I wasn't thrilled with the Hospice services offered through Grande Village. It seemed that I was leading them through the many processes at the end of my mother's life instead of them leading me through the processes and decisions. After completing orders for regular drinks and food, there were many instances when I would arrive to find that the staff still was giving my mother nectar thick liquids and foods she didn't like to eat. I had to check in with the Hospice director several times to alleviate these little occurrences. The social worker, front desk staff and nurses were also approachable and helpful. I had limited access to the service providers of speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy.
Description of Work: Grande Village Nursing Home provided daily care for my mother from August 2015 until her death in January of 2016. In October of 2015 my mother was placed in the memory care unit of Grande Village for safety reasons. Although I was hesitant to move her into this unit, I was very happy with the nurse's aides. They are the ones that have the most daily interaction with the patients and Tonya was so excellent with my mother. There were several other special ladies that took wonderful care of my mother, but at this point I can't remember all of their names. They were respectful and loving to my mother.

Description of Work: My mother spent time in the Grande Village rehabilitation center from early September to mid October. Room was clean, staff was helpful and accommodating. However, in October she was moved to the Memory Unit within Grande Village. My mom received excellent care within the memory unit and we had some tremendous nurse's aide such as Tonya that treated my mother with love and respect. They worked with me to help ensure that my mom received special treats and snacks that she would enjoy. They were very active in keeping her busy, alert and interactive. She was always clean and dressed each day when I would visit. All staff were open and receptive to my many questions.

Description of Work: This was in the Assisted living facility, which is where my wife lived for 9 months. Large staff turn-over. Understaffed. Poor food.

Each of the 4 or 5 therapists that worked with me were friendly, patient, always making sure of my safety in the exercises for balance and careful I didn't overdo it. I could also see their interaction with other patients and it was always the same competency and attention. When I was discharged from rehab after 3 weeks, appointments were scheduled to fit in with my schedule.I was very pleased with the results.
Description of Work: I had brain surgery and needed OT and PT to restore strength and balance. I had many sessions of both with several different people between April 5 and June 6, 2014. All were very good, competent, wanted to know my goals and constantly evaluated them. I had both inpatient and outpatient sessions.

Fair. Some of the staff was very friendly, while others were adequate. We had to ask for linens to be changed. He never had a shower in 4 days.
Description of Work: My husband was there for rehab. Room conditions were not the best. We took him out after a few days because the care was lacking.

They are a pretty good sized facility. The independent living set up is wonderful. The units are spacious and clean and relatively new. They are well maintained and there is parking in the basement. It's in a central area for shopping. The units have lots of light with high ceilings and windows and a balcony. My sister was delighted with it.
Description of Work: My sister was in Grande Village for independent living and then moved into assisted living.
