JB Window & Gutter Cleaning

Called once to schedule appointment. Then did not show up. Did not respond back to phone calls. Angie's list said they will refund money that was paid upfront through website. Did not get that either.

The quality of the work was good, but we had a difficult time scheduling. They ended up coming to my home unannounced, which I was very unhappy with. As a result, only the exterior was done, despite me expressing clearly that I only purchased the deal because I wanted the interior done as well.

Our house looked much better.  Something we forgot to consider was the proximity of our landscaping to the house.  In places the flowers/bushes took a beating but recovered nicely within a week or so.  Just something to keep in mind?.

Overall a poor experience with JB Window & Gutter Cleaning to the point that the service was not provided. Communications with this service provider was unprofessional and focused more on the provider concerns as opposed to customer satisfaction. The following is a statement of events as they occurred.
I received a call to my cell shortly after purchasing the deal from JB explaining that they were out to my house and would not be cleaning the windows at that time due to construction in progress at my residence. I of course new this already as we were having major renovations to the exterior landscape and were not wanting the service performed until after the updates were completed. We were a little puzzled as to why JB would show up unannounced to perform service prior to first contact or managing any scheduling. However, we didn't think too much of it at the time and chalked it up as a minor error at best.
Several months later after the construction was completed my wife contacted JB and spoke with the owner to schedule service. JB then proceeded to complain about how there has been a lot of confusion from the Big Deal customers around how the explanation of the voucher is not what he originally intended to deliver for the price paid to Angie's List. However, he agreed to go ahead and honor the deal at that time and any additional external window over the 30 included in the deal would be an additional $4 per pane and then scheduled service for Mon 11/11.
On the day of the scheduled service Mon 11/11 my wife called and spoke to Joe at 1pm as he had not yet arrived to clean the windows. Joe answered surprised that another individual had not yet arrived to perform the cleaning. He then indicated that if the other resource was not there at that point that he wouldn't be able to get to it that day and would have it completed by Fri 11/14 of that same week.
On Fri 11/14 Joe called my wife and once again went into a long complaint about how an Angie's List employee was purposefully messing up the deals on Angie?s List and he was doing the job for way less than its worth. He then indicated that he had counted a total of 59 windows and quoted her a cost of $140 over the Big Deal to cover the 29 windows above the 30 covered with the Deal. She then contacted me to call Joe about the additional cost.
I called Joe and he then began to complain about the issues with previous customers getting confused about the service and how Angie's List had fired the resource that had put together his deal and eluded to criminal activity in the way the Big Deal was put together. He also commented that the percentages of the $99 that was retained by Angie's List and the amount he received for the service to be provided was unfair. He also mentioned that he could write me a check for the $99 I had spent on the Big Deal if I no longer wanted the service. 
I then communicated that I hear what he is saying, but would hope that he would put himself in the shoes of the customer for now and understand that we only want the service that was promised through the Big Deal and would agree to the $4 for each extra window he had previously quoted. With 29 extra windows this would be $116 by my calculations. He replied to my comments with one word "Okay" and then hung up on me. I waited about a minute and attempted to call him back to try and understand what exactly his intentions were?which the call then rang to voice-mail. When we arrived home later that day we found that the windows were not cleaned and there was no written communication to be found. 
Given the above series of events, the fact that we did not receive the service nor did we receive the $99 refund check that JB had mentioned. We unfortunately have no option but to score this provider low as JB left us with nothing positive to comment on. We actually had to pursue a refund through Angies list which was very frustrating as they only offer a 30 day refund for this Big Deal even though it was still within the 6 month validity period. Pursuing the refund took more of our time and added to the overall negative experience.

Probably would not use in the future. Basically, they just used leaf blower to blow leaves out...I can do that myself.

I got the information from Angie's List and ordered the service.  I then got a message from the company stating that they do not take new clients, however, the $120 was charged to my Visa.

Joe was extremely nice when I first talked to him, he did explain that we wasn't going to be able to provide a quote in the time frame I gave him because he had prior engagements, but he did assure me that he will get a quote out to me once I send him the invoices from another company we used and I did. He did confirm he received the invoices from a prior company we used and contacted me saying he was going to get right on it. I was out of town the week of August 15th and didn't hear anything from Joe that week or the prior week. So I called him twice and left a message once and I got no response. Then I texted him on August 20th and he replied back right away. I advised him since I haven't heard from him in several weeks I am under the impression that he no longer want our business and we were going with another company and I thanked him for his time. He then replies back and says, " Well it hasn't been weeks and I did 11 accounts $ worth three way from my office. I never knew that he did any of the offices until I tried reaching out to him letting him know we were going with another company then he replies back that he did 11 offices (very unprofessional). Joe never informed me that he did 11 offices not until I texted him.Long story short I told him to invoice for the offices he completed and we will be going with another vendor that is more flexible and will be able to preform the tasks we requested.

Provider called to let me know he would be late, and when I should expect his arrival. When he arrived he asked what windows I wanted washed. Provider informed me that I should have taken storm windows out before his arrival. While he set up, I took out all the storm windows I could. The storm windows that were difficult for me to take out, the provider took out for me and cleaned the windows as promised. Provider was professional, courteous and worked very fast. (From start to finish it took about two hours). He did an excellent job washing my windows, and I recommend his service to others.

Joseph is very professional. He does thorough work and has pride in his workmanship. We have also had him clean outside windows in our large two story home and clean roof and gutters.
