Ron Fite did an great job with suggesting a style of carpet for our basement. The installation was excellent - the previous basement carpet showed the seams and they were unraveling. With the new carpet, I can't see the seams, even though I know exactly where they are. Excellent job! I would highly recommend.

J P Flooring has done an excellent job for us in the past and this time.  Their installers are on time, polite, and have excellent customer service skills.  J P Flooring installed carpet and pad throughout our entire home in 2010 and we just had them do the lower level.  They called the day before to let me know the time.  The workers showed up on time and ready to work.  Everything is perfect.  I would recommend this company to anyone needing carpet selection and installation.  All both ends it was a great experience.

I would have no trouble recommending JP Flooring to my friends and neighbors.  In fact neighbors stop by when they saw the trucks at my house and asked to see the work.  They were amazed with the wood floor blend and finish.

My contractor suggested JP Flooring in West Chester, and told me that I could use his contractor's discount. I found what I wanted at their impressive showroom and was assisted in selecting the right materials for our large finished basement. The prices were a bit higher than those at another highly rated retailer, but I mentioned my contractor's name and asked if I could use his discount...The salesperson said that I could, she'd just have to find out who handled that account. When I started receiving invoices for the three different flooring materials I had chosen, they contained very few details; I had trouble discerning which invoice pertained to which product, and how the costs of material, labor, etc. were calculated. When the salesperson called to get a deposit for the flooring, I asked again if I would get the contractor's discount, and she told me that she would check on it (again).
Installers visited our home three times over the course of two months, as the delivery and installation of materials had to be coordinated with other aspects of our remodel. The scheduling team did a fine job getting appointments on the calendar and communicating with me. A problem arose when the hardwood flooring was being installed around the bar area and the installers informed me that they didn't have enough material, and that the carpet would encroach upon the space required for bar seating. Unfortunately, the representative who had come to measure our basement had not provided any guidance regarding the bar area, so I had estimated where the wood should end and the carpet should start. (I subsequently talked to the salesperson about this, and she had told me that the space required around a bar is a standard measurement, and the gentleman who did the measuring should have advised me accordingly.) I told the installers that I wasn't about to pay for them to come out again and install more hardwood (this portion of the project was already costing over $2000). The lead installer assured me that if it could be left as-is, then completed when they returned to install the laminate flooring (in a separate area of the basement), then it shouldn't cost anything because they would be there already. I touched base with my salesperson to confirm the plan.
As the rest of our new flooring was installed and the remodel progressed, I received credit card receipts and invoices at random intervals in the mail from JP Flooring. I understand that they charge a deposit when materials are ordered, then process the remaining balance once a job is complete. However, I now have ten separate and different invoices from JP Flooring, and seven separate charges on my credit card. Their convolluted invoicing and processing methods have made the flooring the most confusing part of our remodel project (and it was a rather complicated project). I was charged more than the original invoice for the hardwood, because another box of hardwood flooring had to be ordered to complete the job...But that was not evident on the paperwork I received after my credit card had already been charged $214 more than the amount I had authorized. So, I never did get the contractor's discount and I was charged more than I had agreed to pay, without my knowledge or consent. I contacted the billing office at JP Flooring to address this issue and I was referred to my salesperson. She said she would look into it and call me back...

JP Flooring did a great job and we are 100% satisfied with how the floors turned out. We spent the extra money to use the dust containment system and felt this was money well spent. There was little dust or residue from the work. The floors turned out beautifully and we are very pleased with the modern look they have given our older home.

First of all, I called 2 weeks prior to Christmas because our cat had ruined the carpeting in our dining room. We decided to replace with hardwood, but weren't sure of the expense and if it could be done before Christmas. The saleswoman on the phone went out of her way to try to find out if the company could make this happen for me. She asked about where my home was located, how old, and who built it. With that info, she had a fair idea of the type of wood that was used and said it was something they carried in stock. She had someone come out to measure and look over the job before the end of the day. They explained that they would have to strip the old floors so that they could stain the entire area to match. There were a few issues when the job was completed, but they came out to fix these immediately. The floors were completed by Christmas, and looked beautiful!

It is like a tale of two cities. I worked with Ro, who is a kind salesperson. We selected carpeting, wonderful gentleman came out and measured, carpet installers came and did a very professional job, moving all the furniture, removing carpet, and installing carpet, even working around my husbands business calls as not to disturb him while they were working.
Carpet in bedrooms, stairs, hallways etc is great. Lived up to my expectations. Furniture replaced with great care.
One week after carpet was installed in family room and home office noticed snags in berber from our dog. Our home is only two people and a 17 pound dog. Carpet that was replaced was a 19 year old berber that survived 3 various dogs, 3 active children and ourselves, never had a problem with it.  I contacted Ro about this problem as carpet is a new Shaw carpet, and asked is there a problem on Shaws end with this carpet. She forwarded my email to service. After a week of no response, I contacted Ro again, she contacted service again! A few days later service called, Inquired about my vacuum beater bar being the problem, I said no it is my dog. Who gets groomed every month, including having nails trimmed and filed as she is a therapy dog  and I make sure her nails are not sharp when she visits patients in the hospital on a weekly basis. Service man came out, repaired carpet and advise I put dog toys in garage.  At this point, my husband who overheard conversation, explained dog was here before carpet, we never had problem with any carpet before with our dogs, and that we are not happy customers. Serviceman said he sees no problem with carpet, took sample with him and said he would let JP flooring know we are not happy customers. A week later no response. I am worried with holidays approaching and my children returning home with their dogs, this carpet will not withstand three dogs running around on the carpet. It is a new carpet that can not withstand dogs walking on it, so is there a remedy? I do not know, if I knew it could withstand dogs, iI would be happy with the carpet, it looks great, just not functional.

