Very seldom can I say I give a company a bad rating but in this case I felt slightly taken advantage of. The technician offered to replace my old filter kit with a new one that was easier to replace in the future. After he replaced it he informed me the price would be approximately $108 and he continued with the service. I decided to Google the filter to ensure myself that these filters weren't significantly high to replace in which I was pleased to find that they were not more than $30 to replace however I came across the filter and bracket on amazon for $41.95 the exact item he replaced and I asked the technician if this was the same item and bracket he installed. The tech replied yes it is. I asked why you charging me almost $108 for an item that is only 41.95 and takes 2 minutes to replaced? The tech stated "well you're paying for our training and experience etc" and I replied that the filter could be set up by anyone with no experience necessary, it is only a clip and then inserting the filter. After the tune-up was completed I asked the technician what the 21 point tune up consisted of and he mentioned about 6 things he did such as cleaning the burner for example but then said I can't remember everything of the top of my head re: 21 point tune-up. This was only 5 minutes after he completed the job which gave me the idea everything wasn't completed if he didn't know what the complete tune up consisted of. The technician was a nice and I can't blame him for the pricing but having the reassurance that the work I requested excluding the price difference with the filter and bracket would have earned them a "B" rating. Air cleaner Aprilaire Replacement kit $41.95 (Amazon). The tech did call to tell me know he would be running a few minutes behind but showed up on time. I liked that.

As always, amazingly courteous service. They offered a hot water heater tune-up for sixty bucks. Didn't really know if it was something we have ever done in the past, except maybe thru a plumber, but decided to take them up on it, as I know I can always trust them (and they've NEVER seemed greedy nor have they been one to nickel & dime you to death. Glad I did, as I needed a part!

P.K. Wadsworth has become my go-to company for issues with my aging HVAC. My AC started blowing room temperature air on Sunday night before Labor Day. I called them Tuesday morning with a description of my issue and they had their technician Chris there by lunch time. Chris determined that the capacitor in my AC had become defective. He also sold me a "hard starting kit" for older AC's. This is a starting capacitor which eases the startup of the unit. Chris said that this is the most common problem he sees with AC's. I actually talked to a friend later that evening and said that when his AC went out he replaced the capacitor himself. He bought it online for $40. As an electrical engineer I'm a little embarassed I didn't try to figure this out for myself and save a lot of money!

I was having an issue with my furnace intermittently not lighting the main burner. The gentleman that responded to the call seemed to be very professional. When he ran his tests he stated that my lead thermocouple switch as well as gas valve and burner assembly needed to be changed over because parts were no longer available for this unit. The price he quoted me was $800.00. At that point I thanked him for his time and sought a second opinion on the matter. The 2nd company out was Sal's whose employee checked for a pressure drop and told me to contact my Gas supplier. Sure enough, the outside line had deteriorated and needed to be replaced. Had I hired P.K. Wadsworth, I would have spent $800.00 and still had a faulty outside gas line. On a side note, the lead controlled thermo couple switch is old but it is still available at furnace supply houses.

I'm very satisfied with their service. I trust them. They're always courteous and very efficient. My heating and air conditioning has been performing perfectly always since they have been doing the services for me. Their pricing is very fair and their responsiveness is very good. They call before they arrive. They always say they're on their way.

They come when they tell me they are coming and that is the first thing I like. They were on time when they said they were going to be there and they do complete the job. I would call them again for other jobs and I have recommended them. They performed service in one of my neighbor's houses. I was very satisfied with them. They came right on due, they completed the job, cleaned up the job, and left. I was happy with the pricing. It was probably about the same as the rest of them. I was very happy with them. They were definitely responsive.

The first scheduled appointment was a 'no-show' because of a massive freeze and all technicians were on emergency calls. Understandable but a phone call advising of the change would have been appreciated. The second appointment was much smoother and inspection was completed.

It was on a Sunday and the motor was under warranty for me. They came out on Sunday and was able to start the second motor on my furnace to get us through until the motor was replaced on Monday. They came back out and replaced the motor and did a great job.

Minor scheduling stumble day of, but all worked itself out. All seemed to go well, left with a CO report so I know they tested that for sure (all within spec). One small thing, the tech didn't seem to know that this was a pre-paid offer, tried to collect again, glad my wife didn't or that would have been some work to unwind.

