He took 3 days to diagnose whether I need a new tank or just an ignition. And when he did do it, he took days to put the tank. I didn’t ask them, which I is my mistake, what kind of tank they put in and how much is it. They only carry one brand of tank and its cost $2000. I couldn’t believe it. I wasn’t happy with the way they put up the pipe from the gas pipes and the water pipes. I won’t have them again for anything.

Their price was very high and didn't have the proper equipment to do the job.  I decided not to use them at all.

Holy lateness! Appt scheduled for 10-12 and plumber showed up at 3. 4-5 calls to check on arrival that kept sliding back 30 minutes 30 minutes etc. The plumber was also exasperated with the timing having to drive from Solon to wear cleveland. The only bright side was the plumber himself who despite the fixture not fitting made it work and fixing the leak with pieces from the new faucet.
Response from Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service

"[Member's name removed], I am very sorry and completely apologize for Dwayne running behind on Saturday. He is a great guy, and unfortunately the call he went to in Solon was very unusual - they had two hot water tanks instead of the normal one, so the planning was behind. It is no excuse, and I sincerely apologize for the delay. I am very happy to hear he was able to create a solution to your issue and that you would consider using us again, Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Ron Trebec General Manager"

Matt (923) came out on Saturday night to evaluate the backup.  He was unable to do anything at that time, but contacted Chuck (1574) and they agreed to come back on Sunday afternoon to fix.  They came, as promised, and found the clean-out and were able to open the frozen pipe and clear the backup.

Larry, the Tech, tried several methods to clear the drain and eventually snaked it out. Even after snaking the drain was still slow, but Larry aggressively used a plunger and dislodged the clog. He cleaned up thoroughly and was done within the hour. Although somewhat costly, I believe it was money well spent.

We called Roto-Rooter because we saw an ad that they did bathroom renovation work.  They sent out their go to bathroom renovation guy (Bill #811) when we called about ripping up our tub because he was their expert on this type of work.  When Bill came in for the initial quote/consult he let us know that to do a complete tear down and tile restoration it would be approximately $3,000 but it could potentially change based on what he finds when he tears it all out.  This house is 100 yrs old and the last time any of the plumbing/valves were serviced was back in 1980 so there were quite a few that were in need of replacing.  by the time we took care of the necessary repairs just to fix the valves to be able to shut off water to the different areas we were coming up to our budget.  Bill was very helpful and made sure we didn't feel forced to proceed once we got to around $2,500 in repairs in order to keep a few hundred available to install the tub surround ourself.  The shower isn't ready to use yet, but everything we wanted from Bill was completed.  I can't thank Bill enough for the quick turn around from quote to when he came on site and got the work done.  Price of the job was rated as a C because i felt that it was right in the middle of other quotes that we had seen.  It was not the lowest but it also wasn't the highest.

Appointment setup went fine and was scheduled for the next day.  Both Tim (#914) and Jack (#18) came on time,  prepared and had the old drain removed, the new one installed and area cleaned up with 2 hours.  Price was a bit more than originally discussed but was acceptable based on the work.  Will call this company again if future work is needed.

It went well, drain and pipe were snaked out and a clogged was found and broken up. Only took about 30 minutes total.  Everything works fine now and the work came with a limited guarantee. I would definitely call them again if needed.

I purchased the filtration system myself and then called Roto-Rooter to schedule the install. Why Roto-Rooter? I had dealt with this company two years ago, specifically an, honest, fair, and well-skilled plumber named Mike Blevin. So I requested him again. I even got a Saturday appointment. He looked at the filtration system I purchased and showed me that it was waaaay too large for the space it had to fit in. He also said that  plastic fittings were not a good way to go and that he would bring brass ones to prevent leaking. He went through considerable effort to get the model number from the one installed and suggested a few ways I could track down a new one. So I did. Mike didn't charge for the service call, which was very cool of him.
I called on Monday to schedule Mike for Saturday between 1 & 3. All systems go. On Saturday morning, the very polite R-R dispatcher called to say that Mike had big jobs and couldn't make it because no one told him I had requested him. I was disappointed and said to send somebody. Dispatch called back in five and said that Mike had rearranged his schedule and would be @ my house between 10 and 10:30. Fortunately, I was available.
Mike was on time and brought copper rather than brass fittings. Why? Because copper fittings can be crimped to the pipe for a perfect, no-leak seal. Brass fittings have to be welded -- a much more timely and expensive process. He put together the estimate for me and while he wrote in a "not to exceed" cost clause, I was still a little shocked that removing and installing a $40 filtration unit that is actually supposed to be a DIY procedure would cost nearly $200. (No, I couldn't do it myself, but still...)
Anyway, Mike actually had a bit of a difficult time removing one of the crappy old plastic fittings AND he used a hi-tech machine to crimp the copper fittings into place -- something that's definitely not on a DIY menu. He told me what to do to preserve the o-ring inside the filter canister, and gave me a step-by-step procedure for shutting off and turning on the water when changing the filters in the future. (No, you don't just turn off the water at the main line -- unless you don't care about a big spray when removing the filter canister.)
Call Roto-Rooter. Request Mike. You will be pleased with the outcome, and that's money well spent.

