Westerville Automotive is a full service automotive repair facility with 2 locations in Westerville to serve you. We have the right tools and equipment to provide a broad range of repairs, including tune-ups and repairs to engines, brakes, electrical systems, suspensions and heating/air conditioning systems. We have been in business over 30 years. Our Master Technicians have more than 20 years of experience, and our average experience level exceeds 20 years. I came in expecting much worse than it turned out! The front end on my 2013 Toyota Venza was making strange noises when I turned the wheel. It turned out to simply be the audible wear sensor on the brake pad. I was used to a "chirping" noise but this was NOT chirping. Scott McClure at the desk was excellent and the techs who worked on the car were very good at what they do. Will be going back for service on both my vehicles.

What can I say? I have never dealt with a service company that was as patient and persistent as Westerville Automotive. They just keep working at it until they figured it out and fixed it. And they did it with good humor (they never, once, told me I was imagining the noise), professionalism, and at an utterly fair price. It is, in my years of experience, almost unheard of to encounter a group of automotive technicians so dedicated to their work and their customers as those at this firm. I cannot imagine going anywhere else if I am able to have work done here.

All quotes we're provided in a professional format via email as requested. Clearly outlining the expenses for parts and labor. I was disappointed that I was not permitted to buy my own parts, but the detailed quote indicated the shop was going to be using the same part item numbers I was planning to purchase. The truck was able to be dropped off the night before the appointment. An expected completion time was estimated at two days prior to the appointment being scheduled. Work was began as scheduled on the scheduled day, and as expected, extended into day 2. A phone call was received early on day 1 indicating some of the work did not need to be completed. This was a pleasant surprise as two other national brand shops had indicated the ball joints had to be replaced before an alignment could be performed. I agreed to not have the additional work completed if it was not necessary. A phone call with a status update would have been nice at the end of day 1, but was not received. The shop had to be called on day 2 to obtain an estimated time of completion. The lack of communication was inconvenient at most, and will not affect my decision to use this shop again. Upon arriving to pay for the service, I had some personal issues with payment, no fault of the shop, but the shop was extremely accommodating to my unique situation. Scott was extremely patient and went above and beyond my expectations to assist with making sure I was able to complete the transaction the same day instead of waiting 2 days to complete the transaction and drive away with my truck. The final cost was significantly lower than the original quote due to some of the work not being required.

Our 2012 Civic (63,000 miles) was having trouble shifting into reverse and would occasionally have trouble going into other gears. We took the car to the Honda dealer who told us that it would require a new clutch and transmission for an approximate cost of $5600. After finding Westerville Automotive on Angie's List, we decided to get a second opinion. We spoke to Scott at the south location. He was very helpful over the phone and told us to bring in the car right away. We drove it directly from the dealer to his location. Mark called us the next day with a quote for a clutch of about $1600, saying that he didn't think we needed a new transmission, but would advise once they removed the transmission. We gave them the go-ahead to replace the clutch. A little while later, Mark called saying that the technician just didn't feel that the clutch needed to be replaced. "It just didn't seem right." (This is a 5-year old Honda, after all.) After further investigation, the technician found that the clutch actuator needed to be adjusted. No new clutch needed-no new transmission. After adjusting the actuator (price $107), the Civic shifts smoothly and no trouble with the gears. The caveat: the actuator may need to be replaced in the future, but so far, so good. Westerville Automotive saved us a lot of money when we were prepared to pay a lot more! This is our new preferred automotive repair business.

The thing that stood out was they drove my husband home and picked him back up to get the car. We live in Worthington so I was not exactly close. My husband drove over, they brought him home, and then they came and got him, and took him back when the car was done.

Fine. I didn't know ahead of time that they would charge. They just said, when I asked about the quote that they needed to put it up on the rack to see it. Their estimate for repair exceeded the dealer cost by about 10%.

It went well. There are 3 sections of heater lines. 1 section they replaced 3 years earlier but then the other sections went bad too. Since its an old vehicle and I needed to keep cost down they were able to repair using rubber hose instead of steel lines. Repair completed in 1 day (dropped of the previous evening).

Not once, in dozens of visits have the personnel at Westerville Automotive been anything but professional, fair, and efficient. I have never (in 60 years of driving) encountered a finer automotive servicing facility. As an example, my 1999 Jeep Cherokee has had an elusive rattle in the rear for sometime. Westerville Automotive has tried to remedy it, and, on today's visit, pinned it down to a shock absorber on which the valve had failed. Four new shocks had been installed by them about ten months ago. Not only did they replace the bad shock, they replaced its partner...both at no charge. Problem solved...and solved with a good bit of effort on their part to find the problem and solved cheerfully. Nowhere else I have done business would have been as patient and diligent in seeking the origin of this problem. Westerville Automotive is just plain the best there is!

on 10/22/16 I had Westerville automotive replace the engine in my truck, with a jasper remanufactured engine. trying to avoid the cost of a new truck and future truck engine problems , ken from Westerville automotive assured me of the engine quality and its 3 year 100k mile warranty. althought the cost came to over 7k dollars I needed a vehicle so I bought the engine in today ( 11/11/165) for a "free" 500 mile oil change after paying or 7k for a jasper engine install, upon leaving the Westerville automotive location I noticed the check engine light was on and no oil pressure was registering ., thinking there was an oil leak or low oil level I returned to the shop where ken immediately got me in. after inspection I was told it was an oil sending unit that was reused from my old 138k motor and placed inside the engine under my intake manifold and it would be 400 dollars to fix. this was a surprise to me as upon engine installation I paid an additional for a 75 dollar camshaft sensor because ken " felt it needed replaced and it was not good to use the old sensors ", I feel Westerville automotive mechanics are experts at motor r/r and should have replaced the sensors and not reused something obviously at the end of its life. I paid 500. for an install kit that should have included more than radiator hoses, h2o pump and plug/wires. I feel at the very least, Westerville automotive should cover the labor cost if I buy the parts .but no offer was made other than, full repair cost even though the issue just suddenly happened after their recommended "free" oil change. I feel I have been taken advantage of and their ASE certified mechanics and management obviously dont care if faulty parts are used or reused especially in an expensive repair. at this point I'm not sure if it really is the sensor or something more serious that they do not want to take responsibility for.
