telephoned Len's Heating to schedule pre-winter safety check and inspection of two whole-house furnaces (in a duplex).  Appt set for Thursday Oct 22, 2015 between 9:00-11:00 am.   On the day of the appt, office phoned me at 9:05 am to let me know technician is on the way to my house.  Technician arrived about 9:20 am.  He inspected and safety checked both furnaces, also both humidifiers and condensate pumps, and replaced humidifier water panels and furnace air filters with spares I had on hand. Both furnaces passed all checks and tests, good for the coming winter. Technician completed all work in about one hour.  Cleaned up after he was done.

When the A/C in my son's condo quit working I called Len's Heating to service it. I called Len's because in they have installed 2 other furnaces and A/Cs for me in other houses I owned and I was very pleased with the work they did. I originally selected Len's from Angie's list based on ratings on the list.

The condo unit is a combined furnace and A/C all in one unit that fits into the wall from the inside and is vented to the outside through a grille in the outside wall. The Len's representative (Dennis) came and attempted to check the charge on the A/C but was unable to get to the fittings to attach his gauges.

Dennis told me that the only way to check the A/C unit would be to pull it out and take it to the shop where they could hook it to power and check it out.

Later Len called me and told me that he thought that it might be a better idea to just install a whole new furnace and A/C unit because after I would pay for having the A/C unit checked, parts may not be available to repair it . Also, I didn't know how old the furnace was and it also may need repair or replacement in the near future.  He gave me estimates for replacing just the A/C unit and also to replace the entire furnace and A/C unit together. I asked him to check to see if repair parts were available for the A/C unit. He called and said parts were available.

I decided to have the A/C unit removed and checked. I was informed that there was an undetermined refrigerant leak in the A/C. Since I didn't know the age of the unit, I decided to have the whole combined furnace and A/C unit  replaced. I was told that a replacement unit was available.

Two working days later, installers Rich and Cliff arrived at the agreed time to start the installation. Rich and Cliff were pleasant to deal with, had years of experience, and were very competent . They arrived with all the needed parts and tools. They expeditiously removed the old unit and took it away and installed the new unit. It was a nice clean-looking installation. Everything went well. They had the installation finished within a couple of hours They left the place as clean as it was when they arrived. I was very satisfied with  the experience. The furnace has been operating for over a week now and I'm pleased with the performance. There have been no problems. I would definitely use Len's again.

We were very pleased with Len's Heating and Air Conditioning. The two installers arrived on time and went to work right away. The old units were removed and new units installed very smoothly, despite them having to deal with rather tight quarters for the furnace location. They got the job done easily in one day. We love the reliability of our new furnace and humidifier! Haven't yet had occasion to use the air conditioner though, but looking forward to trying it out once summer is in full swing. (It is April when I am writing this.)

On Mar. 19th, 2015 I decided to have the 16-year-old Bradford-White power-vented gas hot water tank in my house replaced because of an email I received from Angie's list saying that upcoming regulations on new hot water tanks may increase their cost. I called Len's Heating to obtain an estimate. I called Len's because in 2007 they had installed a new furnace and A/C in for me in a previous house I owned and also recently installed a furnace and A/C in the house I have now and I was very pleased with the work they did. I originally selected Len's from Angie's list based on ratings on the list. Len's gave me an estimate over the phone and I accepted it and set up an installation date.

Two days later, installers Rich and Cliff arrived at the agreed time to start the installation (the same ones who had recently installed a new furnace and A/C for me). Rich and Cliff were pleasant to deal with, had years of experience, and were very competent . They arrived with all the needed materials. They expeditiously removed the old unit and took it them it and installed the new Bradford-White unit. It was a nice clean-looking installation. Everything went well. They left the place as clean as it was when they arrived. I was very satisfied with  the experience. The hot water tank has been operating for 3 days now and I'm pleased with the performance. There have been no problems. I would definitely use Len's again.

In Mar. 2015, the 16 year old furnace in my house quit working. I called Len's Heating to service it. I called Len's because in 2007 they had installed a new furnace and A/C in for me in a previous house I owned and I was very pleased with the work they did. I originally selected Len's from Angie's list based on ratings on the list.

The Len's representative (Dennis) came and repaired the furnace. Dennis was a pleasant person who had years of experience and seemed very competent. Dennis showed me that the furnace had potentially serious and dangerous rusting of the heat exchanger.

