Frank and his wife are lovely. He repaired my Kirby, which I wasn't ready to part with. He replaced the cord, cleaned it up and added a couple things I was missing (hook for the cord and cover for the light). It took about 2 weeks for him to finish it, but it was worth it. It is in better shape now than when we bought it. I would highly recommend Frank's Vacuum.

I dropped the vacuum off at Frank's Repair shop and told him what was wrong. He tested the vacuum and gave me an estimate of what it would cost to repair it which was considerably less than the cost to replace the vacuum. I told them to go ahead and repair the vacuum. They gave me an estimated date the repair would be finished and it was done on that date. Great repair shop and great repairman. I would highly recommend Frank's Vacuum Sales and Repairs to anyone.

I had put some carpet powder on our rugs to freshen them up. Unfortunately, the box did not warn that you shouldn't use carpet powder on a bagless vacuum with hepa-filter. The powder quickly clogged the vacuum, overheating the motor and then the whole thing just shut down. Hours later it came on, but the motor sounded odd and there was no suction.

I called Frank's and they told me that carpet powder is a disaster on bagless vacuums. They warned that the motor in my particular vacuum (like most) is not serviceable and considered a "throw away." They said I could bring it in and they could look at it for $15.

Two days later I took it in and the owners were very friendly and said they call and let me know what they found out.

Later that day they told me the vacuum looked to just need a good cleaning and new hepa-filters.

Three days later ,and ahead of schedule, they called to say the vacuum was ready. They even gave me a written statement that the powder caused the problem so I could send it to the company (which offered to reimburse me for the repair).

The total was right at $85 ($25 filter and about $60 for the service).

This was my first experience taking a vacuum in for repairs (usually just throw them away and get a new one). While I think it is pretty expensive to get a vacuum serviced when you can often buy a new one, with warranty, for less than $200, this was still cheaper than buying a new one and Frank's was great to deal with.

I would definitely recommend Frank's!
