Our experience with them was great. Although they are very casual in quoting work and scheduling it, they were very professional, very punctual. On the day that most of the work was done, they brought out a very dedicated, professional crew. We were very satisfied with them.

It went okay. It was tough to find a local guy. It was a little confusing between their website and finding someone who serviced my area. They did a good job. I might consider using them again.

.The estimator arrived at the agreed upon time. They agreed that the tree in the front yard had to come down. They made offers on other products, but I mainly wanted to treat trees. Good estimates, good company (even though my next-door neighbor spoke ill of them).

We’ve had very good service from them for both lawn work and tree and shrub maintenance. They also spray our ash trees a few times per year and our trees have been doing well. I would highly recommend them.

This was the second quote I received for the removal of a large tree. First let me define "large". I had read several other reviews where people reference "large" trees. They must not have been as big as they were tall, because all of my quotes were MUCH bigger. When I say large I mean 40+ feet tall and about 5-6 feet diameter; a very old silver maple that was dying due to old age. This quote at $3000 and the second most expensive. It included tree removal/stump grinding

As far as I recall, they did a fine job removing the tree. They were supposed to come back and remove the stump, they never did and didn't respond the phone calls. I ended up having to hire somebody else to do that. So I wouldn't use them again. I was frustrated, they did not finish the job.

Initial contacts were professional. Service was performed promptly. Service was completed as promised, on time. No damage to residential structure or nearby rhododendrons. Work site was cleaned up after the service.

David Joy was wonderful. The price was so reasonable and they did a great job. David has a great eye for the type of bushes that would look good with our home. Everything looks so nice now is growing well.

I called on Monday in the morning. They said that I am in Chuck's service area and he will be getting back with me. So Tuesday again around 11:00am and they said that I am in Jim's service area and he will be getting back with me. So at 7:00pm on tuesday, I decided to look at Angies list once again to try to find someone who will do the work I need done. They neither asked me what the situation was or anything probing. They told me Jim would be calling me on tuesday. He didnt. If this is an indication of their service, maybe its better that they didn't call. Back to angies list to try another number!

On first visit, did not trim a full foot away from house. I had to call them back. Second visit, they said they had finished, and left. When I went around the SIDE of the house, there were still limbs within a foot of the house. Third visit, they finally got all branches trimmed a full foot from the house, but I did have to ask him to go back up and finish shaping one part of the tree where several branches stuck out.

Showed up on time with heavy duty equipment. Very professional. Explained everything in detail before they got started. Layed down mats on the lawn so the heavy equipment would not damage the grass or sprinkler heads. Crew did a fantastic job cleaning up with no damage to anything.

The assessor was professional and knowledgeable. He discussed exactly what they would do to remove the branches hanging over our house. On the day of the trim, he showed up to check on the workers, who were amazing. They maneuvered their giant truck and chipper delicately around our poorly parked neighbors, trimmed the tree, cleaned up and were gone before I knew it. They arrived on time and were very polite. All are also licensed and bonded - highly recommend this well known company for professional service.

Work was handled very well. As mentioned the main issue was to drop the tree in a direction away from the house. It appeared that all appropriate safety measures were taken. We were surprised at how quickly everything was cleaned up and hauled away.

At the start, there were some problems with communication. I would speak to one representative and explain the issue, then another representative would call and not be aware of my previous conversation. This also impacted how long it took between by initial contact and the work finally being completed (approx. three week). However, allowances should be made because this work was requested as a result of a large tree falling in our backyard because of hurricane Sandy, and I know that Davey was inundated with work helping others in far worse situations than us and helping the utilities restore power. Once someone did come out and look at the work, I was immediately provided with an estimate that was fair, and the actual work was scheduled to a few days later, completed quickly and efficiently, and bang on estimate. Overall, it was a good experience and I would use Davey Tree again.

Work and workmen were all very professional. Clean-up after the work was excellenty. My only negative -- it took a long time to get thines actually scheduled and done after I'd accepted the bid. I realize it's a busy season, but I would have appreciated communication indicating how long it would take.

As quoted, as delivered. Really can't ask for more. Staff was on time and professional.

I had marked about 50 stumps all over my yard that needed ground down. I have worked with Davey Tree in the past and this experience was just as good. I had an estimate emailed to me within a day and the service was done within a week. All the tree stumps had been marked with flags. They did not miss any flags and they had them all neatly placed on my patio when I got home. Very easy to work with and will definitely call them again.

This work went really, really well. If every company was like the Davey Tree Company, then we wouldn't need Angie's List. The salesperson, Dave Joy, was professional and knowledgable. He answered my questions, after he came out to quote, and even came back and answered some more questions in person. On the day of the work, the crew arrived as scheduled. They were professional and hardworking. They really know what they are doing - if the didn't, my house, my neighbor's house, 4 garages, and lots of kids playthings could have been damaged. I was impressed by the safe manner in which they took down each section of trees. I was also impressed that they cleaned up incredibly well on each day of the two day job. None of the crew swore, no one smoked next to my house, none of them were foul in any way (I've had a lot of contractors at my house, this year, and I've had a lot of bad experiences.) These folks were top of the line and I will absolutely be utilizing their services annually! I would (and already have) recommended them to my neighbors. Really terrific.

They had to work in the neighbor's yard, so I was especially happy they worked so quickly and cleaned up so well. The price was very reasonable.

Shawn and his partner Jim arrived at the promised time with the big shredder truck and another truck to haul away the large logs. With amazing skill they attached ropes and a pulley to a huge tree next to the broken one. Then Jim pulled himself up to the top of the neighbor tree and fom there cut the top of the broken tree to disentagle it from the other trees, while Shawn manipulated another rope to send up the chainsaw and bring the branches down. When the tree was free, Shawn kept cutting large pieces of the trunk from the bottom until the whole tree was down. They hauled away all the debris and cleaned up the lawn. The whole seamless operation was completed in two hours. It was fascinating to watch two experts at work.

They are very good, and we were very satisfied with their work.

They were very prompt and were here when they said they would be here. They did the job in two days like they said they were going to do. They were very neat; they cleaned up after themselves and did not leave any mess. We would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

This was probably the third or fourth time that I have used them. I like that they are reasonable. They come out and give me an accurate estimate. They are punctual. They always clean up really well after they are done. They are courteous.

Jim was pleasant and professional. He was quick. The services were completed in less than 3-4 hrs.

We had a bit of confusion on this one. When I looked at the estimate, I did not notice on the diagram that the wrong tree was slated for removal. It really is my fault for not noticing and also the fact that the inspection was scheduled for while I was out of town. I usually arrange to be available when the estimator comes. I noticed that they were really going strong on the wrong tree and called Dave Joy. We stopped work on that tree and got it straightened out. It turns out that I did not have to have the whole tree removed--just one of the triple trunks--and the "wrong tree" would certainly live. The upside is that that tree will not need trimming for quite a while. I figured the price broke about even, all considered, so I did not quibble about it. I have used this company for a number of years, so I would not downgrade them for an honest mistake that I should have noticed in the first place.
