Travel Agencies
We contacted the property owner (Gemini International), a booking agent used by VNI (Ewing Enterprises), VNI, and Summit Travel requesting redress. The responses were merely feeble attempts to obfuscate reality, deny responsibility, or no response. Details of our complaint follow.
Our underlying complaint is this. We paid "resort" prices and the property and associated services did not measure up. The "resort" standard is set by properties across the country and those close by Legacy Dunes, such as Hilton and Gaylord resorts.
We arrived at Legacy Dunes Resort on 18 July and departed on 21 July 2013. The issues that support our underlying complaint are listed below.
1. The wiring for the living room TV and cable box was atrocious and presents a safety hazard for children.
2. The master bath sink drains very slow.
3 There was no toilet paper.
4. Faucets in both bathroom sinks leak.
5. There were no wash cloths.
6. There were no dish cloths.
7. There was not enough bath soap.
8. Dining room chairs had torn plastic covers and were dirty.
9. There was hair on the floor in the master bathroom.
10. Bath mats were missing or dirty.
11. Toilet paper holder in 2nd bathroom was about to fall off the wall.
12. Counter extension over master bath toilet is breaking away from wall on left side.
13. There was no clothes-washing soap, yet there was a notice posted to start linens washing upon checkout.
14. The faux drawer front was missing from the master bathroom vanity.
We attempted to call the property owner at around 1100 on Friday, 19 July and got a recording to call back during office hours.
