1. Recovering files from old computer.  I had talked to the consultants at Office Max and they told me that the files were just plain lost forever. Earl took out the old computer disc and put it in another computer, so that he could make a copy of the files. He came to my house to pick up the old computer, and returned the next day with a flash drive, which he used to copy the files to my new computer. He charged the same amount that Office Max would have charged to TRY to do something. $75 for this job.

2. Set up Cable in my house.  My ATT service deteriorated as the price rose, and did not even work at  times.  Earl advised me that I could do better with Time Warner. He met me at the TW office, helped me sign up for a discounted service, advised me that it would be cheaper to buy the equipment myself and have him install it, rather than pay rent on the equipment. Later he came to my house and installed the equipment. I have had the service for about 3 months, and I save $20/month compared to ATT. The internet service is much faster (and always works)  and the land phone-line works fine. $100 for this job.

Earl is punctual, professional and makes an effort to help you get the job done!!  Also, he does not take a lot of time on things -- for example, returning with the flash drive the next day. I recommend him highly.

My computer was responding very, very slowly both in accessing the internet and opening various programs once I was finally online. Earl had done some work for me two times previously and I was very satisfied with his work.  I already knew I needed a new router so I had purchased one earlier that week. I called him about 9 a.m. and we set up a 1 p.m. appointment at my home.  He, as usual, was punctual and began working immediately.  After installing the router, Earl ran a download/upload speed test.  He was quite dissatisfied with the results and asked me how many "megs" (I think) I was purchasing on my TWC plan.  I didn't know so he reviewed my last bill.  The speed test wasn't even close to what I was paying for.  He called TWC and spend 20-25 minutes working with the representative to improve the modem's functuality.  Once that issue was resolved, Earl downloaded some software to correct the problems on my pc.

While he waited for the programs to run, he took a closer look at my TWC bill.  He had some questions about a few of the charges and the amount I was paying for the services.  On his laptop, Earl checked out the various packages on TWC website and the costs of 1, 2, and 6 megs.  He thought I was overpaying for what I was receiving.  I told him I had called TWC two months earlier to try to reduce the costs but, after about an hour on the phone and no satisfaction from TWC, I gave up. Earl offered to go to TWC with me and negotiate a lower price.  That offer alone was definitely service above and beyond anything I would expect! 

We agreed upon a time to meet at the TWC store.  Earl's demeanor is always friendly and calm.  Plus he really knows what he is talking about.  After only about 10 minutes, he had not only negotiated a $79 reduction in my monthly bill but also had upgraded the number of megs I have.

I am so pleased to have discovered Earl on Angie's List.  His knowledge and sense of really completing a job is exactly what we all want and, unfortunately, rarely receive.  He is a valuable asset in this community. I would recommend him to everyone in need of computer service or repair.

I emailed Earl over the weekend and he got in touch with me.  He came to my home on Monday morning.  We had set the time for 9:00 a.m. but called and said he was running about 20 minutes late which was fine.  I had Earl check over my computer to make sure it was set up right because I was getting lots of pop ups, running slow, etc.  I am not a techie person so I had to call him after reading previous reviews and they were all very good.  He did troubleshoot some problems and also updated some programs.  He was very friendly, professional and went right to work.  Earl really knows his stuff.  My computer is running fine and if my computer has more issues, Earl is the first person I will call.  He's very, very good.  Priced fairly.  I highly recommend Earl for any issues you may be having--from basic to more complex.  He's your computer expert!!

My computer crashed around 5PM on 11/13.  I called Earl - and he arrived at 7pm.  Was able to retrieve some files i really needed to work the following day.  He took my computer -said the hard drive failed.  He replaced and managed to restore all my files.  He came to the house again to get an external drive and then the next day returned with the finished computer - running perfectly with all my files - even all the outlook emails.  Earl was truly the best in every way - A+ and then some

It went very well.

This is the third time that Earl has come to house to fix one of our PCs. One time, he told us it was time to buy a new computer. He wrote down exactly what we needed on a new computer. He then came out and set it up.
Earl not only explains what is wrong but why it is wrong and also what will fix the problem.
Having VVE is like having our own in how tech support!!!

We used a local server for our database and common files for people to share in the office. It suddenly crashed one day and all of our data was seemingly lost. We contacted Earl who was able to extract our data as well as our database from our broken server and was able to get our business back up and running again. We have since moved to the cloud so as to avoid this problem in the future. We also had a problem with our printer not being able to print due to our new server and Earl came back out at no charge to help us set that up. Earl was not only helpful but a pleasure to work with. Would recommend to any home user or business.

Earl answered the phone 1st time & we scheduled a date for service at my home. He arrived promptly and began working to assess the problems. He was very knowledgeable about the processes both hardware and software. I would definitely use V V E Computer Consulting again in the future.

I think Earl was great and cheap at the price. I had already paid another company to fix the old computer and it was worse than
before they started.  He was a little late for the appointment because of address problems, but he still came the same day and 
worked for two hours.  If my internet connection had not been so slow I.m sure he could have finished the same day.  He brought
both computers back the next day after calling to verify the time was OK.  He then set up the new laptop with the wireless
printer and solved a few problems with the fingerprint scanner before he left.  I am delighted with the work he did and the short
amount of time it took.  I would recommend him to anyone.  I am very pleased that he came to Summit county even though he
lives in S. Euclid.

Telephoned him and explained problem, set up appointment for Mon. at noon.  He spent about 15 minutes and fixed the problem.

It was very, very good and I was well pleased. He was punctual and on time. The pricing was satisfactory.

After getting the "blue screen of death", I checked Angie's list and from other reviews called this company. Earl came out within a few hours, called a half hour before arriving, is extremely professional and beyond knowledgeable. He tried to boot up the CPU, no luck. He took the CPU with him and said he felt he could recover my files. He called later in the evening saying he was able to recover all data, pictures, and e-mail; and that he was going to see if he could get the CPU to boot up and said he would return the CPU along with a flash drive late morning of the next day. He called me in the morning and said "the computer is working"! He said he would be out in the morning and would call a half hour before arriving, which he did. He reconnected the CPU and VIOLA!
Not only did he back up all my files to a flash drive, the computer is working fine--I'm using it right now!
Do not hesitate to call this company for computer repair of all types!

He was good, and he did a good job. I have to call him and tell him to come out and look at my computer for me. He is a good guy, he knows what he is doing. I got him off of the Angie's List magazine. He is an old man but he is good. You have to be careful when using these guys because I know one guy who would do something to the computer such that after one year it will go down, so you have to call them again. He took his time to go in and showed me different things that I didn't know.

Installer arrived on time and was prompt with service. He explained what he was doing and it's purpose.  We discussed troubleshooting any future issues if they came up.  Basically, a new range extender was installed to help with wireless connection in our older home.  Installer was here for 30-35 mins.
