I would highly recommend Thermal Windows. The windows look great and we have already noticed how much quieter it is in the house. We look especially forward to a higher level of efficiency in our heating and air bills.
In about ten weeks they called to schedule installation. They came when they said they would, and removed and installed all 16 windows in one day. The installers were very pleasant and efficient. Tarps were used to protect the carpet inside and landscaping outside. They did a great job on the installation, and cleaned up well before they left. We barely noticed the odor of the caulk they used ( they said it might be noticeable for a week) After the installers left, I noticed one of the windows looked dirty. On closer inspection it was obvious there was a flaw with the coating inside the window. Not just a spot, but the whole window. I called and someone came to inspect it and agreed it was flawed, and they ordered a replacement and gave a timeline of 4 weeks. After 4 weeks they came to replace it but brought the wrong size (very small). This installer (Brandon) was also very pleasant, and apologetic. He assured me they would get the right window and take care of it.
The other 15 windows are beautiful. They definitely improved the appearance of our house, from the outside and the inside.
I have confidence they will replace the flawed window. I don't understand how it made it past their quality control people at the factory, or how the installers didn't notice it.
Except for this one window, we are extremely pleased with the windows, the installation, and all the people we have dealt with.
Thermal Windows started the process with a verbal confirmation of what we were wanting. They created a written contract for us to sign and then sent out a person to measure every window. It took 6-8 weeks to make the windows. They told us that it would take this long, so we were prepared for it.
When the windows were ready, they called to schedule a time that was convenient for us.
They ONLY complaint I have is that they did not tell us that we needed to do any preparation inside or outside. When the installer arrived, we had not done any of the things he needed. We were to have moved ALL furniture 3 feet from the windows and not run the AC (one of the windows had tested positive for asbestos).
I was home alone (my husband went to work). There was NO way I was going to be able to move the furniture. The installer helped me get several of the easier windows prepared and he installed those on day 1. My husband and I prepared the rest of the windows that night, so the installer could finish the next day.
The installer was VERY professional and our yard and house were spotless when he finished. He cleaned up EVERYTHING!
"I regret that our customer was not completely pleased with this crew leader. He is a skilled installer, and our customers were generally very happy with the work he did for us. Unfortunately, we did begin to have issues with his professionalism. When he was unable to address our concerns, we ended our relationship with this individual. Everybody has a bad day, from time to time, and sometimes the struggles of life can affect work performance. We value those who work for us, so we try to work with them through difficult times. However, our first concern is with our customers. We do not tolerate repeated issues with our personnel. Customer feedback is appreciated. So, while I regret any time a customer is not absolutely thrilled with their experience, I do appreciate this customer's honesty in regards to her experience. Regarding the referral payment, we had a tracking issue which is, we believe, now resolved. This customer's paperwork has been sent in to our Tulsa office, and we expect her to be receiving her check very soon. John Batts General Manager - OKC"
We have had good performance from the product but the service stinks. You should consider anyone else that will service what they sell.
"It is unfortunate that Mr. [member name removed] was not pleased with his recent experience. I understand that an extensive records search at our home office in Tulsa caused the delay in our response to his inquiry. We were unable to retrieve any record that the door he installed in his home 34 years ago was manufactured by our company. Although Thermal Windows, Inc. may have manufactured his windows (We have no such record), it would not be unusual if the contractor had purchased the windows and the sliding patio door from separate suppliers. It is also possible that our company has been mistakenly identified as the original supplier. This does happen from time to time. It should be noted that no employee in our Oklahoma City location worked for the company in 1980, and the door in question would be well beyond the warranty period, even if we had produced it. When our technician visited Mr. [member name removed]'s home to determine whether or not the sliding door was our product, he found a product he did not recognize and for which the glass unit we manufacture would be incompatible. Our technician recommended calling a glass company because such companies replace glass units in products from many different manufacturers. He believed it would be the easiest solution for the customer. Currently, we are in contact with Mr. [member name removed]. He is attempting to locate his original paperwork, so we can try to determine whether or not Thermal Windows actually built the door in question. We will do whatever we can to help him resolve his problem. It is my hope that those who read the above review will take into consideration the age of the project, the difficulty in trying to service a job for which no records exist and the potential that the door in question wasn't even manufactured by Thermal Windows, Inc.. Our company has earned numerous awards for service excellence over the last years. I can assure readers that Mr. [member name removed]'s experience is not typical. Hopefully, this review will be updated with a happy resolution."
The workers arrived around 10 am and worked throughout the day. We had alot of windows, so it took them a full day and a couple hours the following day to complete the job. Our old windows were original builder windows from the 1980s, and they were difficult to remove. The installers worked cheerfully and never complained about the additional work involved.
Our installers cleaned up every bit of dust and glass, and cleaned the windows as well. Each is well sealed and caulked. We could not be more pleased with our new windows! They are beautiful, and already we are noticing the air conditioner is not working as hard as it used to, and the rooms are cooler.
We would recommend this company to anyone looking for new windows. Their prices are competitive with other companies, and their professionalism and workmanship is first rate.
