They promised a no-cost refinance that could drastically lower my interest rate. I was suspicious because their quoted interest rate was lower than quotes I received elsewhere, so I read everything very carefully. And they followed through. Brian and the other folks I worked with were responsive, transparent, and helpful. The refinance closed promptly and my interest rate fell to 3.375%.

I contacted several mortgage companies, both local and on the internet, about refinancing. Fearon had the best deal. They acted like they really wanted my business, and even came back with a better offer after I initially hesitated. I'm always a little leery about potential and quot;gotcha'sand quot;, especially with respect to closing costs. They took the time to explain in detail every itemized cost. The actual closing was a very simple affair, with a notary coming to my house at my convenience for signing of all the documents. Out of pocket cost was even a little less than their estimate. Very smooth, painless transaction. I recommended Fearon to a colleague at work, and she also had a very positive experience.

At first I thought this would be a great experience I even referred my friend to them. It all went down hill about 2 weeks before I was to close. First they were behind and had extended my closing...no problem. But the evening before I was to close I was told I would need to bring 7200.00 to closing...WHAT!! My estimate was 1800.00 and I had already given them 500.00 toward that. By the time the broker called me back (later that evening) come to find out they miscalculated my payoff for my original mortgage. When I asked why they didn't call me sooner when the closing cost were over 5000.00 higher I was told "because you had money in the bank" I was floored!! Yes I did have the money in my savings...it was for my daughters tuition due in march! I told him they would have to increase the loan amount because I couldnt pay it and what happened next was even more dissapointing! He said he could'nt. Because they had waited until the very last minute to close my rate lock was expiring so I had to close the next day or call it off. Well I thought I would just call it off...well then my rate would be higher because they had gone up and I would be out fees already paid for appraisal, loan fee's ...etc (about 1000.00 wasted) they offered no help with this...I was basically backed into a corner of throwing away 1000.00 and getting a higher rate VS putting closing cost on a credit card. Heck they didn't even offer to cut their fee's a couple hundred dollars for all the trouble. I will NEVER use them again...further more I will always share my story to anyone I hear is going to refinance...not because they made a mistake but because they offered no help to correct THEIR mistake.

I contacted them for a pre-approval in late May which went very smoothly. My wife and I have good credit scores, so we went with a conventional loan which they charged a service fee of 1995$. There are many other fees involved with acquiring the loan, but this is all that went to them. There seemed to be a million documents to sign, and as I never met face to face with anyone it did become a bit annoying playing the sign and fax game (mostly because I don't have a fax at home). We closed 4 days before the contract date which was great and my final closing came out to be about 400$ less for all the fees which was even better!

It appears they sell all of their loans which is a bummer, but I will use them again in the future if I need another home loan.

The loan was secured on time and most of the terms were kept. however they jacked up the closing costs by a nickel here and a dime there. There was an increase of $270 from the initial 'good faith estimate'. At that stage of the process we were just a couple of days away from the closing date and there was no time to haggle so we just went with the flow without complaining. The overall experience was good. They were courteous and professional throughout the process.

Called for rates and was walked through rates for fixed rate mortgage from 15 to 30 years. Had a lock placed for a 30 year fixed with no closing costs. Fearon's rates couldn't be touched by other banks and the other banks were charging closing costs also.
