In dealing with Everdry they have a very smooth sales team and pretend to want to please, but they are all lip service. Tim Despoth, the project manager is particularity adept at this. The job is not only NOT done but, they have left us in a terrible condition and just expect us to let them out of their contract with no responsibility to clean up the mess they have created. Tim is always so quick to tell us that they will take care of everything and they want to make us happy but over 3 months later and no money to pay our expenses, well we just now know that they had no intention to take care of anything. They are hoping we will just crawl away and find another contractor which gets them out of the contract. We are in a much worse condition than when they started and nothing has been accomplished. We realize any company can make a mistake, which they clearly did or have an incompetent agent (James Lambert) working for them, which they have, but to try and not take responsibility for their disaster is inexcusable. 5 professionals from their company assessed the basement wall and convinced us that it needed replacement because it was eminently going to collapse. Further more, they say they never realized that it was a concrete wall. Many other contractors since have looked at it and pointed out how easy it was to see that from the cracking pattern alone it was a solid poured concrete wall. Their agent James Lambert was the contractor who was supposed to replace the basement wall. He had it fully excavated and then came and told me that "we had a real problem" because it was solid concrete and not a block wall as was supposed. He would have known after the first foot of excavation that it was indeed concrete. But not wanting to let the job go or get proper equipment because he would lose time, James hastily rented a gas powered concrete saw to experiment on taking out our wall. This was after admitting that he didn't do concrete walls! He then proceeded to cut the solid concrete wall inside the house without any dust precaution, even though he had assured my husband 3 days earlier that there would be no dust, and if equipment was used inside the home, that water and visquine would be used. He put 2 vertical cuts through the wall, from the inside to the outside, and then proceeded to attempt to knock down the wall with the heavy excavating equipment. Fine cement dust filled all 4 levels of our home. Tim Despoth was called in to assess the situation. He said the wall (the one that was so urgently in need of replacement) was no problem. They would just brace it and finish the waterproofing!!! He must have thought we had "DUMB" written on our faces. We asked them to replace the wall like we had contracted for. He told us they would not because they only worked with Jim Lambert and Jim didn't do concrete wall replacement. Tim Despoth said they would pay for the cleanup, which amounted to telling Jim to clean it up! Jim sent a "maid" who didn't show up. He gave me a sob story of how he wasn't going to make any $ on this job! He offered my husband and I $600 to clean it up ourselves. I asked him if he was willing to work for $1/hour? Only a professional disaster cleanup company can take care of this damage. The estimate and out of pocket expenses we have incurred come to over $5300. This includes cleanup for the structure only and not any of the contents which would be much more time intensive than the structure itself. It is 3 and 1/2 months later and Everdry has tried to make everyone else responsible for the damages, continually smiling and saying they will clean up the mess and make us happy. Their idea of voiding the contract is to be absolved of all responsibility. We still have the excavation next to house, 2 vertical cuts through the concrete wall, cement damage in much of the home and not even a show of good faith to take care of any of our out of the pocket expenses. They seem to be fixated on making Jim Lambert's insurance responsible, which they are clearly not and won't pay but a fraction of the cost unless we sign a release of all responsibility. Anyone can make a mistake and hire an incompetent and unconsciousness agent, but it is shameful to not take responsibility for damage they created. I cannot recommend anyone to trust these people. There are other contractors and companies that do wonderful work taking care of basement problems and waterproofing. I would advise to look around and don't be taken in by their very impressive sales pitch.
Description of Work: The provider was supposed to waterproof our home after replacing part of a basement wall. Over 3 months later the job is not done but our lives have been on hold with concrete dust on everything in the 4 levels of our home. We have a huge excavated hole next to our home that actually is lower than the foundation collecting water. And the concrete wall that they contracted to replace is still standing with 2 vertical cuts all the way through from top to bottom. Everdry refuses to take any responsibly for the disaster or fulfill their contract.

Response from Everdry Waterproofing
Everdry would like to get this resolved. Everdry has made many attempts to contact the customer with no response. In September the customer was offered 4 options and has not been in contact with Everdry to resolve the situation. The Shorts were interested in a release of contract which was faxed to them on September 12th for review. They were also offered the four options below. Options: 1. Brace existing wall with steel beams, Everdry to waterproof basement at reduced price 2. Everdry to hire sub- contractor to rebuild wall, Everdry to waterproof basement at contracted price 3. Customer to hire sub- contractor for the wall of their choice, Everdry to waterproof basement at reduced price 4. Insurance company to pay for dust claim and customer to void contract with Everdry Everdry has forwarded all information provided to the Insurance Company re the dust. This is being handled by the Insurance Company. If Everdry can do anything to help that process along we are happy to do so, but have not been able to speak with the Shorts to know where the claim stands. Everdry has not halted or delayed the work to be performed on the property. We in good faith started the job with no down payment and no money has been exchanged. Everdry has been in business for over 25 years and has over 14,000 customers. We stand behind our work. Everdry is looking forward to meet with the Shorts to see how they would like to proceed.