11/26/2011 Despite what the serviceman said, Shaw has decided to replace the carpet. JP Flooring contacted me. I asked to wait till after Christmas holidays as I have many house guests coming, etc.. Ro, the kind soul that she is, is sending more carpet samples to me so I can pick out a durable carpet for my family room.

Very well!  Excellent job!  Three workers, Steve, Mike & Larry arrived on time at 10:45 pm and worked steadily thru until 3:45 pm.  (I ordered pizza for them to munch on & tipped them $45.)  The carpet man tacked down the loose carpet between the kitchen and dining room and installed a new gold strip.  Everyone was very pleasant, including the salesperson, the interior decorator, the installation manager, the receptionists, the workers & the carpet man.  They all did many things above and beyond the call of duty, such as installing a protective strip inside a closet that was not even on the order & installing quarter-rounds that were far better quality than the old quarter-rounds.  It was a quality job.  Wonderful customer service!

Showroom is complete with plenty of styles to choose from, sales person was very helpful. Picked the carpet type, took home a few color swaths (highly recommend this step) and made the final choice.  A person came out for exact measurements (30 minutes), they developed the cut pattern and then ordered the carpet. In took a special order to get both rolls came from the same manufacturing "lot" to ensure color uniformity.  About 6 weeks for delivery.

Install was done in about 2 days (using 2 people).  Be prepared to move everything (ugh!) to make a clear area for installation.

It's been over a year now and we are very, very pleased with the carpet.  Even the cat can't stain this stuff.  :)

They did an excellent job, the carpet looks great and the stringers on the stairs look awesome.  They were punctual, friendly, and even provided us with some advice about the other carpet in our house that we may need to think about someday.

The selecting, measuring & quoting process was fine, they have a very large selection of flooring options to choose from at their showroom in Mason, and they sent someone to our home in Hyde Park prior to providing the estimate.  Installation was scheduled about 1 week after we had accepted the bid.  The guys that did the installation were neat & did a good job with installing the floor and one of the doorway transition pieces.  The second doorway transition they did not install that day because they needed to get a different piece to fit that space... someone came back a week after that & installed that, but we were not satisfied with that - it was loose and the transition height difference to the tile floor was not addressed.  We are still waiting for this part to be corrected (the guy that had installed it has been back to our house to look at what is wrong, he is supposed to be coming back to fix it once & for all, but that is still not scheduled.)  Additionally, we had two electrical outlets in the floor that after they put down a layer of plywood & the new floor, caused the plugs to be so much higher than the service box that they were outside of the box & surrounded by only the wood floor.  I understand that the guys installing floors are not electricians, and I took care of adding an electrical box extension & longer screws so that the plugs would not move - you can debate whether or not this is the responsiblity of the new floor installation crew...  Assuming that they get the transition piece installed correctly we will be happy - but it did take a very long time and a lot of extra follow up chasing!

I walked into JP Flooring - their power was out but they were still able to help me quickly because the sales person knows their inventory - so I didn't have to bumble in the dark or come back another time. I went home with a sample - it was just right, asked for a measuring - he came right away, got the estimate by email (which we asked for), paid, done.   Easy. We are very happy with the carpet and service from JP sales and installers.

From the moment I entered JP's Carpet I had assistance. I brought info on carpets from my Internet research and a paint board with wall colors. My saleswoman, Ro, was so supportive in finding the type of carpet I needed to fit the kind of foot traffic(less costly per square foot) of the rooms, as well as narrowing down the huge inventory of colors to those that fit my paint sample. It made my decision making less overwhelming. I felt she was working personally for me, not just the carpet store. The carpet installers were very professional and hard working. I do wish they had done a better job on fixing the floorboard squeaks. I had reminded them we needed the floorboards tightened, even had post-it-notes on the old carpet areas with problems, but after they were done there were still major squeaks that I feel should have been attended to. Wish they also had more sales too. This is my only dissatisfaction with the whole transaction. I will continue to think of JPs in West Chester first when I want flooring.
Response from J P Flooring Design Center

"First of all, "Thank you" for your nice comments. They are much appreciated. It sounds like you have some major issues with floor squeaks. Unfortunately, the carpet installer is not the person to fix floor squeaks. The installer can nail down loose underlayment. However, this is a minor source of most floor squeaks especially major ones. I definitely agree with your comment regarding more sales. JP Flooring will be doing more promotions and sales. As of this response (1/16/12) We are offering one room of StainMaster Carpet for $379 and a Kitchen backsplash for $699. In addition, we will be offering our spring and fall promos for Shaw and Karastan carpets. We expect 2012 to be a very exciting year for us at JP Flooring. Please check out our web site jpflooring.com to see what is happening. Again, thank you for your comments and we sincerely appreciate your business. Very knowledgeable salesman, scheduling was easy and carpet was installed on time and in less time than quoted. They did a good job. Using scrap material, JP agreed to perform some binding free of charge (better than competitor). However, the follow-up on the binding was not originally good. However, when I brought it to managements attention it was addressed quickly.

We are very happy with their punctuality and professionalism. We also bought our tile for the kitchen there. They have beautiful tile. The saleswoman was very helpful and she made a design for the backsplash, which we ended up using as our design. The service that they give you is wonderful. They give you advice. It is a high quality service. Even if you have to pay a little more, it is worth the peace of mind and the service and quality that you get.
