Completely unaware they had done the job until we were surprised to see the ceilings weren't leaking during a major rainstorm. Relieve to see the bill arrive a few days later.

We were very pleased with the job that B&T did for us and would definitely recommend them to other people. Their job estimator, Bill Richardson did an excellent job examining our house and letting us know what the work would entail and going over all the different materials, warranties, and prices. He took pictures of the roofs and showed us the various problems that needed to be addressed. Once he gave us their estimate he went over it in detail and worked with us on getting a contract we were satisfied with. Once the work was to start, Todd Nicholson and his crew did a good job keeping us informed as to when they would be starting and when they thought they would be completed. Due to some weather issues the job took longer than was originally stated but the crew worked with us and got it done as soon as was possible. The only concern that we had with the job was that at the beginning not all of our awnings were covered as we had been told they would be and some of the debris from the old shingles got on them. Once we raised this issue with the supervisor it was resolved immediately. Once the job was totally completed the crew did an excellent job in cleaning up the area and leaving it in good condition. When the job was done some of the ventilation devices on the roof were different than were originally described to us so we asked Bill to come back and explain what had been done. He did return, went on the roof and took pictures of the areas we had questioned, and then explained to us what had been done so that we fully understood the completed work. We had found B&T on Angies list and our glad that they did a great job for us.

The salesman, Matt, spent a great deal of time working with us to find samples, materials, and generally plan the roof. We had done a lot of research and it was nice working with someone who had actually roofed (not just sales) and knew all about the different materials and techniques available. The install team arrived promptly, worked well, and their clean-up was outstanding. The main issue we had was that the ridge vent was not the one we agreed on in the contract. We were surprised because there was so much discussion and the salesman even suggested the same one we chose. We figured it out by accident just by seeing the packaging material. Much discussion was held, but in the end it was easier to accept the wrong ridge vent than require them to replace it (which they did say they would do if we insisted). We had an issue where the subcontractor that delivered the shingles cause a deep indentation in our driveway. B&T agreed to pay the driveway repair company directly and collect from the subcontractor themselves. The repair was $300 and its our understanding they paid the bill timely.

From the time Robert came to prepare the estimate until the time the work was actually completed by two other individals, I was impressed with the qualtiy of the work and the professionalism of the workers. As far as we can tell, the problem is fixed. The real proof will come when we get lots of rain and when snow melts and re-freezes. I should note that the workers arrived later than anticipated because they were delayed by the previous job. It is good to know they complete a job before they move on and I believe the delay was weather related.

I am very satisfied. I received two estimates for a new roof and they were within $300 of each other. B&T was willing to work with me on price. Matt called a few times after the initial estimate to check up but did not become annoying. I explained our timeline and he said he could work with it. The crew showed up at 8 AM on a Wednesday and had most of the house completed by the time they left at 7 PM. If they hadn't had to replace several sheet of plywood around the skylights I believe they could have finished in a day. They called and explained that the wood had rotted around on of the skylights in my addition and recommended replacement. They explained the price before doing the work. They also connected the second story bathroom fans to outside vents, something that was not present before they came. They cleaned up the site well after job completion. I would highly recommend B&T and have done such to 3 people since the job.

He didn't feel that it was as much a roofing problem as a stucco problem, and he doesn't do that type of work., so we didn't get an estimate. He was very friendly and responsive.

Excellent Response & Service & $ Cost.

They were very nice. They came out to see what the problem was. They had given us a certain appointment time and showed up right on time. They did good work and didn’t seem to mind that it wasn’t a huge job. We were pleased with the quality of the repairs and would use them again.