A crew of 6 men came to the house. Everything was explained to us before the work started. We were amazed at how efficiently everyone worked. They covered whatever we left in the basement with plastic and also blocked the doorway with plastic. The digging outside was all done by hand, so no equipment tore up the lawn. The foreman invited us to see the progress daily and gave us a daily update on what would be accomplished. Our basement walls are old stacked stones and were challenging to address. However Everdry has experience working with these types of walls and not only waterproofed them, but also repaired them where the mortar had dissolved leaving major gaps. The crew finished in 4 days and honestly left the basement cleaner than when they had found it. We would recommend this company especially to people who have older homes like ours.

I had excellent results in the water proofing of my foundation. We had a big rain storm after they finished the job and what would have been water soaked foundation and basement was now bone dry. Everyone from the salesman to the installers were knowledgeable, courteous, and hard working. Everything they did was first rate. The cost was substantial, but you get what you pay for, and for what I got it was well worth the price. I got more than I thought I would get. I got a package that included a dehumidifier, "EZ flow" ventilator, and a sump pump with battery back-up. My paint peeled, crumbling basement walls were covered with "Dura Shield" plastic liner. My basement walls now look clean, neat, and tidy. They replaced my old plastic downspouts with top-of-the-line white metal one's with flexible couplings. They hauled away some old junk doors, and an old non-working dehumidifier. They torn down and removed a old wooden coal bin from my old house. They did an excellent job cleaning up after they finished work.
Description of Work: My basement was waterproofed. This involved removing one foot of concrete basement floor around the perimeter of my basement. They then dug a properly deep trench and lined it with gravel that was later covered with concrete to the level of the existing basement floor. At the low end of the trench they installed a sump pump with a battery back-up. They also dug a trench outside around the foundation of my home that drained into a gravel lined sump. My basement walls were covered with "Dura Shield" plastic liner. I got an "EZ flow" ventilator and a dehumidifier with the package I purchased.

Overall, this was a very positive experience. They guided me through the whole complicated process step by step, with patience and professional concern. I talked to and saw many people, some on the "office" side of things and others on the "hands-on" side of things. They were all quite pleasant and professional. The job itself took three days. The first day only one guy showed up to get the thing started. He ripped up the cement in the basement, after covering everything with tarps (which they provide). The second day a crew of 5 showed up and dug BY HAND along the perimeter of the house, and did some work indoors. The third day a slightly smaller crew came and finished the job. They left the basement in pretty good shape. All I had to do was sweep the floor. They even hooked up the washer and dryer for me. They all worked amazingly hard and really fast. There was a follow-up visit a week later to make sure that everything had been done to specification, and the guy saw that one of the spouts had not been replaced and did so himself. The only thing I'll say is, make sure to check whether your exposed pipes have leaks. If you have an old house, as I do, issues are likely to arise when old pipes are disturbed and exposed. But they are equipped to take care of pretty much any issue that may come up. They also provide very comprehensive warranty, included for the first year and then in the neighborhood of $60.00 a year, which I plan to purchase. Bottom line is: this is not a cheap company, and I imagine that not everyone can afford their services. But if you have the means, they really provide a top-of-the-line service that relieves you of any worry. They work fast, with precision, and they have it all down to a t.

First of all he barely examined our basement. The representative claimed we needed to have the basement waterproofed etc. He then gave us an estimate of $15,000.00 and if we wanted the crawl spaced done it would be $18,000.00. However, he just happened to. have a cancellation and if we signed that very day he would give us a discount for 12,000 and 15,000 if we decided to include the crawl space. The representative was very pushy. We told him this was the only company we contacted and we would like to see other estimates. I contacted another company I found on AL. The other company informed us we did not have any foundation problems or water in the basement just condensation and told us to use a basement paint and to check our gutters. He also added "I maybe missing something but for a basement your size the cost would only be 6,000. We did not tell him how much THIS company estimate. Also while watching a remodeling show I saw a home get a totally new foundation by raising the house and putting in a concrete block foundation for 30,000. All I can say if you have this company come out be sure to contact other companies, do your homework,. If I would not have gone on this site I probably would have spent 15,000 on unnecessary repairs.
Description of Work: I made contact with this company at the home and flower show. Tlhe company gave us an estimate two years ago for approximately 15,000.00. We were not in the position at that time to move forward. Their office contacted us again and we agreed for their representative to return and give us another estimate.

