When I called, the representative on the phone was professional and polite. I called on Friday 11/10/2017 and scheduled for someone to come out on 11/13/17. They asked if I wanted morning or afternoon and I chose morning. The plumbers didn't come out until 1 pm but that was not a big deal to me. What was a big deal is they quoted me $448 plus tax to replace a double handle kitchen faucet. (a standard kitchen faucet) I have priced Moen kitchen Faucets online on their website and as far as double handles with detached sprayers go, the price range was $60 to $200 no matter the carrier of the product. Anything more than $200 was for your custom fit pull downs and more high end faucets. Even if they went with the more expensive double handle Moen that would leave $250 dollars just for the labor. That was way above the average cost for faucet installation. I highly doubt they were going to install a high end faucet so I dont understand why the quoted price was on the higher end of the spectrum. We are talking chrome finish not brushed nickle, stainless steel, or bronze. Moen stands by their products and even the least expensive faucets come with life time warranties. Neither of the two plumbers had an explanation or a break down between parts and labor to explain the cost, they simply told me "thats what the book said". No matter how you break that down, I was being overcharged for something. If they were charging $150 for labor, that means I was paying $300 for the faucet. If you split it evenly its almost $225 for parts and $225 for labor. I have seen some pretty awesome Moen faucets starting at 225 and they are not the standard faucet that I was looking for in this case. Moen is a great brand that is advertised as "easy to install" and Sal's should offer the customer a choice of Moen faucets depending on their budget. They were not giving me a choice, it was top tier faucet price (as far as double handle faucets in chrome finish go) with top tier labor cost. I almost wish I would have asked to see the faucet they were going to install so I could look up that particular model. I have attached pics of Moen faucets to illustrate the price point and what you can get for up to $225.

After a lengthy walk through by Dave, who diagnosed a significant amount of plumbing repairs, Dave refused to issue me an estimate. I had mentioned that my son might be able to do the work, then decided that it was too much for my son and asked Dave for a professional estimate. Dave refused. He said that if I wanted one, they would send someone to "diagnose and estimate". A detailed diagnostic is what I thought Dave had just performed, but apparently not, and because he refused to give me an estimate, he wasted my time. I made several calls to Sal's requesting that estimate but, despite their promises, I have never received one. It has been over 10 days, and apparently Dave has decided that he doesn't feel like writing up the estimate, and Sal's is okay with losing my business. Meanwhile, my plumbing is still leaking. Do not call Sal's; they will waste your time and leave you unfulfilled.

Had a 2 hour labor coupon to fix a couple faucets in the house. Here is how it went. 1) Make sure when you hire them you tell them the make of your faucets as I was told they only have the parts for Moen and a couple of other brands. 2) Our second kitchen faucet, that was an American Standard model, probably just needed a washer or some other small part to fix. Plumber took one quick glance at it and told me I need a whole new faucet. Never even attempted to open it up to see if it could be fixed. Told me they only carry Moen on the truck and it would cost $150. Told me I could not find it anywhere like Home Depot or Lowes for less. Just went to Home Depot and priced out the same faucet for $64. Yes, Moen has lifetime warranties as I have a Moen in our main Kitchen and have always been able to get replacement parts free of charge. So he replaced the faucet and never left me any info on the faucet to give to Moen if something goes bad. Just said to take a picture of it if you need parts. 3) The shower faucet was a Delta and I happened to have parts to fix it. The plumber went into my shower with no boot coverings and left the empty part boxes in the bathroom. Was one of the worst experiences I have had with any plumbers I have hired. I have used Sals for my heating and cooling and have been happy with their service on that end. Will not use them again for plumbing. Was also going to have them replace the outside hose faucet which was on $69 coupon. If you have an older house and your pipes are inside the drywall expect to have a major bill. They do not replace just the spigot handle on the outside. They will have to go into your drywall to cut your pipe, replace it and replace the entire spigot. So you will now have to replace your drywall and anything else that mat be involved at your own expense. Passed on this for now.

The workman encountered some difficulties while doing the work. Our house is an older home and occasionally there are complications with specific repairs/updates that need to be done. He persisted and completed the job. There was an extra charge because of additional time spent. I was pleased with the end result.

The work was performed as promised. The heater works just fine. They called me 45 min before arrival, giving me time to get home from work.

I bought a $79 plumbing repair agreement and I was to supply the part. When Sal's plumbers arrived I showed them the part and was told the pop up assembly was not code. I had paid $13.00 for it at Home Depot. Then the repairman said he had the part on his truck for $69.00 plus tax = $74.00. The work was performed quickly and the site was cleaned. So I ended up paying almost twice the original charge. It would have been helpful if they had called and described the part I was suppose to get. I wondered if this had happened to other people.

Nice guy. Quick and efficient. Seemed to do a good job, and the price was right thanks to Angie's List. Only slight complaint was that they apparently do check-ups as filler between service calls. Therefore, they can't give you an appointment time - not even morning or afternoon - so you have to set the whole day aside. They did call and give me 40 minutes notice before they actually came, and were on time.
