The previous Saturday he came out on an emergency call to deal the old heater's defective plastic drain valve (installed by a plumber a few years earlier), which refused to close. He replaced the valve, the thread of which had, according to Murphy's Law, snapped off during removal, restoring the heater to use. But with it's age, we had him replace the heater, too. He's been our HVAC guy for six years now and will remain so.
