Our house was built in the mid 1930's, a lot of character, and by character I mean asbestos siding and lead paint. We have an upstairs and downstairs bathroom, one directly above the other. A slow leak developed in a lead pipe where the upstairs shower drain met the main drain line and over time completely saturated the plaster ceiling and walls in the bathroom below.
We made the best out of a situation and chose to completely remodel the entire bathroom, gutting everything. After getting several estimates we chose to go with Colin and Cherokee Plumbing based on his demeanor, professionalism and reasonable price.
Colin had very helpful suggestions on how to approach the conundrum we found ourselves in. Along the way he itemized any additional time working/materials needed, and always got our permission before doing so, never taking it upon himself to make decisions. We never had any problems with communication while working with Cherokee Plumbing.
To stay within our budget, I had him break down replacing the entire plumbing throughout the house into sections, and then decided what we wanted to do. We ultimately decided on replacing the upstairs plumbing (which was still functioning) in addition to the downstairs & left the kitchen for later.
Because we had such an extensive project and opted to do both the upstairs & downstairs plumbing Colin worked with us on the price of several aspects of the project. He also pointed it us in the right direction for selecting a new faucet and bathtub.

Cherokee Plumbing was recommended to me by my awesome heat and air contractor, AireServ,  who discovered a leak in my hot water heater while he was working on  my heater winter heater checkup. I was advised by several folks that "patching" a leak in a 15 year old water heater was not advisable.... It was time to replace it. So I called several plumbers, as well as Cherokee Plumbing.
From the get-go, it was clear Cherokee Plumbing was a notch or two above the others. I filled out online requests for information and/or service and/or estimates at several plumbers. I heard back immediately by email and phone from Cherokee --- and never heard from the others.
So I spoke to Mary at Cherokee and she was frank, informative and very knowledgeable. And even though I called several more times with questions and changes to my schedule, she was always awesome, professional and helpful.
On the day of my appointment, two young gentlemen from Cherokee were on time, clean, polite, helpful and on the job immediately, keeping me informed every step of the way. James and Aaron were complete professionals and gave me a quote that was well-below what I had been told the cost might be. I was surprised to hear that not only did they give me a quote, but they could do the work the same day or another, if I preferred. Once I okayed the work, they left to get the parts needed and returned in a very timely manner. They informed me that they would do some of the work and that the owner of the company, Colin, would come by to complete the work and check their work. Colin did come over to complete the work. He, too, was refreshingly professional and kept me informed throughout the process. He also told me that although James and Aaron were completely capable of installing the hot water heater, he preferred to personally complete and check the biggest jobs so his customers always know they are getting the best, personal customer service they deserve. And finally, I ended up talking to Mary again to pay over the phone for my new hot water heater from Cherokee Plumbing.
A few things if you plan on using this company (which I recommend you do):
1.Get ready to be surprised by the professionalism.
2. They will encourage you to call if there if ANY problem after their work is completed. They will come out and make it right. (This is why I waited almost a week before posting a review. But everything with the hot water heater and its work at my home is great.)
3. Payment is expected at the time of work.
4. You will most-likely want to recommend any plumbing problems to Cherokee Plumbing.
I am so very happy they were referred to me and that I hired them. I will definitely hire them again when I need a plumber!
Thank you to Cherokee Plumbing, especially Colin, Mary, Aaron and James, for your help and professionalism!

I have used various plumbers in the past, but Cherokee Plumbing (Colin Frayser) has so far been the best that I have used.  I called on Thursday and he was able to come out on Friday which was great.  I had to use plyers to shut off the hot water side on the kids shower as it would not shut off just using the shut off valve.  Colin took that side apart and showed me where the washer was totally gone and was a little worried that the stem was damaged.  I explained that I have had this shower worked on twice before this year and all that was ever done was replace the washer and I was still charged around $180.00 by the last plumber I used.  Colin recommended that we replace all the stems with new hardware to prevent this from happening again.  He quote me between 150 and 200 for everything.  I agreed and he left to go to Locke's for the hardware.  He returned about 30 minutes later replaced everything and was done in a total time of less than 2 hours.  I got the final bill of $147.50 and was grateful. He did give me an Angie's List discount as that is how I had found out about him and by reading previous reviews.  I would highly recommend him for your plumbing needs.

I own several rent properties and have done most of my repairs for years, however I  am older now and I am contracting more of the work out. I have been looking for a plumber with integrity who does not believe they deserve the pay of a brain surgeon.  Colin, called and told me it would cost $400.00 to fix the leak and replace the toilet with a new American toilet. (wax seals cost $5.00 and American toilets cost as little as $129.00) I ask if the toilet was cracked, he said "No." I ask, "Do the ceramic toilets wear out? He said "sometimes the throats become rough and don't flush well." I ask , "Is that a problem with this toilet?" He said "No, it appears to operate fine, however I like to replace the old toilets when possible." I laughed and thought to myself  well if you like to replace them bad enough to pay for the new toilet go ahead. I ask "What would you charge just to replace the wax seal? He said $150.00, ( a reasonable price) then he said "however when we get in there we might find...." I then stopped him and said thank you but I will do the job myself. Whenever a contractor starts out with a condition to their bid I become a little uncomfortable.

