They did a great job.  Workers were there on time and very professonal.  They did a very good job cleaning up after  - I could not find any nails or debris left behind. 

On 7-1-2013 I called Barbera Home Improvement to ask for an estimate on repair and replacement of my gutters.   The person who answered the telephone said she would have someone call me as soon as possible.  I never heard from them again. Why is this an "A rated" company when it doesn't even return a call offering new business?

Worklers showed up on time, tore off the old roofing shingles, identified sheathing replacement needs, installed new sheathing as needed, and installed new roof shingles.  Workers took great care to treat my flowers and shrubs gently.  They also did a very good job on clean-up.  
The roof preparation after stripping the old shingles was difficult because my house at one time had a slate roof, and when it was re-shingled previously it was not done properly.  Barbera's crew did a very thorough job on preparation, etc.

Got an estimate from Ron Wolfe, their Senior Project Mgr, after seeing their ValPak ad and looking on Angie's List and seeing their Excellent rating. Best price by about $500. Had a bit of a scheduling issue but Ron handled that IMMEDIATLY. Ron also suggested a color we hadn't considered, and it looks great!
The crew arrived at 8am and started tarping our flower beds, and by 8:30 they were tearing off the roof. The Crew leader was very nice and  kept us informed about what was going on, and suggested we go with a dark brown drip edge, instead of white, which we agreed was a better look. Was a very hardworking crew, and they all worked together well. The Crew was finished by 4pm, and they went around and did cleanup, and put our patio furniture back into place. They all thanked us for the water and Gatorade we had in a cooler for them.
When they left there was NO evidence they had ever been here, other than the beautiful new roof, a color which our neighbors commented was a perfect choice.

Everything about this whole experience was professional and first rate. After reading numerous positive reviews with respect to this contractor I called their offices. A secretary answered and in less than a 1/2 hour Mr. Barbera called back personally. He came the following day to assess the situation. This wasn't a huge job to begin with, but Mr. Barbera told me he could have the fan replaced and the roof piece fixed that very same day, which he did.
Mr. Barbera's professionalism and conduct are beyond reproach.....just an all around stand-up guy. Sure I might have gotten a lower quote if I'd had the time to get 4 or 5 other contractors over, but his demeanor and approach were just so positive I had no qualms about giving him my business. He didn't try and sell me on more work (even though I know my roof is nearing the end of its lifespan), didn't pressure me in any way, shape or form. I cannot speak more highly about this contractor. And when the time comes for me to actually have the whole roof done....I know who I'm going to call!

GREAT. PROFESSIONAL. TALKED ME THROUGH THE WHOLE THING.

They did the work ahead of schedule.  There was a back porch that needed extensive repair and 18 boards on the roof needed to be replaced.  All the work was finisned in one day.  They were very professional and polite.  Really great company to work with.  I will use them again.

We placed an after-hours call to Barbera Home Improvement last night and asked them to check the roof at their convenience when they were in the area, since the job would likely be small -- probably sealing around a vent.  We chose them based on Angie's List reviews, plus the fact that we've seen their work in our neighborhood.
John Barbera came by at 1:30 PM today, checked the ceiling inside the garage, and told us that what we had was not a leak.  He pointed out that the area where chips of paint had come off one spot on the ceiling didn't show any signs of water damage and likely were part of the natural settling of our home.   He showed us the seam line in another area of the ceiling that indicated settling as well.
WOW!  What wonderful news that was -- and it got even better when John said he wouldn't charge us for the service call!!
We've seen in our own neighborhood that he is a fine craftsman, but John went beyond that and proved he is a man of integrity who wants to help people, not take advantage of them.
There's no doubt that Barbera will be the co. to replace our 14-yr.-old roof when the time comes!   John is an especially fine businessman, and we thank Angie's List once again for guiding us to such an honorable provider.

Tore off old roof and installed new one. Did a excellent job inspite of the cold weather conditions.

I had siding damage and contacted my insurance company.  They worked up a report and advised me to get
estimates from contractors. I contacted Barbera Home Improvement. I received a
call back the same day from John Barbera to set up a free estimate. John was
very professional. He sat down and reviewed my insurance report. He even took
the time to contact the insurance adjuster as my siding type and color were no
longer available and he wanted to make sure that I got the best looking job
possible for my home.

Barbera Home Improvement worked on my behalf with my
insurance company so that I was happy with the restoration to my home.  They are punctual, professional and very
helpful. I will be needing some windows soon and I will not be calling any
other contractors. Barbera Home Improvement will get my work.

I contacted Barbera Home Improvement. I received a call back the same day from John Barbera to set
up a free estimate. John was very professional. He sat down and reviewed my
insurance report. He set up a time to meet at my home with the insurance adjuster.   He was able to get insurance funds so that I could fix interior damage that had occurred because of the roof damage. He
worked very hard my behalf and was available to explain the whole insurance
process to me.
I was told by my insurance company to get a couple estimates
so I did call another contractor.  It
took them several days for them to get back to me. When the representative
finally did come out, I asked him to also look at my damaged siding. He told me
that he could not quote that. He would have another rep come out. That was the
last I heard from them about the siding. He left me a quote on my roof that was
$1500 higher than Barbera. 
The Barbera crew arrived on the promised day on time. They were very hard working and did a clean up inspection after the job. I never found any nails left behind and they left the yard cleaner than when they came.  I was very impressed with their clean up.
John Barbera is running a top-notch, very professional
business yet he was also very approachable and patient in working with my
insurance company.  I will be needing
windows in the future and they will have the job without question.

