Mark was excellent and I'll gladly use him again and recommend him. He promptly returned my message, even though it was after normal business hours, and was here the next day. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem using a part he had in his truck. The price was very fair. He was very friendly, but professional.
Mark responded very quickly to my call for help on a Saturday morning. A defective inlet valve in my washing machine had allowed the machine to fill with water and water had leaked into the basin below my machine as well. Mark fortunately had the right part in his truck. He came out to my house within 20 minutes and had the machine repaired within a half hour. I could not have been happier with the service he provided or his professionalism. My problem was satisfactorily resolved quickly and on a weekend. I would definitely recommend his services and will contact him again in the future for any other appliance problems which arise.
Mark agreed to a service call to my home later that afternoon. Same day service is truly exceptional these days! I returned home shortly before Mark's scheduled arrival and quickly completed his recommended troubleshooting steps. He had suspected airflow blockage
and had directed me to check the dryer's outlets. A garment blocking the dryer's major airflow vent was discovered just moments before his arrival.
I showed Mark the garment blockage upon his arrival to my home. He used a special tool (far more effective than my tool) to quickly extract the lodged garment. The garments removal immediately repaired the dryer noise issue. Mark had every right to charge for this service call but did not! I believe this service call to embody the ideal standard for any appliance service provider.
We have used Mark previously, he was recommended by an employee at the local Lowe's. Mark would rather tell you that an appliance is beyond repair than have a customer spend money on something that won?t last. My husband and I wouldn?t think of using another repairman with our appliances.
The problem came when my husband came home that evening and I told him what Ed had said. He went down to look at the machine and found that Ed has left it torn apart and it was missing the motor, the belt and some valves. When I looked at what he was saying, it was obvious even to me that parts (and not small ones!!) had been removed as the connections were still hanging there! Well to say the least, I was ticked off!! The fact that Ed had essentially stolen from us then had the audacity to then ask for a cash tip on top of that!! FYI, "Ed" has a small appliance repair shop on Turney Rd (Near Al-Kar Muffler) in Garfield Hts-- I would avoid it!
I contacted Mark's and spoke with Mark the owner, the next morning and told him what had happened. Mark had already spoken with Ed, so he was aware of what the issue with the machine was. But he obviously was not aware that Ed had "helped himself" to parts off our machine. Mark was quite upset and offered to pay me the wholesale value of the missing parts (I received the check 2 days later) and said this was not the way he does business. He was very apologetic and explained that they often "recycled" parts off machines that were going to be trashed, but always had the owners permission first and it was NOT their policy to remove any part without the owners knowledge or consent. He wanted to know if I wanted Ed to bring the stolen parts back and I said No. I told him that if Ed had asked, I would have checked with my husband and probably given him the parts, but for him to have just taken them like a thief was not kosher!! Mark did tell me that this event helped him to come to a decision and he was terminating his relationship with Ed and would not longer be using him for any further calls. I suspect that Ed saw theret was 2 handicapped women (me and my 90 yr old Mother in Law) in the house (I never mentioned my husband) and suspected we would never realize what he had done. That almost even makes it worse!! But Ed had a lot of guts to steal $100 worth of parts and then ask for a tip on top of that!
I truly believe that Mark the owner had NO idea that Ed was or had done what he did and that to steal older parts off a machine is NOT the way he does business. Yes, if people donate their machines to him (in exchange for removing them), he does recycle usable parts off as a way to help people keep repair costs down, but that is done with their permission and knowledge, not in the back door way Ed did it. So I would give Mark's Appliance another chance if I have need of appliance repair services again. I found him to be truly upset at his employees actions and did a very acceptable and reasonable "apology" to us for what happened and did pay us the wholesale value of the parts taken. That you do not see often and as I said, I got the check 2 days later in the mail, as promised!! Now Ed, I would not allow him in my home again for fear of what else he may slip into his bag and help himself to without my knowledge. Since Mark is no longer using Ed's services that should not be an issue!