I have the Everdry Waterproofing System in my home, and couldn't be more pleased with it. My basement used to be wet in multiple places, and now I don t have one drop of moisture. I am so grateful because we were able to fulfill our plans of making it a finished basement. Our kids now sleep in it and we even added a bathroom. Couldn't of done it without Everdry. I highly recommend them because it is well worth the investment. Thank you and God bless. S. D. Archbold, Ohio

The wall cracked and moved so much the steel beam BENT my wall was so bowed, about 4 inches that i could actually put my hand theough the crack that ran along 55 feet of wall.....i could see the out doors, they did have a warranty on the work they did . But I was told wall movement was not covered. I was also informed that the wall movement and crack was my fault because i did not wash the walls to get rid of mould that had been caused by moisture. I was under the assumption that they waterproofed the basement so there should not have been any moisture. I was also informed that within a few weeks that the wall would collapse. They said if i wanted it fixed i would have to pay full price for them to do again what they did the first time they had come in. This was only a couple years after they completed the work. When they had completed work the first time i was left to clean up their mess. I found that unacceptable. I did not think i should be lugging their left behind dirt and rocks out of my basement.
Description of Work: Provider came in to water proof the basement wall. Interior and exterior. They dug around exterior did what ever they did out there, then dug inside basement placing STEEL beams against wall to prevent movement. Put in a second sump pump that was a normal thing to do.

I was shocked they came out to do the service in the middle of the winter, but they completed the project with no problems at all like it was perfect weather. The crew was very professional and courteous. They cleaned up inside the basement extremely well. They forgot to leave a pile of dirt for after the snow melted, however that works out better since we would not have been able to do anything with it until now (especially with this winter). I am sure they will bring in back when they come for the spring checkup I am about to setup. 1. They installed the water barrier on the outside perimeter wall and we only had to have 2-3' of space for them to do this job. They dug the trench by hand, not with machines that cause you to have remove bushes, shrubs, flowers etc...! 2. They installed drainage in the basement along the perimeter inside by removing the concrete, installing the drainage below the foundation, and covered the drainage with stone and new concrete. This will eliminate the backup flooding issues coming under our home when the rivers overflow into the city drainage system. 3. Removed our old sump pump (and left it since it was still usable) and then installed a new battery backup sump pump with a very high quality recharging inverter and two batteries for the backup. 4. Installed a quality air control system that controls the air and humidity in our home. This system is very quiet, low power usage and is completely vented to the outside. We thought we were going to have some wall webbing done but the supervisor on the crew said our walls did not require any, which was a relief to find out. They sealed any cracks in the wall blocks, between the blocks, and along the tops and bottoms of the wall wherever needed.

They were here Exactly when they said they would be, as a matter of fact we were having a lot of work done on our house that was rented out for 20 yrs before we bought it, as I recall they were the only ones that actually showed up on time. They worked like crazy, it was a well oiled machine! There were about 6 guys at the time and they only stopped for lunch. We never heard a foul word, they were very professional.
Description of Work: EverDry waterproofed my basement approximately 19 years ago. I have had wall to wall carpeting ever since. We have Never had a problem! Thanks EverDry, Don't know what we would've done without the entertainment room down there! All 3 kids grew up with a play area and we had somewhere to gather and watch a movie as a family! Only one child left at home now but we still have a place for her friends to come over and they can watch a movie without bothering us. Thanks Again, 19yrs later!!

Service didn't go very far. I scheduled an appointment with Everdry Waterproofing for them to come out and do an estimate. The weekend before my appointment the receptionist called to ask me some questions that I felt were un necessary and inappropriate to ask me. She asked me what my work hours were, even though my appointment was already scheduled. Not only did she ask me what hours I was working, she also asked if I lived with anyone else. I asked her why she needed to know that information, and she replied that she wanted to make sure I had someone with me incase I forgot anything they told me??? I told them to cancel my appointment, because I felt uncomfortable with the questions she was asking me. About two weeks later she called me to ask me who I ended up going with. I explained that it was none of her business, while she kept pushing the issue, so I ended up hanging up the phone on her.

Our basement had flooded several times because it didn't have any way to get water out. EverDry came in, put drainage tiles inside and out, and put in a sump pump. One of our basement walls was starting to bow in, so they put a steel reinforcement in to keep the wall from pushing in further. They were polite, worked very efficiently and left everything looking nice. It has been about 13 years and the basement has been dry ever since. BC - Sylvania, OH

Day One: one man dropped off. He dug the trenches all around the back of the house. Broke up concrete in the basement. Day Two: Whole Crew. Broke up the rest of the concrete, dug out trenches in the front of the house, applied water proofing to cellar outside walls, put in pipe and water drains, sump pump, and ran the venting for the easy-breathe system. Day 3: Full Crew except for one man. All trenches were back filled. Cement was poured in the cellar, vent wells were installed, piping to the outside, and the sump pump back-up tied in. I was shown how to operate the equipment and the job was finished! I can't say enough about how nice each and every one of the crew was. Any question was answered politely and thoroughly. If needed in another home, I would not hesitate to hire the firm again. SLS
Description of Work: trench and fill (install pipe)around basement and apply water proofing outside. Install new drainage system all around the basement inside with new pipe, easy-breathe system, large dehumidifier, and new sump pump with a battery back up system.
