Josh showed up to do the work an hour late. I confirmed with him the pricing and he said that I was told the wrong information and that $250 was for the first hour with $145 an hour after that, but he usually found the leak in the first hour. I called the office and the manager never called me back so I effectively got screwed from the beginning.
Inevitably, Josh did not find the leak in the first hour. I was trapped into paying more since everyone charges a high first hour rate so I told him to finish the job. He left to get his swimming shorts and came back to finish. After two hours he determined it was the pool light. He told me to shove putty in the fixture and it would stop the leak. Well, needless to say it didn't and now I have a leak AND a charge of $461.75 on my debit card.
We are having a new liner put in and they supposeably guarantee their work at Mullin so I called and spoke to the manager. He told me he would be in touch and I ended up getting a call from Josh. He was rude and combative on the phone using statements like "it is what it is" and "I don't work for free." He made it very clear that he doesn't stand behind his work but that he would charge me $145 an hour to come test it AGAIN.
After hanging up on me and I called the manager again at the office to tell him what happened and I have not received a call back. Please don't get taken by these people. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from Mullin.
"Customer called asking for pricing on leak located and was told $250.00, which is correct. Out Technician informed that “on pools” that price includes the first hour and $145.50 for any additional time. We charge for (2) technicians for pool leaks, it takes two due to one must be above ground to gauge pressure equipment. Customer agreed to pressure equipment and pricing. Our technician tested all the customer’s drain and vacuum lines and they held constant pressure, the Technician tested customer’s pool light and found (2) leaks. Technician explained how he would repair it; customer requested that he do work himself. Mullin Plumbing, Inc. had a total of 2 ½ hours on site and charged accordingly. Customer stated he was told by Pool Company he needed a new liner, so he called and asked if we would check to see if pool light was still leaking after “his” repair. He was then told by our Technician and Service Manager there was no warranty on repair being he repaired it instead of the qualified technician. Mullin Plumbing, Inc. guarantees their work, the only leak the customer had was on the pool light. Mullin Plumbing, Inc. cannot guarantee any repair made by others; in this case, the customer himself performed the repair. In respect to the combative nature of our Technician, we believe this is completely exaggerated and untrue. Damon Crabtree Install Manager"