When the furnace failed again after just a few days, I decided that since the furnace was 16 years old and had potentially serious problems that I would get it replaced. I called and Rich came out the same day and gave me an estimate for installing a new furnace and A/C. His estimate was the same as it was for the furnace and A/C I had installed in my previous house in 2007. I especially wanted a Trane furnace and A/C installed since I the Trane that I had installed in the previous house gave me good service, much better than the Rheem unit it replaced. Rich said they could schedule the installation to be performed just 2 days later. Since Len's had given me the lowest estimate for my previous  furnace installation , and since my current furnace was not working, I decided not to take the time get competitive bids.

Two days later, installers Rich and Cliff arrived at the agreed time to start the installation. Rich and Cliff were pleasant to deal with, had years of experience, and were very competent . They arrived with the needed ductwork adapters  already made and all the needed materials. They expeditiously removed the old units and took it them away and installed the new unit. It was a nice clean-looking installation. Everything went well. They left the place as clean as it was when they arrived. I was very satisfied with  the experience. The furnace has been operating for over a week now and I'm pleased with the performance. There have been no problems. I would definitely use Len's again. As a matter of fact, I called them back to replace the house hot water tank.

We were out at Home Depot NOT shopping for a new furnace when a sweet older gentleman stopped us and asked us if we needed a new furnace. As it turned out, our furnace is 27 years old and we had set money aside to replace it when it finally went. We decided to give them our information to give us a quote so we would know what to expect. A wonderful gentleman named Doug came over a few days after our visit to Home Depot, at 5:45pm, where my husband could be present as well. He didn't rush the appointment and was very honest and open about everything. He suggested what would work best for our needs instead of trying to push the higher end product or th nags we don't need. We really appreciated that. I think he was even pleasantly surprised that we ended up upgrading a little from his recommendation. Just seemed like the smarter and more economical choice in the long run. We ended up choosing the Trane high efficiency 2 stage furnace and a 13 seer air conditioning unit also with a humidifier. We were even impressed that a few days later, Doug just sent us a thank you card for our time. Companies just don't do that anymore and this just showed us a good impression of Doug and the company. We really liked Doug a lot and he was a big part of why we chose to go with Lens for our installation. I must also say we met with another company after meeting with Lens and they wanted to charge more than a $1000 more for the same products without a humidifier. Our installation took 2 days, one for the furnace and one for the air conditioner. Only thing I was unsure about was the time the workers showed up for work. I was told over the phone they would arrive between 830/9:00. They pulled in my driveway at 845 both days and did not come in to start work until 930. Since I wasn't paying by the hour, I didn't worry about it too much but still didn't seem quite right. Everything went great with the installation on both days. The workers in my home were great and very respectful and nice. They answered all my questions and did a great job on the installation. Although I wasn't completely happy about my air conditioning installation. The concrete slab that my old unit sat on had sunk and become unlevel. In my installation, they were to level the slab for me before the new unit was installed. What ended up happening was because the ground was frozen due to it being winter time, they were not able to dig out the old slab. They were only able to place gravel on top of the slab in order to create a level ground for installation. Due to my installation being in the middle of the holidays, I didn't get a chance to call the company. But a week or so later, I received a follow up call from the office to check and make sure everything was going well. I expressed the concern over the phone about my air conditioners "leveling". The lady on the phone made a note of my concern and confirmed my suspicion that they leveled it the way they did due to the weather and ground being hard. In no way was i concerned they would leave it that way, due to my other correspondence with the company. She did assure me they would properly level it in the spring when the ground was no longer frozen and at the same time they would come out to charge my air conditioning unit. All of which I am totally fine with, because I do not expect them to try to dig out a frozen concrete slab to level it out right now. At least it's good to know they will be back out to fix it for me in the spring... Overall a wonderful job and I received everything I expected from them and more. Everyone was so pleasant to deal with and we thought for what we got, it was a good price.

They were good and came out in the dead of winter and got everything up and running. The price was a good deal. They sent 2 guys out to do the job and got the job done in about half a day. The workers were both really nice and the cleanup was fine.

My service call went great.   The tech was really nice and very knowledgeable.  I had a prior tech come out from an another company and said there was so much wrong with our unit and repairing it would be between $700-$1000.  Dennis from Lens said  that was not the case and it only ran $149.00, Very fair price. GREAT SERVICE

They gave us options for AC units but steered us away from the units that wouldn't have made a difference in efficiency bc of the existing heating unit being so inefficient. They installed the unit in a day and even installed the Nest thermostat I bought for no extra cost in a different location from the previous thermostat. They also went up to the roof and installed a cap on our chimney stack. They also recommended keeping the existing concrete pad we had outside rather than using the plastic one they normally use bc it was better. Overall very pleased. I don't know when I'll have another AC unit installed, but I'll remember them when I do.