Their estimate was higher then the others that I got.

Barbera Home Improvements responded to promptly. Unfortunately they were too busy with an  aftermath of Hurricane Sandy repairs to address our problem in a timely manner.  Will contact Barbera for future needs.

Mr. Barbara is very friendly and after I accepted his extimate sent his crew within several days.  They came and completed the job in one day.  They were all very friendly and did a great job.  One of the crew actually fixed a couple of shingles on my garage that were beginning to curl just because he saw they needed to be fixed.  This was at no additional charge.

I can't say enought good things about this company!!!  From the first call to the follow up after the work was complete they did what they said, within budget, and made sure I was compeltely satisfied.  I was completely satisfied.

From start (estimating) to finish the process could not have gone smoother. The work crew did a tremendous job and their attention to detail was excellent. We have extensive planting all around the house and they were very careful and considerate. After the job was finished they used magnets to pick up any stray metal and debris. 
I would not hesitate to use them again and will be doing so in our new house.

I first contacted provider due to a roof leak.  John Barbera came out that evening after I got home from work and made temporary repair.  He came back the next day to evaluate and give me a quote on repairs.  I liked the fact that he gave me several options.  I opted to have the flat roof portion replaced, along with new gutters.  I also requested the patio awning be removed and some trim work repaired on the front of the house.  All of this work was done quickly and professionally.  Once the awning was removed, we could see that there was damage to the siding underneath.  Again, John gave me some options, and I chose to have the entire house sided.   Being that it was winter, I was able to get a very good price.  Once I approved the quote, John's crew started work within a few days and finished in 5 days.  I was very pleased with the job, the clean-up and the professionalism.  I would definitely use them again.

A huge branch broke off of the tree the hovers our house and went straight through our garage roof. It also tore the gutters off of that side of the house. Barbera was the first company we called for an estimate, based on their great reviews. Trae came out and immediately jumped on the roof to cover the hole with a tarp because a big storm was approaching. That was very kind of him because we had not talked prices or anything. But because his estimate was right in line with what we wanted to spend, and the professionalism that Trae had shown us, we decided to give them the job without talking to other companies. It turned out to be a great decision as Trae and Barbera did an awesome job on the roof, the beams inside our garage and our gutters. They even suggested a company that did garage door openers and garage doors that we used and did a great job also. We need some new windows soon and we would like to put new siding on our house also. we will call Trae and Barbera for both of those things and most likely will have them do the jobs because they are a first class company that does things right.

Dan came out and gave us an estimate.  He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions.  I had already interviewed two other contractors.  His estimate was lower than the other two and the work could be completed sooner so we decided to go with Barbera.  The workers arrived at 7:00 AM on the agreed upon date.  They worked very hard and it seemed that they never even took a break (I'm sure they did, but someone was always working.)  They completed the work on the roof before 4:00 and cleaned up well.  I would have given them an A on professionalism except that while I was out, they needed electricity and we have no outdoor outlets, so they used our next door neighbors' (without getting permission first).  Needless to say, my neighbors were not pleased.  I did discuss this with the office at the end of the day and was promised that this would be addressed. 
The next day, the gutter crew came.  Again, the work was performed well and clean-up was also done well.  We are very happy with the results.

We were very pleased with the roof work performed by Barbera Home Improvement.  John, the owner, came out to inspect the roof?he was the only roofer we contacted who took the time to ?problem-solve? our unusual living room ceiling/roof situation?he also was honest about what actually needed to be done to correct the leaking roof and did not attempt to ?sell? us additional services (e.g., gutters, chimney work).   John and his crew arrived on the day and at the time we had agreed on and he stayed and worked with his crew throughout the day to ensure the work was performed correctly. We knew up front that additional charges may be involved depending on what he found once the shingles were removed. The work and cleanup were completed in one day.  We have no hesitation in recommending Barbera Home Improvement.

I contacted Barbera after checking them out on Angie's List and referred also by a co-worker.  We needed to get our 3 skylights replaced do to leakage.  John, the owner, came out and checked out the skylights and roof.  He found that the seals were in very poor condition and that there were a couple issues with the roof that could easily be fixed.  The roof is only about 5 yrs old.  He then talked to me about the company and how quality and customer satisfaction is important to him and his workers.  He went over  what the job would consist of, information on the product, warranties, clean-up and anything else he thought we should know.  After talking to a few different companies and getting estimates, we knew Barbara was the company for us.
John and Trae came out when they were suppose and did a fantastic job.  They fixed the little issues from the previous roofing job.  It had started to rain before the job was complete.  The guys put up tarps over the skylight areas and continued working until complete.  We have had no problems with our skylights and are very satisfied.  We did have a leak that showed up after the completion on another part of the roof and were kind enough to come out and take care of that immediately.  No more leak.
Should we have anymore roof issues, I would not hesitate to call Barbera again to do the work,  I highly recommend this company.

small sample.  He also installed a leaf guard which I believe to be the best of it's kind in the business.  It has a very fine stainless mesh that would be impervious to any particle.  His price was about $1,100  - I attended the Great Home and Garden Show at the IX Center today and saw several other systems that were very similar - the best "ballpark" estimate was that I could get was $3,400.
