P.K. Wadsworth Heating & Cooling

They were very responsive. It was a big job that they performed. They were excellent. They got the job done quickly with a minimum of mess. We were very happy with their service. Their price was good. We got four estimates, and theirs was the best. They estimated to do different jobs as there were different ways to do this. It looks good. PK Wadsworth Heating & Cooling win awards every year.

When I first booked the appointment, they were the only contractor that didn't do weekend or evening appointments so the girl on the phone (Kim) told me to use my vacation time. I met the owner's son Tyler on my lunch break on a Thursday. He could not provide me any pricing at that time. He promised me pricing by Monday via email. He didn't follow up with me until Wednesday (6 days later) and still had to pricing for me. To date (one week later), I have still have not received any pricing from PK Wadsworth. I have moved on. Overall, PK Wadsworth was terribly unprofessional and a waste of my time.

I went downstairs Thursday night and saw rusty water coming from bottom of furnace. Friday morning it was still coming so I called P K Wadsworth when I got to work. Their technician, Jeff, came to the house that afternoon. A check showed the carbon monoxide level was very high in the furnace. He recommended that I turn off the furnace until it could be repaired. Because the level in the house was low and I didn't want the pipes to freeze, I bought a very accurate carbon monoxide monitor from Jeff and turned the heat low. I was instructed to carry the monitor with me from room to room if I was going to be there for any length of time. At my request, Jeff also checked the age of my water heater. I was surprised to find out that it was 21 years old. (I am positive that neither the furnace nor the water heater would have made it to that age if my parents hadn't made the investment of having P K Wadsworth's Gold service plan all these years where a service man comes to check the furnace/air conditioning and water heater 4 times a year, I was also told that because of being a Gold service plan member, our repair was pushed up in their schedule rather than having to wait for a week and a half for their first available appointment.) John, their engineer, came out later that same afternoon and gave me an estimate to replace both the furnace and the hot water heater. The new furnace is a high-efficiency unit and John recommended that we check with our tax preparer to see if we qualify for an energy tax deduction of up to $1,500. John went over the estimate with me and explained that we were automatically given a discount because of being on their Gold Plan and an additional discount because we were replacing the two items at the same time. Before he left, John went to his car and came back with two space heaters for me to keep over the weekend in case the furnace had to be shut down completely. The plan was that Monday, after finishing up a job in the morning, they would arrive here at noon and install enough of the new furnace that I would have heat Monday night. Tuesday they would come back and finish up the furnace and replace the water heater. Instead, the installers called me Monday morning and asked if they could come an hour earlier. Because two additional installers were able to come and help later in the afternoon after they finished up their own jobs, the whole project was completely finished by a little after 4 p.m. that day. Jay, Brett and Josh were polite, hard working, and cleaned everything up when they were done. I had been a little nervous with everything being carried in and out because of newly installed hardwood flooring and freshly painted walls where they had to pass through while carrying the furnace and water heater, but they were very careful and laid down something to walk on and everything was just as new looking after they left.

It went excellently. They were very professional and courteous while doing the work considering that they had to deal with some troublesome tenants.

I called several HVAC companies for estimates to replace one or both of my very old and very inefficient gas furnaces with new equipment. Of the three companies, PK Wadsworth not only had the best price, they made me feel the most comfortable about what would be a large investment. The process went well from start to finish. Alan came out early one morning to look at the existing system and gather the data/measurements he needed to complete the estimate. He was very helpful in providing me with information other companies had not. Within a day he called me with a couple of options that kept my budget in mind. He also did the leg work of calling the city building inspector regarding required code. When the time came to install, we had originally slated 2 days for the installion. However the installers arrived promptly at 9am and had both furnaces installed, old units removed, and the work area cleaned up by 5:30pm. All that's left now is to wait for the city inspection. In the meantime, my tenant and I are both very happy with our new furnaces.

The installation was good, and everything went well. They were professional, clean, quiet and efficient, and they got the job done in a short time. We just turned on the boiler and it is starting to heat, and so I?m yet to make a decision on the quality of their product. They?ve given us good service over the years.

They were very professional. They were on time. They returned the calls quickly. The workers were nice and courteous. They explained everything and were to the point. They seemed to do a good job. They left the place really clean. They repaired an insulated duct. They took all the insulation off. Then they re insulated it and fixed it. It looks beautiful and seems to work.

Came out for a quote on the 25th and were at the house the morning of the 28th to do the work! Spent seven hours at the house, worked around the remodeling that was going on, tech was nice, cleaned up after self. Tech even loaned my husband his sledge hammer.

We were happy with every stage of working with P.K. Wadsworth from the sales rep who came to give us the estimate to the workers who installed the system. All were prompt, thorough, and professional. The company also arranged for a city inspector to come once the work was completed. The inspector said he almost never sees problems in equipment installed by P.K. Wadsworth.

They do a good job and they keep in touch and follow up on the phone. They let us know when they are coming and make sure that everything is good. The people who fix the AC and heating units are very professional. They tell you what is going on and what they need to fix, or if they need to fix anything at all. I am pretty happy with them.

A technician came out the same day I called. He was friendly and professional, quickly diagnosed the problem, and even gave advice about our furnace filters. I will definitely use this company again.

Job went very well, the technician explained everything he was going to do. I discussed a problem with the blower I was previously aware of and he recommended a course of action. The fact is, I wanted more done to repair the fan then he felt was warranted. Before he left I had an estimate for the repairs in hand and arrangements were made to proceed. They called today 6/1/09 and said the parts had arrived (this was NOT an emergency) and will be back this Friday. I highly recommend them. Two other companys that have serviced my furnace were terrible and pushed for additional services I did not request. The last company did the annual on my generator and never put it back in stand-by mode. I was without back up for over 3 months until I realized what they had done.

The work went extremely fast. The company arrived at the time and day promised, and a single technician was able to remove my old furnace and install the new one in about 7 hours. I had expected the job to take much longer. He was very skilled at his work and was meticulous cleaning up after himself. I would definitely use this company again for my heating and cooling needs. Once the work was finished, the company called back several days later to ensure that I was satisfied, that there were no problems, and to see if I had questions about the furnace. This was a gesture that I appreciated very much. The furnace has worked perfectly and I needed no follow up visits.

Tom came out the day I called and was very thorough. He took pictures of the existing furnace and answered all my questions. He called me back with a quote that was surprisingly equal or even cheaper than others. I hired them immediately and the job was done. The workmen could not have been more professional. They removed my old furnace and and installed a new one without any problems and were gone in a day. I will continue to hire them for all my heating and air needs.

They were very professional, responsive and punctual. They explained things really well and provided a lot of information about the work that they were doing. They did a very good job and I was very happy with their work.

The workers are punctual and polite. They are always well groomed and responsive to any questions that I might have about the system. They haven t done any major work where there is a need to disassemble anything. They always leave a tidy work area and I was very pleased with them.

Recently, they installed a new whole house air filter and humidifier. Last year, they took care of a repair for us. They're all very courteous and polite. The crew has good people skills and are very professional. They communicate well with you and get the job done.

They charged me $200 just to come out and give me a quote and did nothing. He told me that I needed a new A/C system and wanted to charge $1000 just to maybe fix it. They had an A+ rating on Angie's List but I feel that you were mislead.

They found that it was the compressor. The service man was not sure if we should get a new one or replacing a part. A week later I had to call them. The person I called to asked me if I knew who was handling it. We had no idea. He talked to us and left. He was not very punctual. It was another few days before somebody got back to us. It was much more expensive than the other quote we got.