PK Wadsworth has been used by me for both heating and air conditioning services at my rental home. Previous to this recent experience, I did not have any issues with PK Wadsworth. The issues that recently occurred were extremely frustrating and disappointing. It began when my tenants complained of the air conditioner leaking water when it ran. After two or three separate visits by the technician, the issue was finally diagnosed and that diagnosis was that the unit needed a new condensation pan. The final diagnosis occurred in late July. When it was agreed upon to order the part, the technician had to stop out yet again to measure the part that needed ordered. So at this point, there were three or four trips needed to just diagnose the issue and order the part needed. After a week or two of not hearing anything about the status of the part, I called PK to get the status since my tenants had been unable to use the air conditioner during this time and it was August. The dispatcher stated that the part shipped and they would be in contact to schedule a time to stop out to install it. After not hearing anything for a couple days, I called again and this time the dispatcher said that they were incorrect in saying the part had shipped as they had no idea what the status was. I expressed my frustration as my tenants were obviously frustrated as well that they had no air conditioning for an extended time. The dispatcher then suggested that I go purchase a window unit for them. When I inquired of if PK would help cover the cost, the dispatcher stated that this issue was not their fault and that I would be responsible for purchasing a window unit for them. After another five days, I called yet again after hearing nothing from PK and they stated that the part was finally on its way...this was on August 25th...original diagnosis was in late July. I then was hoping that the install could be expedited since my tenants had gone so long without air conditioning and based on the nature of the issues in getting the part. The dispatcher though would not willingly expedite the install since "they had a lot of calls since it was hot and a lot of AC units needed serviced." Ultimately, we were able to have the part installed however the technician was three hours late causing my tenants to leave the door unlocked which they were not intending to originally do since they had to be at work by the time he came. I was very disappointed in the overall customer service and communication process throughout. The technician did a fine job installing but diagnostic process could have been much more efficient.

They had an offer recently for a 14 point furnace check on Angie's List. They have an excellent reputation. Again, word of mouth is one of those things that helps a company. The representative was the gentleman that did the check was very thorough, explained everything. Again, it would probably be the interaction with the person that did the work and in fact they offer a service for an addition amount they will come out at any time 24/7 if you have a problem. I did have an occasion back in February to call them at like 12:30 at night over something that I perceived as a problem and they did come out. It was during when we were having the frigid temperatures. The gentleman was at, somewhere far away and then he had one more call and then he came to my house which was probably around 3:00. Nevertheless, he came and it had to do with my thermostat because I felt that I wasn't getting heat. Anyway, he came out and fixed it. It does indicate how their service is. They stand behind that guarantee that it is 24/7 if you have a problem and it's the dead of winter, they will get someone out there as soon as they can.

I had overlooked my maintenance renewal in the mail! I called and was able to renew over the phone. I scheduled my tuneup for 7/3 originally. They called and asked if I'd be willing to reschedule (it was the one week this summer NE Ohio actually needed air conditioning!) I was happy to, since my a/c was working fine, and I'm lucky to have a flexible schedule over the summer. I took a new appointment window on 7/21. I called to double check that they were coming about 2 hours into the 3 hour window (just wanted to make sure that the appointment hadn't gotten misplaced, because they sounded really busy the day they asked me about rescheduling!). They assured me I was on the schedule and gave me Brian's ETA. He arrived slightly after the original service window, but I knew he was coming a little late because I had called. He was very personable. My a/c is working fine and I really have to thank him for his suggestion to use air deflectors on my registers! I was telling him about the "thermostat war" in my house (my feet are always cold when my husband would like to lower the temperature even further). He suggested using deflectors to push the cold air up (I have wall registers at floor level). It has really made a difference!

They were also supposed to be her today between 1:30-4. They first called and they tried to reschedule it and when I said I needed it today and they said they would be here between 5 and 6.

Chris returned with Brian, and together they re-built the section of the A/C unit which was flawed. They worked non-stop for 6 1/2 hours until the work was complete. I would DEFINITELY hire Chris, Brian, and PK Wadsworth in the future with any other heating/cooling needs.

They ended up coming out three times before they found the correct diagnosis. They did a lot of things that they had thought was going to fix it and I spent at least $200 in additional costs. The technicians were nice and they spent a lot of time there. However, if they had called the manufacturer as I had suggested, they would have been able to locate the problem much sooner. I had done a lot research on the unit and the trouble and it was suggested through research to contact the manufacturer. As a homeowner, I was unable to call the furnace company and they required the contact to be from an HVAC technician. They eventually diagnosed that the motherboard needed to be replaced. They even suggested that my entire unit may need to be replaced. They quoted the repair to be about $700. I had another company come out and repair the motherboard for seventy percent less of the cost they had quote. I had felt pressured to purchase a special packaged deal with them and I signed up for it.I would not use them again or recommend them.

Looking into your account you were not charged anything when we had to come back out. The repair quote is really unfortunate, it appears that the service technician keyed the wrong number into his computer. That repair would have been more like $300. I'm glad you were able to get the repair made to your satisfaction. I understand your reluctance to use us again. We will be refunding you the unused portion of the service agreement that you purchased.