We are new to Edmond and needed a plumber.  We were about to call Cherokee because they came highly rated on Angie?s List, but my sister-in-law (who lives 20 miles away in Nichols Hills) told us to hold off before calling because she had an awesome guy she really wanted us to use.  She texted us the guy?s name, and it was Colin Frayser?which is the guy who runs Cherokee!  Kinda a twilight zone moment, but we decided calling them was a no brainer.

We needed a gas line installed in the laundry room, as well as some help installing the washer and dryer.  As with most good plumbers, it took some time to get him out, but we soon discovered that Colin is totally worth the wait.  He is incredibly thorough, and takes time to explain what he is doing.  He ran into a few unexpected complications in our wall, and so spent longer than I?m sure he had planned in our attic on a hot summer day.  In the end he not only got the job done, but went above and beyond.  He trained us on how to use our gas water heater, and even recommended an electrician for some work we needed (we?ve since called them, and he didn?t steer us wrong ? they were also awesome).

I could go on and on about how happy we are with Cherokee, Colin and Mary, but I?ll sum it up to say that these are folks you can trust.  We are thrilled to have found them, and like them so much we are getting ready to call them to install a water conditioner for us.  They rock.

We got four estimates, looking for the best quality material possible and up to or beyond code.  Colin at Cherokee talked me through everything in detail and explained how the cost of PEX and fittings varies with quality, how some was only guaranteed for a year (nobody else old me that), code requirements, etc.  Everything he said checked out. Subsequent plumbers all wanted to do less, with poorer quality materials, for more or less money. Easy decision.
Colin poked around the house until he got an idea of what to do, adjusted the original estimate accordingly. We have very old galvanized steel pipes, so every time Colin said, "Hey, come look at this," I was prepared for another kick in the head. In the end they had to replace the line in from the water main. He twisted the main pipe and it tore like a soft breadstick. They had the bulk of work done in two days, with the third mostly waiting for the contractor to finish excavating the driveway.
They found a reliable general contractor for the digging.  A bit more time was spent fiddling and adjusting. Everything is perfect. We need more work done on a bathroom renovation, and will definitely be using Cherokee when the time comes. Outstanding service. Very satisfied.

The installation was done well without any problems even though the plumbing was in the attic.  They brought it up to code by replacing both hot and cold water lines.  Water lines were double insulated to prevent freezing.  At my request they installed a hot water heater insulation blanket that I had previously purchased.  This was a difficult installation job because access to the attic through the garage ceiling was on the south side of the house while the hot water heater was located on the north side of the attic.  Three different ceiling levels in the house (8ft to 10 ft to 12 ft back to 10 ft) made the installation even more difficult.  They did an excellent job in a timely manor.

My call was answered promptly and all my questions were answered.  We were scheduled for a service day quickly & they were on time as scheduled.  The work was done professionally & timely.  The guys were very nice and I was kept informed on how the work was going.  The total price was as quoted.  We have used Cherokee Plumbing before and will use them again.

I called Cherokee Plumbing at 9 am and spoke with receptionist.  I explained to her that I had 2 toilets and 2 faucets to install and had the product onsite ready.  I also mentioned to Mary that I was anxious to get this done and today would be great, if possible.  After 4 hours, she returned my call and said they could be over at 4 pm.  Aaron showed up first and explained to him what I had to install and he got on it.  After 30 minutes, Collin came and helped out and another 30 minutes later, James came to help finish it up.  2-1/2 hours later they were all done.  I can't express how professional these gentlemen were.  They were clean, picked up any lose debris, and hauled off the trash and toilet.  We have just moved to Edmond and they will definitely have some more business from us in the future.

I had this plumber recommended to me by someone I work with. I had already seen their name on Angie's list so new they should be good.  I called that morning and got a prompt call back. I explained it wasn't a complete emergency but wouldn't hurt to get out soon.  They were there that afternoon.  Took a little while because I had no idea where my clean out was.  First he tried snaking from the vents in the roof but that didn't work. We then located the clean out and he had the line cleaned quickly.  I was very surprised with the price.  Expected it to be much more since they really arrived quickly.  I was very happy with their service and will use them again.  The last plumber I had hired charged $500 for an emergency job just to fix a busted pipe in my attic.  Took him less time than this clean out did.  I would recommend Cherokee Plumbing to everyone.
