purchase. So communication was really bad. The job turned out quiet nice. One of the tiles has cracked. I wouldn’t use them again in the future.

Very impressed with James.  James was knowledgeable and very professional.  We were getting estimates to help us decide whether to purchase the house.  We did not buy this house, so no work was done.

Everything proceeded very quickly and close to schedule.  The finished product was beautiful and completely satisfactory.  Some of the work involved some very messy demolition and some messy materials.  All of the crew worked very hard to minimize the mess and cleaned up afterwards as best that they could.

I will call the Service Guy the next time that I need kitchen or bath remodeling or ceramic tile in any room.

He was easy to contact. He scheduled an estimate at 2 pm the next day and even called and asked if he could come earlier if it was convenient for me. He came out and gave me an approximate estimate depending on what was the problem with the sprayer nozzel. He came out the next day and brought 2 helpers. He had one man do all the grouting while he and the other fixed my nozzel. He had the nozzle figured out in minutes, had to take the garbage disposal out to get to it and cut some pipe. He fixed it (some previous idiot installed it backwards) quickly and was on his way. The grout matched up perfectly with my other grout and they cleaned up well after themselves. I thought the grouting was a little high ( $150.00) but the convenience of having one guy come out and do two different jobs was well worth it.He was done within an hour.

I teetered between an C and a D here because of the fact I now have to refinish my whole bathtubs again. However, the work itself was done well so i opted for a C. The Service Guy was recommended through my bathtub refinisher as an inexpensive plumber to install our new fixtures. He was set to arrive on Tuesday at 4:30 to get everything I needed done. I thought it was a little late in the day to start such a project but I don't know what the work entails. He called to confirm and I realized he had the scope of work wrong and he realized it was a much bigger job. He assured me he would be there the following day at 4:30, again, late in the day. James called to confirm again and tried to move me off another day but I asked if would please come and do at least the bathtub since the tub refinisher took it all apart. He came back a second day with a helper to install the two toilets. After the first toilet was installed, they realized that they didn't have the parts and they started the job so late that the supply houses were closed. I assumed he would be back the following day to do the other toilet but he informed me he was leaving town, Friday, and wouldn't be back until Monday. Monday arrived on time installed the toilets and everything works great. However, I have spent the last 45 minutes scrubbing the newly refinished tubs and bathrooms cleaning up his mess. The tubs have dents, scratches, and chips in the brand new finish where he obviously dropped tools and the dirt and nastiness around the toilets that they didn't bother to sweep up is just gross. A job well done is quality of workmanship and cleaning up after yourself. While the quality of the work was there, the damage done to our new tub and the mess left was inexcusable.

James rocks. I will certainly use him again. He's smart enough to know when to bring in a specialist so there is nothing he and his company couldn't do.

James and his crew completely transformed my bathroom (seriously needed work). We love the outcome. The only 2 things that did not go as planned was the length of time to complete the job (ran a few days over), and afterward we found quite a bit of debris from demo that clogged our bath drain (neither did not bother us, really). Other than that, James was extremely professional and polite, and his quality of work is excellent. I would highly recommend him. His background in plumbing prevented us from hiring both a contractor and a plumber, which would have been tricky to coordinate. Overall, a very positive experience.

It went great. He was very nice and friendly, communicated very efficiently with me (which is very important). He spoke with me first before purchasing any aesthetic items, like the shower head, tile, etc. You can tell he has done this work for a long time, he is quick and gets the job done. I would highly recommend your next remodel be done by James.

The Service Guy did a great job and our bathroom now looks better than new. He was very flexible on timing, working around our schedule. He laid down some plastic from the bathroom to the garage so he would have a clear path to walk on and not dirty our carpet. He also had some neat ideas on design and helped us save a bit in the process. Little stuff like this lets you know that you have chosen the correct company for a job. We are very happy with The Service Guy and will use him again on future jobs.

I've recently served as the General Contractor on our new house and have lots of experience working with contractors (all kinds of contractors!!!) James was, without a doubt, one of the best contractors we've had in the house! Always on time, very professional and a very pleasant young man to have around! On a scale of 1 to 10, I give him a 12!!
