Boak & Sons was established in 1974 as a small insulation company by Sam Boak while he was only a senior in high school. With the high energy costs of the 70’s, we expanded early on into the roofing business. We offered economical roof installations through cutting edge technology and equipment, allowing customers to recoup even more in energy savings. Now, we serve both residential and commercial customers to provide quality customer service from Cleveland, Ohio to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and everywhere in between. Our services have also expanded to include sheet metal, siding and gutters along with roofing and insulation. Our company lives by two simple rules: 1. Safety is always first and 2. Never, ever, EVER cut a corner. With over 150 employees serving our customers, these rules help us achieve superior customer service as well as a work environment that gives our employees a safe place to call home. My husband had just been released from the hospital after having his hip replaced. So, since he was going to be home I didn't feel it necessary to take the day off of work and left him home to handle the insulation job. The two young men that did the job were most helpful in moving furniture, and numerous other large, heavy items that were in the way of the walls that were needing holes drilled in them to insert the insulation. My husband was not able to help them at all as he was on crutches. All living space areas of the house had to have the holes drilled on the inside of the house. They moved all necessary furniture, drilled the holes, replaced the furniture and cleaned up any dust or debris from the drilling and insulation process. What I really liked was that all of the holes drilled they kept low on the wall so you really don't even notice them. Most are behind furniture. We've yet to paint over the patches because it's just not noticeable. We'll get to it the next time we paint. We have an attached garage and they moved everything out of the way, even the garage refrigerator, to drill the holes and insulate where needed. Of course, replacing everything and cleaning up any debris.
This job was done over 2 years ago and we did notice a significant reduction on our home heating costs. The job will pay for itself in a few, short years. Very pleased overall and would highly recommend!

We were glad you called Boak & Sons as your roof needed structural changes to it. Fortunately we have a certain crew highly skilled with that type of carpentry work for roofs. Unfortunately in our business we are subject to weather conditions and uncontrollable factors once a roof is torn off. According to our company policy, we will not send roofers out onto a roof that has snow or frost as it causes a safety issue. Additionally, it is our policy not to cut corners on any roof, even if it requires more time and labor from our guys. It should be noted that these uncontrollable factors can affect everyone’s schedule as we make the best effort to finish every job we have started before beginning others. We cannot guarantee the weather or what we find when a roof is torn off, but we will always guarantee that each customer will receive professional and quality work.
