Wow! Kyle, Jake and Earl were amazing! They arrived early (8:15 AM) and worked until 3:00 PM---exactly when they said they finish! They certainly know their stuff! Polite, informative just great to have around. They did a great job of explaining how things worked, and cleaned up after the work was done. We could not be happier!!!!

Mid-Ohio just installed a generator for us. The job was more complicated than most because we had to relocate our gas meter (which needed to be done anyway). They coordinated the effort with Columbia Gas, then installed the generator. The workers were wonderful! They were friendly, knowledgeable, kept us informed of progress, and discussed the various installation options with us before doing the work. They clearly enjoyed the work - judging by the laughter and occasional singing we heard. And, they even laughed at some of my jokes! ?

We had Steve from Mid-Ohio Generator give us an estimate on installing a back-up generator for our house.  Steve was very knowledge about the different options and explained the costs involved.  Steve mentioned that our current gas line and meter might not be sufficient to support a generator.  It turned out that Steve was right.  We needed to upgrade our gas line and meter, which added quite a bit of additional cost to the project.  We decided to still go ahead with the generator, but were at the mercy of Columbia Gas to schedule the installation of our new line and meter.  It took almost 2 months for Columbia Gas to come and do the project.  The generator installation itself went very smoothly and the crew was personable and professional. 
Steve had warned us that the gas company would not connect the new meter, which is located outside, to the gas lines inside our house.  As such, he had people on stand-by on the day Columbia Gas was doing the work to hook up our internal gas lines with the new meter, which we really appreciated.  
We will use Mid-Ohio Generator to service our generator annually.  I would recommend Steve to anyone who is looking to install a generator.

Excellent service! The gas meter had to be replaced to provide enough pressure or something so we wouldn't have any trouble with the Generac running. Which the other companies that we talked to did not mention. It was only $500-800 for the gas company to come out and put in new meter. They put down gravel for the new base to sit on and placed the generator. The guys that do the gas line work came in and ran the new lines to the generator and Steve came back and finished the installation. It was all done in 1 day. Everyone was supper nice and respectful. My husband handled the $$ transactions so I'm not certain about the prices. The Generac that we picked out for our emergency needs happened to be large enough to service our entire house and garage! Steve will come out the first year and perform maintenance service at no charge.
I strongly recommend this company to everyone. Now if I can convince my parents to get a generator put in.

The installers showed up on time around 8:30AM. They did a great job of leveling the landscape, applying gravel and anchoring the slab the generator will be placed on. The electrician was very professional and did an excellent job mounting the transfer switch next to our main circuit breaker and doing all the required wiring.  The natural gas line installers also did a great job of running the gas line from our gas meter to the generator. They attached it up next to the foundation right under the cedar siding and it is not visible.

The entire job took them about 7 hours. Before they left they thoroughly went over the operation of the generator as well as transfer switch. They also did a power outing simulation to be sure the generator starts up and transfer switch works properly.

I would recommend Mid-Ohio Generator to anyone interested in purchasing a whole house generator.

Steve came to the house and met with my husband. The gas meter needed to be replaced with a larger capacity one so we called Columbia Gas and made arrangements for that. Cost $600-800. Once that was finished we called Steve and scheduled installation. Dan & Eric arrived promptly and began working on the gas line changes. Ron arrived with the generator and began the process of putting down gravel and leveling, put down the pad and setting up the generator. Hirshell reviewed with me what I wanted on the generator. He and Ron went through the house and circuit breakers to see what all we could fit on the 14 generator circuits. Surprisingly our house is small enough that almost everything will work on the generator. They were in and out in 4.5 hours.
Now if I can only get my parents to get one of these. I highly recommend this company.

We purchased a whole-house generator (20K) from a local store. Their installer was unreliable, and we did not trust his abilities. Steve
McCathern can perform installations on private owners, and through his company, who sells Generac, as well. The installation was, at first, thought to be more expensive, but when all factors were added up (such as a base for the unit, etc) very similar. More important to us, it was reliable and safe. When the Derecho hit, we were without power for 9 days- thank goodness for the generator, which worked flawlessly. We even had my elderly mother-in-law with us as her assisted living facility had no a.c.- it was 100 degrees. Steve also does maintenance (and repairs), which is why we saw him yesterday. Totally professional, friendly, very knowledgeable- we have no hesitation in recommending him, and have done so numerous times already.
