It took two service calls to get the TV completely fixed. But Marc only replaced the network card which saved us almost $200 in repair costs.

VThanks to a recent large thunderstorm my parent's house was hit by lightning causing a surge to destroy a lot of equipment. The TV this shop repaired was one of them. It was unable to even turn on.
After finding this provider on AngiesList I looked over the website and found they gave a discount for bringing in the TV rather than having the repair done at home. Since the TV wasn't even able to turn on there wasn't much point in keeping it at home, and we had a vehicle large enough to move it, so I took it into the provider on my parent's behalf.
Mark was at the store when I dropped off the TV and offered to help me bring it in. After placing the TV Mark set about immediately documenting what I had brought in by photographing the model & serial number on the back, and building an invoice. The invoice was what probably impressed me the most. it fully detailed what I'd brought in - not just the TV, but the power cord and the remote, and indicated I'd not brought a stand or wall-mount with it. It was very relieving to see that the provider was detail oriented and not just writing this down on a piece of paper, but rather recording it into their computers.
The cost of having the TV examined was $50 (it's $100 if done in-home) and the examination is applicable to the cost of the repair. After hearing about the power surge Mark suspected that the most likely culprit was a dead power supply inside the TV.
A few days later Mark called me and said that the power supply was indeed dead, but without a power supply he could not determine how much further the damage had gone. Accordingly he wanted to order the power supply and the mainboard so that he could replace both if necessary. After getting the okay from my parents he proceeded to order the parts.
A few days further still the parts had arrived and only the power supply was needed. We were not charged for the mainboard as Mark was able to return that part. The total cost came to $300 and we were able to pick the TV up without any issues.
Absolutely pleased with the professionalism and ease with which this provider supplied their services. While I hope I don't have any further TV repairs in the future if I do I would most certainly return without any hesitation.

I called and they told me they had the part I needed so I went to pick it up and did it myself. They told me how to do it myself so I would save some money. They are professional and very helpful. I would tell friends that they are helpful and they will come to your house if the tv is too heavy.

My TV picture quality changed dramatically a few weeks ago; after going on line and watching Youtube videos, I thought I had isolated the problem as leaky capacitors; after ordering the parts and opening up the TV, I realized that the complexity of the job was beyond me so based on the reviews herein, I called Mark and brought the TV to his shop with the back already off.
While I waited, Mark performed a series of diagnostic tests and told me the problem was not the capacitor I had identified but rather bigger issues that would require the replacement of entire boards that, if I could get them, would be several hundred dollars just for the parts, which was not cost effective compared to the cost of new TVs.
He did not charge me for the diagnostic, and did not try to sell me on a bunch of service work to and quot;give replacement parts a tryand quot;; he provided quality, accurate advice, and I would take my future TV problems to him without hesitation.

Process was easy after they explained how to remove bulb carriage system. They then replaced bulb in their store and I reinstalled the system into TV. TV worked fine after bulb replacement.

The work went okay, except the results were not very good. One of the panel's was going out, and they said that it would cost 1500 Dollars to fix it. He just looked at it and told me what was wrong with it. Their charge was cheaper than another one who had quoted me 75 Dollars. They also told us that if we got it repaired, then their charge would go against the repairs, but we couldn't get it repaired. He was pleasant, and he realized that I probably wasn't going to have it fixed.
Response from In Home Television Repair
"Unfortunately, although [Member name removed] gave a favorable review regarding the service he received , it was not done by our company. I contacted our Angie's List representative regarding this mistaken review, but was told they could not do anything to resolve it and recommended that I contact [Member name removed] and ask him to review his post and determine if he had indeed mistaken us for another service center. However, they could not provide me with his contact information, and we have no way to contact this gentleman as he was not a customer of ours and we do not have contact information for him. Not only is [Member name removed] not in our data base as a past customer. In his review, [Member name removed] stated the rates the service center charged him and these are not our rates. As you can see in past customer reviews of our customers, we do everything possible to provide the customer an estimate (and repair) as cost effectively as possible, and although our rates are comparable they are not the same as those stated. Again, although we appreciate [Member name removed] pleasant review we do try to keep our Angie's List rating at an A. Our hope is that the next time [Member name removed] will give us the opportunity to earn his business, and the only reason we felt it necessary to reply was because it is of the up most importance to us that our customers know that we are dependable and consistent and we did not want ANYONE to feel as if they had been charged differently from any other. Thank You. ."

I contacted this company after our Samsung 55and quot; TV began to have problems. They had me send pictures of the TV's problem to try and give a diagnosis before we took it in. We did take the TV to them to save money. Once the TV was diagnosed, it was going to cost 1500 to repair and they advised us to not replace it. We ended up buying a TV from them. The price was much better than at local big box stores. They delivered it to our home and set it up for us. No extra charge. It was great!! We love the new TV and feel that they are honest and give great customer service. We will use them again and recommend them to others. Thanks guys!!!!!

Initial phone call very informative and accurate in pre-diagnosing the problem. Estimate visit clearly stated what had to be done, what parts had to be ordered and how much it would cost. Work done in the home as scheduled and with careful consideration of surroundings.

Excellent experience, friendly, professional, punctual and explained what was involved and needed to do the repair! Husband and wife team, wife taking call and sets up appointments, husband doing service calls, both very nice!

My Samsung big screen TV would turn on and then about 45 seconds later the picture would go dark and then 30 seconds later I'd lose the audio and the TV would eventually turn off. I though it was the lamp so I ordered a new one and replaced it. It didn't fix the problem. I called In Home TV Repair on a Wednesday and they were able to fit me in the next day (someone had canceled). They called the morning of the service call to make sure that I was still available and the technician arrived right on time. He was very courteous and tried the least expensive fixes first. He replaced the ballast and so far it is still working. While it seems expensive, there were certainly a lot of wires and screws involved and worth getting my TV working again. He did mention that they only work on certain types of TVs so you'll need to check that they work on yours. Typically the big screens, I think.
