Decks and Beyond

I have to agree with many recent reviews. We signed contract with with Decks and Beyond to rebuild our deck and paid 50% in May 2022. They promised to complete this project in early to mid August. Our sales consultant, JR, message on me August 17 that we are next in line for project and to be completed before 22nd. It is now August 3 2023. We called many times and left multiple messages at their main office and voicemail. I am surprised to see this business on Angi. We went thru arbitration via Angi in April 2023. Owner Russ told us that they will complete work. He came down to look at our deck again some time in April. He told us that he will give me date following week. Tried to contact him and also main office number. Just very frustrating.

There were a couple hiccups but overall it went okay. The installers didn’t listen to were we wanted our one side of fence to go, they placed it even with the neighbors fence. Well some of the fence posts were not cemented in correctly and e have to fix those since the lean now.

Over a year since I gave them my money for supplies to rebuild a deck. Numerous messages left and when use a different phone to call they answer and make false promises. I am out 6k and many others have the same problem. I don’t understand how they are still in business. Please do not give Russ Miller one cent until you have job completed. Continuous lies and never do they come through.

I had a wonderful experience with Decks and Beyond and will be back to get a shed soon! They built us a welded wire and wood fence around my back yard (1/2 an acre) and it is beautiful (see pictures)! I had a walk through with AJ before the fence was built, he communicated well and was open to my ideas and gave advice too! The workers who installed the fence were friendly, cleaned up after, and got the fence done in a timely manner while also doing a great job! After the fence was completed, I did another walk through with Russ and he was able to answer my questions a about when to stain and such and he did an on site walk through with me! There were no problems with the fencing or their communication throughout the whole process once soever. My dog loves her newly found freedom too! I was happy with the promptness and scheduling of my consultation and estimate, but once I put down $10K for a replacement deck and shed, I haven't heard anything back. A month after my estimate/down payment (which was early April 2022), I called to see when we were going to be scheduled for construction. Mindy promised to call back with any word, but again I'm experiencing crickets. From other reviews, I understand she went into unexpected maternity leave, but I've called twice in the last two weeks and haven't heard back. I didn't even get to talk to a person at the time--I left voicemails that weren't returned. This is very frustrating to me as that's an awful lot of money on the line to then hear nothing back about. Not to mention the deck we're trying to place is quickly disintegrating due to old wood, which is why we're replacing it in the first place! As of 13 October 2022, while our shed was eventually replaced (at the beginning of August), we are still waiting on our deck. Attempts to call and leave voicemails at least once a week have been met with crickets and no call backs, including trying to call the owner, Russ Miller, himself. I KNOW the shed alone wasn't worth the total of the down payment, but they haven't even contacted us for the remainder of paying the shed, so I don't know if they're counting the whole down payment as paying for the shed or what. At this point I'm incredibly frustrated. Oh, yeah, make sure they send you an itemized contract instead of just showing it to you, otherwise it's difficult to go forward with other actions once they go incommunicado. Difficult, but not impossible.

Decks and Beyond did a professional job. After an issue with communication, Russ Miller contacted us immediately, listened to my issues and came through with resolving them quickly. After that minor issue was resolved, the work done was great and we were very pleased. We would recommend them.

Hired decks and beyond after multiple estimates. The work was wonderful and communication was great. We are very happy with our deck and plan to hire them again to complete a pergola over the deck next spring.
