Description of Work: Called Mark to see about our 7y/o Samsung 55 in TV. Told him the problem with the TV. He told me what he thought the problem was,and he would call me back in 10 minutes with quote to fix it. Cost was about $225. Not sure if its worth that to fix a 7y/0 TV. But if we decide to fix it,will definitely call him. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP MARK.

 + -1 moreComponent Level Repair (CLR) was the 2nd company I called from your list regarding TV repair, primarily because of its proximity to my home. I explained the problem to the CLR repairman who suggested I bring the TV to him. However, he suggested I first disconnect the cable box and connect the cable directly to the TV. I could then confirm the problem was in the TV and not the cable box. He hit the nail on the head. The TV worked fine; the problem was in the cable box. I exchanged the box at the cable company for which there was not cost. I was very appreciative of CLR's expertise and professionalism. Their priority was correcting my TV problem rather than sending me a bill.
Description of Work: I called Component Level Repair regarding a problem with my TV. The repairman understood and advised me to bring the TV in. However, he suggested I try a "test" which would determine if the problem was n my TV or elsewhere. His suggestion saved me the time and cost of taking the TV in to their shop to determine what I was able to do to at home.

 + -1 moreMark Mason, company now known as Mason TV Service, was the only one willing to come out and check our antenna after we installed a digital converter box that wasn't working. Everyone told us it must be antenna problem but that our antenna was too high and they wouldn't climb up to fix it. Mark tested the TV and converter box and realized that the box was defective. He installed another box which worked perfectly. I returned the original box to Radio Shack which is supposed to replace it when they get new ones in. Mark returned to check the original one. He was professional and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Mark Mason checked the antenna and digital converter and discovered that the converter we bought was defective. He sold us one, installed it and explained what went wrong. He was professional and very capable. He is an expert in understanding what those of us who do not have cable or satellite need and what the problems might be.

 + -1 moreI was very pleased with his knowledge and workmanship. I was afraid it would be difficult since the set is so old, but he had no problem with it. It was cheap compared to a new TV.
Description of Work: Vertical refresh was going on our 36" 14 y.o. TV. Mark came out and fixed it very quickly. Didn't have to replace many parts, but knew exactly what the problem was. He gave me an estimate after diagnosing it. After I said to go ahead, it took little time before he was done.

 + -1 moreWe had our TV repaired by another company who had put in a faulty circuit board. We had them come out to fix it and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. This was when we called Component Level Repair. Mark Mason did a great job repairing the TV and worked around some things so we didn't have to purchase another new circuit board.

 + -1 moreHe came on time, called right before he arrived. Very neat in appearance, and respected my home, as not to soil anything. Very informative and polite.
Description of Work: Our Big Screen TV (Toshiba 48 inch screen) had the red and green colors out of focus. Talking to other TV repair people over the phone, they were trying to convince me to junk this 10 year old set and buy new. The repair would be more than the set is worth. Mark Mason came and only charged $40 for a service call and then deducted that from my total charge. He replaced 3 color boards, soldered the new components onto the electronic board in my home, took the front screen off and cleaned the interior mirror plus light cannons, refocused the TV and made sure the remote worked before he left. He also answered some of my questions about HD TV, LCD and Plasma TV. I have a 30 day warranty on his work and a 1 year on the parts replaced from the manufacturer.
