The experience has been fine.

I was completely satisfied with the entire process. It was a difficult job and it was done right. The installers were professional. The work was done on time and at the quoted price. The service after the installation has been good.

While not the least expensive of the 3 estimates I had done, Comfort was the BEST at detailed explination of EVERYTHING they planned on doing including writting down a few repairs they made to the system so it functioned more efficiently. They offered me several options on the total package and broke down the costs of everything with and without the different options. They came out on time, worked well and left no mess behind. The installers were very professional, polite and friendly. I like that I could choose to include a 2 year service plan for the new system.

The messiest part of the install was the drilling of the 2 400' wells in my front yard. This step resulted in a lot of wet clay, some of it the nasty to work with red clay, piled in my yard. They cleaned and leveled the yard but still left an expected (they warned me in advance) layer of clay in about a 700 sq. ft area of the yard that I will have to either reseed or place sod. The inside work went quite well and was completed in one day (we were only without A/C for one day, about 9 hrs). When the system was turned on it cooled the house much faster than I expected. The outside equipment is very quiet, no loud fan or compressor noises. Heat transfer uses pumps to move fluid thru the 1600' + of piping installed in the wells. The 62 degree constant ground temperature is used to cool the air conditioning fluids in the summer and for extracting heat from the ground (heat pump) in the winter. NOTES: 1. If you install geothermal be sure the contractor will remove excess dirt/clay. The drilling contractor may try to spread excess in you yard, changing drainage around you house and depending on the type soil, killing more of your grass then necessary for the install. My contractor wrote into the contract with the drilling sub-contractor that they were to remove excess soil. I would have had a mess on my hands if he hadn't done this. 2. If you have an attic mounted system and If you have flower beds adjacent to your house you may want to consider having the contractor run the A/C condensation drain line into one of them. There is a significant amount of water extracted from the air that your plants will love in our hot summers. 3. In my case, due to allergies, I had the high efficiency Carrier Infinity (electrostatic) air filter system installed. This is an expensive option but is worth it if you have family allergies.

Their estimate was $12,538 for the system. I got the same exact system from another vendor for $8900.00.

Comfort did a great job. I would hire them again. I was very happy with their services. They were nice and caring people.