At first I was very impressed with representative Bill Richardson. Bill was professional, thorough, and even took very good pictures of my roof for me to see all the damage. I had considered having Bill look at my Commercial Building because I suspected I might have hail damage there as well. Tracy Muth said Bill was ‘pretty new’ so she was going to have the owner, Todd Muth, come look at my Commercial Building. I decided to hold off on the Commercial claim so I continued to deal with Bill and Bill came out and took pictures of my Commercial roof. My husband and I were scheduled to go to Maine in July for my husband to have some surgery. Bill gave me a quote of $7,730 for my home roof. My insurance was paying $6,065 for a net difference of $1,665 with my out-of-pocket being $2,665 with my $1,000 deductible! (Keep in mind I got a new roof in 2003 due to a hailstorm and my roofer took exactly what the insurance paid and there were no problems.) I asked Bill why there was such a big difference in dollars and he said that my insurance company was taking out their profit. I don’t think so! Anyway, I gave the insurance papers to Bill July 1. Bill was to prepare a detailed estimate in “Exactomate” format and send it to my insurance company to see if there were any discrepancies and if they would pay any more on my claim. Since B&T has been in the roofing business for many years this did not seem like an unusual practice. Upon arriving home from Maine July 20 I contacted Tracy Muth at B&T for a status. August 4 Tracy told me that Todd and Bill were ‘working on the numbers’ and, due to other commitments of the owner, Todd, I would not hear anything until at least August 12. August 18 Bill called to tell me he was just then sending numbers to my insurance company---6 weeks after I gave him all the papers. Also I noticed Bill had forgotten all the important numbers (claim number and policy number) on the fax he sent to my insurance company which he had to redo. It was at this time that I got different stories from Bill and owner, Todd Muth. Todd told me that there had been a miscommunication and Todd thought Bill was working on the numbers and Bill thought Todd was working on the numbers. Bill said it was totally his fault and he had ‘dropped the ball’ on my paperwork and he had been very busy. He apologized profusely and was highly ethical. He was accepting all of the blame when I don’t think it was all his to take. Also Todd said that they do not own “Exactomate” software but had to lease it and he needed to get a new or updated version of “Exactomate.” This seemed very strange to me---aren’t they in the roofing business and don’t all insurance companies require detailed estimates in that form. Other roofers I have spoken with said they do not use that specific software but do prepare quotes in that format. Why did I have all these hassles with B& T? I accepted Bill’s sincere apology and asked what my insurance had told him. He said he was waiting to hear back from them. I called my insurance company and got a little different story. Basically I had been ‘put in a queue’ and would not get assigned to a LIVE person to review all of this for 3 weeks—September 9. Bill did not know that. Giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, August 26 I asked B&T if they would come look at my Commercial property to ‘redeem’ themselves from all the snafus. (I had since learned I really needed to replace the roof on my 4,000 sq. ft. Commercial Building due to hailstorm damage as well.) To date—September 8, 2011—I have had no Response from them. I just feel like I was NOT IMPORTANT to them perhaps because they had to deal with my insurance company or my roof was too small? I was looking at having BOTH my HOME and COMMERCIAL BUILDING done and I know there was profit for the roofer in what my insurance paid. Perhaps they are so busy they don’t need the work. I don’t know. What I do know is I have talked to 5 other roofers and B&T Roofing was the HIGHEST quote. I did hear back from my insurance and got an additional $676 but that still puts B&T Roofing at $1,000 over my insurance payment and leaving me with $2,000 out-of-pocket with my deducttible. I have been a member of Angie’s List for 15 years and submitted over 190 reports. QUALITY is my #1 Consideration when hiring someone not price! I did find a roofer that will be doing my HOME and COMMERCIAL Building for almost out-of-pocket expense to me and is rated quite high. I am sure he is making a profit on my jobs just probably not as much as B&T wanted to make.

It went fine, and they were great. They found a solution to the leaking problem. They were very professional.

Bill the salesman was very thorough, and worked with the insurance company to work out estimate vs. appraisal. The crew led by Valentino were prompt, hard working, courteous, professional.

We had hail damage from a massive storm in Grove City. B & T did a great job! We had a few issues along the way but all were resolved promptly.

Very smooth transaction -- scheduler called back promptly, repair team came within 48 hours and completed inspection and repair within 60 minutes. We were very happy with the service and will use again.

B&T is the only company that actually prepared an estimate for the work I requested an estimate for - i.e. the rotted out soffit and fascia. Other companies wanted to sell me an entirely new roof and added on the repairs as an afterthought. B&T gave me an estimate for the repairs, then had their crew out there within a couple of days of me accepting their estimate. Robert, the gentleman I worked with, was responsive to all my questions and explained everything in easily understandable terms. The gentlemen they had out to do the actual work were capable, competent, and swift. The house looks better than it did when we bought it, actually! We will be using B&T for all of our roofing needs going forward.

