I emailed to ask some questions and get some recommendations on a new mattress. I was unable to come into the store myself due to a back issue, so I corresponded with Vivid through email. He was helpful (though he seemed a little flaky when it came to answering direct questions) and when it came time to purchase, I sent my husband in to try out the mattress. It was the Ashley Gel Foam and my husband liked it and thought I would as well, so we went ahead and purchased the King size, 14" for $2700. It was delivered, and I was unhappy with it so I promptly called Vivid and explained to him I didn't like it and wanted to exchange it. That is when it all went downhill. At no point was I informed verbally of any policy regarding no returns. Only on the receipt did it state this, very small at the bottom AFTER they had already accepted payment. Had we known it would be such an ordeal, we would not have shopped with Edmond Furniture Gallery. I was told I could exchange the mattress but only if I personally came in to choose the next one (which I understand, but I physically could not) and that the difference would be refunded in store credit. That would have been about $1700!!! That made me a little upset, so I told him that I wanted them to just cancel and void my check and have them come pick up the mattress. They said the would not do that because it had already been processed and that it would be $59 for the drivers to come back and get it and another $59 for them to drive it back to the store. I felt this was little outrageous so I asked to speak to the manager. This dude was so incredibly rude. He actually said to me "That's the price of business, lady!" multiple times and told me I was lucky he wasn't charging me a restocking fee. I was actually shocked at how rude this useless, manager was. He got me so heated I told him I would be more than happy to spend the $120 for them to come back and get their mattress so I could be done with their awful, rude company. At this point, we were concerned about the $2700 check, so rather than risk not getting this back we ended up ordering a new mattress as well as one for my mother. I tried to place my order over the phone and was told the mattress I wanted was $1399 and with tax and delivery was approx. $1525. When my mother actually went to the store, that was not the actual price. The mattress was on sale for $999 and it seemed to me like they were just going to overcharge me because they were angry with me and knew I couldn't come in to the store. That, or people just don't know what the heck they are doing. I am just glad my mother offered to go check things out and try to smooth over the tension. In the end, I know it was a strange transaction, with me being unable to physically come in to the store, but there is a certain level of professionalism a business needs to display, whether they are mad at me or not. At least be nice to my face, explain your policies rationally rather than be rude and yell at me. When we get off the phone, feel free to yell and complain all you want to your co-workers. It was just unbelievable. On top of just being rude, they don't seem to follow any sort of "policies" regarding how to handle problems and delivery fees. I had read online that someone near my area was charged $45. I was charged $59 for the first delivery, but the 2 mattresses we actually ended up with in the end, they charged $81 each ($81 for delivery to my mothers home for her mattress and $81 for delivery to my home for mine). My moms bed was in stock and promptly delivered. They had to order my King size bed, and I was told it would be 7-10 days. At day 12, I called and was told that they won't ship just a single mattress and would have to wait til the truck was full before they would send it. So finally after 4 weeks, I received my mattress. I could not believe it. After my mattress was finally delivered, we were waiting on our refund check of approx. $300. My mom finally had to go in to the store to inquire about it. She said they were very nice to her and said they would send out a refund check in the mail. Rarely does a business surprise me with rudeness, incompetence, and unprofessionalism. I would not recommend this business to ANYONE for ANY reason and will certainly spread the word of their awful business practices and rudeness.

After sleeping on it for a number of nights, I determined it was uncomfortable and I awoke with backaches. I contacted Edmond Furniture and asked that the mattress be exchanged and they refused. They cited the manufacturer had no return policy. I tried to contact the manufacturer unsuccessfully. My husband and I resolved that we had spent $600 on something unsatisfactory with no recourse. I again called several days later and spoke with owner, Patti, who (with attitude) told us to come in and pick out another mattress and to ask for her. When we went into the store, we waited for about 30 minutes before she approached us. All this time we saw her going from one end of the store to the other and we were asked by several different salespeople who we were waiting on and each time I requested that she be told we were waiting for her. We began to feel that she was deliberately making us wait. When she finally approached and we began the process, she again kept us waiting while returning to other salespeople over the store numerous times. In other words she didn't devote her full attention to us. After about an hour or more, we finally ended the process. Her attitude was evident that she was not happy about the exchange even though we spent another $400.00 on a better mattress. We were subsequently satisfied; however, we will not be a repeat customer because of their attitude and unwillingness to work with us.
Description of Work: We bought a mattress and box springs set there at the end of February.
