The rehab side was a B or C because of lack of assistance for the patient. The workers are under trained or do not appear to want to help the patients. My mom hated it. The observations by her were that they were not very sanitary did not want to help patients that needed them the most. The food is not good and many times they run out or you do not get what you order. The dining area is utter chaos and does not run smoothly. This side is poorly managed. My mom got good therapy from Ron. She liked him and he helped her. I would not recommend this rehab section of southern hills. She moved into the assisted living side reluctantly but is very happy with it. Shelby the director is fantastic and she gets more care and attention and the employees are much much better. They care about the patients and everyone is friendly and appears to love the people they are taking of. This part of the villages is excellent. The only thing they need to improve on is food quality and variety. The food is better than skilled living side and the dining room is organized and runs smoothly. This side really is an A. Mom is needing lots of personal care and they are meeting her needs and doing a great job.

They physical therapists at the Villages are awesome and work wonders. All but a few of the nurses act like they would rather be somewhere else and were always slow to respond to the call button. The people serving the meals (don't let the brochure fool you about it being "fine dining") also seem to be bothered by having to do their jobs. There were a couple of exceptions, but generally it was poor.
The admit nurse incorrectly entered some of my mother's medications into the system, so she was missing some critical prescriptions for a few days. Also, the description of the drugs being dispensed is entered manually rather than from some database, so it's a 50/50 chance whether or not the description on the medlist is really what it's for.
If you have a loved one that needs physical therapy, I recommend this facility, but be aware that you will need to be on top of things all the time when it comes to the nursing care.

The Villages At Southern Hills Tulsa has three areas assisted living, a rehab center, and skilled nursing. My mother has been there for about 9 months. The experience has been great. My mother has used the rehab area after back and brain surgery and then she moved into the assisted living. Then she had to go back to rehab due to a fall. It is kind of convenient, because she didn't have to move in and out it is all right there. They move your furniture to rehab and then they move you back when you get well. The food is very good. I eat lunch there quite a bit. They have good activities. There is an activity everyday, in fact she went to church this morning. They have someone come in and do the church service. They have games and all types of different things. They have a bus that takes them to Walmart, restaurants, or wherever they want for an outing. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I would give them all As.