B&T did a great job. They did the work when they say they would and the quality of the workmanship was very high. I interacted with the crew on numerous occasions as they did the work and they were respectful, helpful, and professional. The crew was clearly high skilled and worked hard to get the work done quickly. They let me know about some shoddy framing that they discovered -- and were able to fix it quickly and at a good price. They did the job right. My one and only complaint was that despite their promise to remove nails on the ground with a magnetic roller, I did find large numbers of nails (I'd estimate that I found 100+ nails, mostly under bushes, but many on the lawn, on pathways, in my driveway and other areas). I asked them to come back and do another pass with the magnet, which they did. But even after the second pass, I continue to find nails. I have a three-year-old daughter -- so you can understand my concern about her getting a old rusty roofing nail through her foot while playing in the yard. I know the number of nails involved in roofing probably means it is impossible to get every single nail off the ground -- but I felt like they could have been more careful to cover certain areas with tarps, or just be more thorough with the clean-up. All in all, that is a minor complaint though. The work they did was high quality -- they did it for a good price and they did it in a timely manner. The roof looks great and everything was done exactly as I asked. I'm very pleased with the roof and I would strongly recommend B&T to others. They were extremely responsive to all of my questions and concerns and were very good about going through each step of the process with me.

They had more similar estimate on what I was looking for. They were the first one’s to respond. They didn’t charge me for the estimate. They responded very promptly. It’s always a good sign when they give you an estimate on what you were thinking was supposed to be. I would use them in the future.

Please read the following report... this is rare customer service these days! Robert with B&T Roofing came out this morning to look at the slate roof I have on the carriage house in my back yard. I have some minor slate repair and, after looking things over, he said this was not something that B&T typically completes. However, while we were looking at the carriage house we noticed that the composition roof on the main house had a small lift in a shingle near the peak. It could have been from the recent wind and rain storm. We also noticed that a spike had come loose on one of the gutters and the gutter was slouching, away from the angled flow over to the down spout. Robert got out his ladder and went up to take a look. He said this was a quick fix with a hammer and a little tar to be sure the shingle re-adhered. He came down, got his materials, and went back up to fix both the shingle lift and the gutter. When I suggested that I should give him some compensation for his efforts, he simply replied that if we have anything other roof work needed on the main house, that B&T would be happy to give us an estimate. Thanks, Robert! If I have other roofing needs, I will call B&T!

It was during the storm and the actual cost was about $8000, but the insurance company picked up on $1000 of it. At that time they seemed to be the most knowledgeable and knew more about roofs. They were also the least high pressure compared to anybody and basically very facts oriented. They told us what we needed to look for if we did not go with them and also told us to be sure to look for certain types of things.

I worked with Matt initially on the estimate and he followed through at completion. We had to re-schedule the start date three tims due to the rain. They worked quickly and cleaned up VERY well. No problems.

I noticed water coming in upstairs around the chimney during this spring's heavy rains. Another company diagnosed the problem as a chimney problem rather than roofing. I called several chimney repair/roofing companies for estimates; B&T had both the lowest price and the most thorough bid, proposing not only to fix the leaking chimney masonry but also to repair around the other chimney and stack to prevent future leaks. The estimator, Robert, took pictures of the structures up on my roof to show me the work he was proposing, which I really appreciated, since it's hard to tell on the ground exactly what's going on up there, and he submitted a bid $200 less than the next lowest company -- including these more-comprehensive repairs. B&T was responsive to phone calls and prompt in performing the service. We haven't had enough rain since then to tell whether the repairs will be effective long-term, but the work looks great from the ground, and I haven't seen any additional leakage on the inside. They were a pleasure to work with, and I would definitely recommend them.

The entire job process went smoothly despite the weather. I had three estimates and I choose BT Roofing because they had roofed our neighbors home the year before and they were very happy with the work and BT presented us with the best proposal for the money.

We only paid for some roof upgrades and the insulation because we had significant wind damage, our insurance company paid for the rest. Matt was awesome! He met me at his office to discuss the estimate because that was more convenient for me. He also came out when the insurance adjuster was here and made that whole process a lot easier for us. The only thing Matt wouldn't do was pick the shingle color!! :) When the crew came out they completed the whole job in one day and spent over 90 minutes cleaning up the yard at the end. They were great! One last note, our estimate on the insulation ended up being a lot more because evidently our attic is smaller than Matt thought. We would have had no idea how much insulation they used, so we really apprectiated his honesty.