I used these guys about 3 years ago to auger out an outside drain.  Even then after clearing the drain with the auger, the serviceman refused to take my wife's "no" to follow up with power-flush so he called me at work, although he got the same answer.  My guess is they're really heavily incentivized to upsell the power flush (FYI, the drain they augered still flows fine without the power flush)
Had another drain outside back up.  I had actually tried to clear it myself with my own power auger (yes, I have one), but I encountered tree roots and lacking the right auger tool, it went nowhere.  Called plumbing supply, but the root cutting attachment was backordered, so scheduled a call with Roto Rooter to get an estimate for them augering.  Anticipating the upsell, armed my wife with a page about what we wanted (augering), what we didn't want (power flush), and what we might consider (repairs to the drain pipe in the cistern).
From my wife's account, the tech came over in a rush - he wanted out of there quickly and made that clear (even complaining when my wife too him down to the basement but forgot the deadbolt key upstairs).  Took one look at the drain and announced his auger wouldn't fit in the space so if we wanted anything done, it would be a $600 power flush, and he was out of there.
Keep in mind I had MY power auger out there no problem just the weekend before, and it fit fine.  Basically, this guy was only interested in selling $600 power flushes, no matter what.
I guess they did me a backhand favor because when I checked the drain a week later, I noticed I was getting some flow (perhaps my auger did do some good after all), and with a little flow I'm treating it with $40 of Home Depot copper sulfate, but I'm done calling this Roto Rooter franchise.

We got a response within 30 minutes of calling; the plumber showed up shortly afterwards and was extremely professional. He gave us a lot of helpful information and snaked out the clogged drain in the basement floor, which took some time because there were roots in there. He explained the procedure, cost, and what we should do to avoid further problems very thoroughly. The whole thing took about an hour and we were immediately able to use the washing machine again with no problems at all. Drain flowing perfectly.

Roto-Rooter dispatch called ahead to confirm arrival time, which I greatly appreciated. When Mike arrived, he was very friendly and professional throughout the entire visit. He took the time to explain my options and what he was doing to diagnose and resolve the drain issue. He felt confident he could resolve the problem, and he did. I was disappointed I had spent money on another service call (as directed by my Home Warranty), and that plumbing company could not solve my problem. They guaranteed the work for 6 months, I would use Roto-Rooter and request Mike (#1063) again, even if they are not included in the contractors my Home Warranty wants me to use. Thank You Mike and Roto-Rooter,

Bill was great. He has been a plumber for probably more than 30 years, so was very
knowledgeable, even about the weird setup in my 1950s bathroom. And at every
step, he always had the necessary parts already in his truck. He made sure to
answer all my questions (and I tend to have a lot) so that I really understood
the problems and how they needed to be fixed. He even showed me how to solder.
It ended up taking about 13 hours over two days to complete everything
(bathroom was by far the most time consuming), and throughout that time, it
seemed like Bill really cared about making sure the job was being done right.
He even stayed after his work hours until 8pm one night and skipped his lunch
the other day, just to get it done. Overall, I am very pleased with the service
I received and would definitely recommend Bill to others.

Parma, Ohio. Today was my third experience with Roto-Rooter over a period of 10 years. They always did a good job in the past (basement sewer, kitchen drain), so I called them again. My problem today was a blocked kitchen drain. I called about 8:30 in the evening and scheduled a service call for the next morning. When the morning passed I called and it was discovered that the service call was erroneously scheduled for the following day. However, Roto-Rooter had someone out within about 2 hours time. The technician (Walter #7986) did a good job of clearing the drain with a powered cable several passes through the drain pipe. He was personable, he protected all surfaces and left the area as clean as when he arrived.
